Magic Band Names?

First time using Magic Bands - Is the name you put on the band just for your personal use (i.e. just so you know which band is yours in the morning)? Or does it need to be the legal name on your account/reservations to match a photo ID?

the band shows up.. I'm not sure if shows both.. but they can see the name on the band.. I know because it's pretty random for someone to chuckle and say "Welcome Jedi" to me when I use a FP+

I was totally going to write that but I didn't want to offend anyone that didn't get it! I told DH that I really am going to put that on his band. I'm wondering if the system would allow it? It would be hilarious if that's what the CM's saw whenever he scanned it.

It depends on the location. Any FP+ kiosk (reservation and attraction) shows your MDE Name. Front desk sees your reservation name. Concierge and GR can see both and your band customization depending on which program they are using at the time.

My son and I put Grumpy as the name on my DH band, because he doesn't like Disney.

If you want the CMs to call you by the name on the band then just change your first name in your MDE account. You can change it back anytime you like.
