Do you have to be a resort guest to charge with your MB? We are AP holders and have a CC saved to our MDE account. We are making our first day trip to WDW this weekend and have never tried before. I'm thinking probably not but thought I'd ask. Thanks

You're correct that you can't do this. Charging with your MB and/or AP only works when staying at a WDW resort.

Awesome, thanks for the quick response.

you are not charging to your magic band.
you are charging to your room reservation.
so you can only use your magic band for purchases if you are staying onsite.

It's because it works as the KTTW card. It doesn't charge to the card, it charges back to the room. I think it'd be great if they had that capability.

I do too. It would allow us to leave wallets and such in the car and not have to worry about losing them.

I thought the same thing and that is why I clicked it because that made me curious lol

You would still probably want to have your ID and at least 1 other form of payment. I know I have heard on these boards about the charging feature not working and people did not have another form of payment.

Wait a minute. So for clarification, I cannot just walk up to a food stall at the F&W Festival and use my MagicBand to pay for it since we aren't staying in a Disney resort?

Then you'd just have to worry about them being stolen.

I think they should set it up so you could charge without staying onsite, too, but not so I could leave my wallet in a car.

Wait, WHAT????????? Leave your wallet in the car? Is this something you would even contemplate anywhere else in the world- the real world? :scared1:
I'll admit to doing that at the beach sometimes... in that situation there's no ideal place to put it :)

Correct. You cannot just link a credit card to your My Disney Experience account and use your MB to access it.

They DO have Disney gift cards that are smaller versions on a wrist strap, available during F&W. Some people just load those up and use that at the stands.

You ROCK! :love1: I'll definitely be picking one of these up.
