Hi everyone, not real sure what forum my question should be posted on but I think this one. My adult daughter and I are on the same reservation. She is the reservation holder. We have Magic Bands and she has the app. I hope that I can have my own charge card on my own magic band and not have to charge on her account. Is that possible? If so, how do I do that? Thank you!!

They can separate these out for you at the front desk. Sometimes it takes a manager to do it though. Just check your charges - one time my mom and my charges were switched.

Isn't there a way to add two with different PIN Numbers?
I hoped to do the same thing. I hadn't asked that question, but I think someone else had and then got that response.

I must warn you, @jiminyC_fan: I've done this before and it didn't actually work. My sister and I checked in. She was the primary person on the reservation. I linked my own credit card and PIN on my own Magic Band. Everything was taken care of at the front desk.

The first thing I charged on my Magic Band, I checked my credit card and indeed the charge went to my credit card. So I stopped checking.

But when we got the bill at the end of our stay, everything else except the very first thing I'd charged ended up on my sister's credit card, not mine. Of course, it's my sister, so we were able to work it out. I posted about it at the time and other people said they'd had a similar experience.

So, yes, you can do it. But will it work? That's another question altogether. Ever since that experience, when I want to charge something, I use my credit card.

Darn it. Wish it would be more simple. I don't want to have to keep track of everything I charge nor carry a charge card but I guess it might have to happen. Thanks!

Yeah, I wish this hadn't happened, either, but after that experience, I don't trust it to work. Disney IT--always a tossup whether it'll work or not.

Are you sure that first charge wasn’t a mobile order? Because an individual charge with a MagicBand does not go directly to a credit card. It goes to the room folio, and charged to the card at the end of the stay (or earlier if you reach a threshold, but never as an individual charge). Mobile orders go directly to the card.

We have stopped at the front desk on at least half a dozen trips to have charges separated to different credit cards from different MagicBands. Have never had an issue.

I didn't know that about mobile order. Thank you!

It was not a mobile order. Other than the first charge, which was appeared on my cc, all of the other charges were on the room bill and ALL of them, including the ones I made with my Magic Band, were charged to my sister's cc.

I realize that this works some of the time--or maybe even most of the time--but it didn't work for me, so I haven't done it again.

ETA: This was several years ago. The one charge that I made with my MB that ended up on my cc was the first day we were there. I'm pretty sure it was a meal at Tusker House, which I paid for in person.

Well, that charge was an overall glitch, then. MagicBand charges don't go directly to credit cards.

I do remember reports of this being inconsistent the first few years it was offered. I just know that most people don't have problems with it. We haven't, on the half a dozen trips we have wanted to split charges up.

This is all good to hear. Maybe next trip I'll try again and see if it works. This definitely happened a few years ago.

ETA: Just to be clear, the one charge that was correctly charged to my credit card was not listed on the room receipt.
