Magic as Wide as a smile!10/28 Trip Report Link!!!!

Hey!! Mickey_Mom sent me over... My hubby and I are leaving the kids home and heading to WDW for my 30th birthday:scared1:

Our dates are Nov. 28th to Dec. 7th...

Can't wait to hear about you adults only trip, I am beyond worried about leaving the kids behind... I feel evil... :confused3

Hope life calms down for you soon and you can get to know that word, what was it again, oh yeah... REST....

Yippeee!!! Welcome!!!!

Congrats on your trip! Do not worry about leaving the kiddos for your trip! Really! I was a nervous wreak when we did it the first time and everything turned out great! We had a fabulous time, the kiddos had a fabulous time with Grandma and Grandpa and everything was great! I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful and relaxing it was! It's a completely different type of trip! That's why we're doing it again! :rolleyes1

After this week things should wind down a lot and hopefully the summer will be a little more relaxing!!!!

Wow, you certainly have been busy! I hope you were able to enjoy some time with your parents! :goodvibes

 Busy is surely what I've been! I can't wait for this week to be over!!!! My parents visit was quick and unfortunately not at the best time so it was a little scattered and stressed but that's ok! There will be another visit sometime soon!

Ahhh, I have a short update for you guys!

Things are still insanely busy! This week is the regatta! YIKES! I'll be so glad when this week is over!

We had our clubs annual regatta yesterday as kind of warm up for the big North Americans regatta. The kids usual sail in the morning and the adults in the afternoon. The weather was completely crazy yesterday and a big, ugly storm moved in right after the kids went out! DH, who was running the regatta, had to send them back in! Then it poured off and on for a few hours! Thunder and lightening and everything! Luckily it cleared up and DH was able to sail the kids and the adults together in the afternoon! I, of course, took lots and lots of pictures yesterday so I'll post a few later.

Today people start arriving for the North Americans! All the prep work is done for most part. The book is done and should arrive, fingers and toes crossed, today! I'll be so happy to see it and hold it in my hands!

I'll be running back and forth to the club all week, cooking and making lunches for sailors and being the if you can't find John (DH) maybe Melissa knows answer girl!

Saturday is my nieces 15th b-day! She is, as usual, here for the summer. This year instead of sending her home for the a week or so over her b-day my sister and other niece and nephew (not sure about BIL yet) are coming here on Saturday for a few days! Oh boy! So Saturday I'll be spending on birthday stuff and not regatta stuff!

My kiddos and niece have been so fantastic through all of this and really deserve a reward! On Saturday, for Jess's Birthday, we're going to a huge mall with lots and lots of good stores. Including a lego store! DD and DS7 will be super happy with that as a reward!

Next week things should wind down a bit! I still have things to do for the 100th anniversary celebration in August! I'm still co-in-charge of raffling off a
a new boat for the 100th and setting up all the games for family day for the 100th! I also still have to do the kids games at our annual street beach party on the 31st! But those things are much less work and much more simple!

I really, really, really can't wait until this trip!

Halloween shirts are in the house! I got the Jack ones I showed a few weeks ago! They look great and I think will be good for just us!

I'm working, slowly but surely, on a TR update! I'll have it up ASAP!!!

Thanks for hanging in there with me through all the craziness! I'm terribly behind on my subscriptions too! I can't wait to sit down and catchup!

I'm glad things are going well for you! Even if you are crazy busy.

Yay to the Jack Halloween shirts, I think those will be very cute. :thumbsup2

I love that picture! I sound like Ariana.... her new catch phrase when she wants me to get her something is a very emphatic, "LOVE! LOOOVE!"

Counting down the week for you. Looking forward to your pictures!

Thank you for saying your kids were fine!! I have been worried about it... My kids don't see to be, but I am a wreck...

My husband just took control of our trip and is being very secretive!!! :scared1: I had to hand over my planning binder and my excel spreadsheet!!! He changed passwords on the Disney website so I couldn't see anything... I hope he bought a strait jacket, cause I am going to need it!! :scared:

 Hi everyone! I just wanted to drop in and say hi! Last week went spectacular! It was a great, fun, exhausting, hot, beautiful week! We had a lot of fun, I made a lot of new friends and, like most things around here, it wasn't without a dump in the road!

I'll be back later with replies to all and an update!

Coming up!

So, like I said earlier, last week went really well!

It was a long, hot week but it was all in good fun and well worth the experience!

Monday of last week was our clubs annual regatta! A lot of the people who were going to sail in the North Americans sailed Monday to practice!

The weather was CRAZY that day! In the morning it was hotter then heck! Then a front came through...

Things got a little crazy! THe kids who were supposed to sail in the morning never got in a race and ended up having to sail in the afternoon because the weather took such a turn with thunderstorms and heavy rain!

But everyone, kids and adults, were able to sail in the afternoon!

Tuesday was registration for the Junior North Americans. I spent a good deal of my day running back and forth to the yacht club doing different errands and delivering things! Including MY BOOK!!! It came on Tuesday and it looks super good!! Everyone was very impressed and I was so happy with the way it came out and that there were no issues with when it came!

Wednesday started the Junior North Americans! DH ran the races and I did more running around!

DH is the one standing on the boat holding something in the air! It's his wind indicator! Lots of people thought he was very funny and cool with his wind indicator! What you can't see is that in his other hand he was holding his compass to see exactly were the wind was coming from :confused3

more juniors!

Friday, Saturday and Sunday were the open North American Championships! DH sailed in these races...

The pics from the water were taken by various people, I didn't get to go out on the water!

It was so hot last week! We had all sorts of freaky weather! lots of storms and even a water spout a few miles away!!!!! I felt really bad for all the people camping on the yacht club grounds! We has a lot of night time storms!

Friday night my sister, niece and nephew arrived for Jessica's (my other niece who was here for part of the summer) b-day!

Saturday was the big 15th b-day!! Jessica wanted to go to the big, fancy mall about an hour from here, so we went! We had a very nice time! Especially because Saturday was the hottest day! There is a Doorway to Dreams Store at the mall we went to! For those who don't know, Doorway to Dreams is a DVC sales office outside of Disney! There are only 3 in the whole world! The 1 we went to, 1 in Chicago and one in like Tokyo or someplace!

It was a really neat little Disney fix! We got to take a little tour! They had 2 BLT model rooms, a studio and a 1 bedroom! It was very cool!

During our trip to the mall Ryan saw PJ's in this non-descript shop! They had Buzz Lightyear and he was super excited about these PJ's!

When we got home He was really excited to put them on so I let him! Usually I wash stuff like that first! Well, a few hours later he was running around and discovered that he had hives on his belly! I quick took the pj's off of him and discovered hives all over him! OMG!!! :scared1:

I gave him a quick shower to get any residue off of him and gave him benedryl! When all of a sudden the lights went out!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Really?! The lights were out for 5 hours! 5 hours without lights, without AC and a itchy kid!!!! UGH!!! It was not a fun night!

Sunday morning I got up and ran down to the Yacht Club to set up breakfast for the sailors who were camping and such After about an hour DH called and told me I needed to come home right away! Ryan was still asleep and but looked awful!

I got home and went to check on him to discover that his lips and eyes were hugely swollen! I woke him up, dressed him and took to the ER! :guilty:

He was good little patient and the ER doctor seemed to think it was from the pj's!

Yesterday I had to take him to his DR for a follow up! He still had hives and the DR didn't seem convinced it was from the pj's but told me to keep giving him the benedryl and meds the ER doctor had given him! She also told me told me that it could take a week before the hives go away! :sad2:

Last night was another rough night because he seems more itchy at night! Poor baby!!!

He still has lots of hives and more still keep popping up! :confused3 But, he doesn't seem unhappy during the day!!!

UGH! Life is never dull!

Anyway, that's my story for now! I'll be back soon with A TR update! I'm so behind on all my subscriptions! I promise I'll catch backup soon too!

The pictures of the regatta are amazing! They looked like something out of a travel magazine! :thumbsup2

Boo on Ryan's hives! :sad2: My daughter had pneumonia several summers ago, and she broke out in terrible hives all over. The doctor said it was her body's reaction to being sick. She took benedryl for four straight days, every four hours! She was miserable, so I feel bad for Ryan. Maybe he'll be clear soon! :)

Oh poor Ryan! I feel so bad he's having cruddy hives after he was so excited for the pyjamas. :sad2: I hope he feels better soon. :goodvibes

Yay for your book and those pictures are AMAZING. I really like the driftwood on the sand with the boats in the background. :boat:

OH MY GOSH! You poor thing! And your poor baby!!!!!!!!! :scared1: I hope the hives end soon!!!! I'll keep you guys in my thoughts and prayers!

The pictures of the sailing are beautiful!! It looks, and sounds like, a very fun and successful day. So glad to hear your book came, and that it was perfect! :thumbsup2

We are going to the beach this weekend! :yay: We were going to go last weekend, when it was 100 degrees here in the City, but Joe had to WORK. Yuck. So, this weekend it is! He wants to do Fire Island. Ever been there?
