Okay now on to the Magic. We checked out of the Radisson at 10:10 on Saturday morning. We drove to the port, and WOW! there she was THE MAGIC! We stopped to take a picture. She is HUGH! Now we are really excited. This is really happening.
We drove in to the port, you have to show your ID and BC or passports. Twice as you drive in. Then you drive up to the front and the porter comes and gets your luggage. We tipped a dollar a bag. At this moment thing got really exciting because right in front of us was Marco & Laura from Italy that we met on these boards
We all hugged and this was the beginning of the Magic. Doug then drove and parked at the port for 54.00 on the front row. You need to keep your DL with you as you park. Everything a snap!
We went straight to check-in. It was open at 10:20. There were about 30 people there at that time, but within 30 minutes it was packed. We check-in with DL and BC ( all our BC are different) we had no problems at all.
Then I got in line, I was the 15th person in line. Doug and the kids and Grandparents walked around. We stayed in line till 12:15. Then we were on the ship, with our names being said. WOW!
We decided to eat at Parrot Cay. It is beautiful and has the same food as Topsiders. It was very HOT outside, and cool inside. We had gulf shrimp and other things, but we loved the shrimp! The desserts are unreal too.
Our luggage was at our door by 1:15. Everything accounted for. We were very lucky, since Zoomommy, had problems with lost luggage. Our Stateroom is beautiful, we could see the port from our LARGE porthole. We were in #5504. Perfect location, no noise, and kids clubs down the hall. The front of the ship doesn't rock as does the back. We unpacked and then signed the kids up for the clubs, you received a beeper. You have a password so no one else can pick up your child. This was just sign up.
We then headed to the 9th deck , Mickey Pool so the kids could swim. They loved it! Not crowded yet, but it is later on. Then we went to the party at the Goofy Pool, and met with some of the people we met on the boards. We danced and all the characters came out.
Before we left the docks we had a drill. It wasn't bad, just very HOT! you had to stand shoulder to shoulder. My son was a little scared, but no tears, It went quick and we where ready to leave.
The Horn sounded and we were off from the docks quickly at 5:00. It was very exciting to go up to the front and watch as we left. We stayed up there awhile, and were almost late for dinner.
We had LAPLAPL dinner rotation. We had first seating at 5:30. It was okay, but maybe second would be better. We had Dwight and Gregory. They were great, the food was good and we tried things we never would of at home. It was always filling and you could never be hungery. At anytime on the ship.
We went to the welcome aboard show! It was great fun. What a welcome.
We slept like babies and the kids really enjoyed the bunkbeds. On to tomorrow as soon as I can.
