Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

We been purchasing contracts on the resale market. I've managed to find loaded contracts for decent prices...but we're done buying :). We've got mostly BWV and a little OKW. We've been members since '99. Not crusing w/ points although we have in the past.

We LOVE DVC!!!

We are only cruising with paying for ds12 as the 3rd passenger in a room, so it is not too bad.

Willie have you gotten your docs yet?

Anyone that has cruised before--it seemed like there were more pages to fill out last time than there is this time. What do you think?

No doc yet here in the boonies of East Texas.
We are DVC family since 1999. We have most of our points at Boardwalk. I really love it there

Making deer chili right now, and I gotta go stir!

Doogie, I could not get that link to work:confused:

Willie--Deer chili---yum!

and everyone else. . . .

only 3.5 weeks to go!:thewave:

Willie-
Where in East Texas do you live? My Dad grew up in Brownsboro, near Tyler. I was raised in Austin.

When should we hear definite word on Grand Cayman? I actually wouldn't mind going to Costa Maya. I guess it would be smart to go ahead and book something for GC. I was thinking of the shipwreck snorkel through DCL. We did the stingray snorkel through Capt. Marvins last time and thought we'd try something different.

Bet today will be the day for those still waiting for documents!

It's official.........the R.V. is back in the driveway getting ready for storage!!!! The camping season is oficially over and the "cruising season" is getting closer!!!:bounce: :bounce: 25 days!!!! What did i miss this weekend? These are going to be A LONG 25 DAYS!!! ATA was on our voicemail and changed our departure time from Indy from 2:45 to 4:30. I think we are going to switch back to the 8:45 a.m. flight.....we have a 2 hour drive and an hour time change. That means 3:45 right????? What a way to start a vacation, but we will get a whole day at BC!!

Hello all

Feel free to sign up for Brunch or High Tea:sunny:

When are yall flying in?

Willie, I just called Member Services and they said they would not send out docs until later this week or next week:(

Howdy! And Welcome aboard 5J's!

Sherry, We live in Lumberton, just east of Beaumont. Our business is in Beaumont. Austin is one of my favorite cities in Texas. We pass through on hunting trips often. And I sometimes get to visit there for business. Just love the atmosphere of the Hill Country. I like the Tyler Brownsboro area, also. DD played in a Little Dribbler Basketball Tourney there a few years ago, and the people were great.

Doogie- It seldom gets very cold here where we live. Maybe dips below freezing once or twice in winter. We were swimming in the pool yesterday while the chili cooked. I would rather cook chili when it is cold, but I need to finish off last years venison. We do hunt them. As far as road kill goes, gee, I have never been that lucky to find a whole deer. We have to settle for mostly armadillos, and slow running possums. It really tenderizes those rascals. Yum.:teeth:

Maybe the chefs on the Magic will let me host an event onboard. "On the Grill, Red Neck Road Kill"

Thanks to you all for the kind thoughts and warm wishes for my family!:grouphug: Here's the update...

Dad went through the biopsy fine and I take him for a pulmonary functioning test tomorrow. We see the pulmonologist next Tuesday and will find the results then unless he calls Dad before then.

Sis is now on anti-seizure meds and we go back on 11/29 for a follow-up. (Darn, I will have to miss work the first day back after the cruise... We'll see how it goes. The 60 day mark is getting closer for the court date and still haven't made any headway.

We are still without PC at home:badpc: ...the new hard drive should be here this week and that will be a relief once we get it swapped.

My car is still in the shop...thought it was a fuel line thing...replaced one part and cleaned some sensors and still can't figure it out. Okay, no jokes about FORD...Found On Road Dead...I like my little Focus...it actually has some sportyness to it.

And DS is sorry that the Cardinals beat the Astros, but it looks like they might get whooped by the Soxs. Personally, I'll just be happy when the series is over so I don't have to hear him beg to stay up late to see the end of a game.:bitelip:

Yes, the thoughts of going on the cruise have been my "zen place" lately. I keep telling myself there is nothing that will stop me from getting on that ship. I know that my dad is going to be just fine!:flower1: I also know that he is like my mom and would not let us miss this. Mom had been diagnosed with brain cancer and we were scheduled to leave two weeks later for DS's first trip to WDW...she was adamant about him being able to enjoy that trip. He did and she loved hearing about it and seeing the pictures when we came back.

And for those docs....:hyper: we still haven't received them.

We did get our flight info. :Pinkbounc We are using the Disney travel for our air travel...peace of mind for the first time cruisers. We fly out of Evansville IN at 7am on the 20th, through Charlotte, and into Orlando at 12:22pm, then via DCL bus to the terminal. A bit close, but I am dealing with that. I can live with DH not getting his massage if I can't get the reservation. And if Willie is making that Palo Brunch reservation for all of us, well then that is one less thing I need to worry about...Thanks Willie! :goodvibes

...hey Lampskies, can ya save a little shrimp for us? I mean, seeing as how we will be a tad bit of a late comer? ;)

We have an 11:35am return flight which from what I've read here is fine. My TA said Delta will get the bags for us at the port terminal...news to me, but hey, that is one less thing for me to grab. Anyone else had the airline grab the bags at the port?:scratchin

For both ends of travel we have arranged for a limo to take and pick us up at the airport in Evansville...no weary travelers due to a 2 hour drive to airport, no overnight hotels, and no long term parking. The limo will get us at our house and then drop us off at the door...should be a relaxing ride. :cheer2:

Well, that takes care of my DIS fix for the day...I'll keep checking in when I can. Silver7...thanks for the updates via cell phone. I really do appreciate it!

Again, thanks to my Turkey Day Gang for all the pixie dust and kind thoughts. It means so much to me!

WMILLER86 I went to college in Longview, Tx at LeTourneau University in the mid 80's

East TX was much like Southern NJ except for the heat and no ocean. People are very nice.

I have come to the conclusion that after a lifetime of living in the South(Texas and Louisiana), that I actually LIKE the extreme heat we have down here. I can always find a shade tree to cool off under. But the cold hurts! We went skiing in Keystone Co. this past March(see family pic below) and the weather was actually pretty mild. But still too cold for me. Give me that good old double 100's! ( 100 degrees/100% humidity)
Now, if I could just find an island to retire to someday!

Impatiently waiting for docs,
Willie

Laura, I think you need a "Calgon, take me away" day!:smooth:

Willie, I forgot to say the CM also told me that the docs will be coming UPS, so ignore that Fed EX guy:p

Last call for door signs! If you would like one please PM me and I will pass on the message to Laura immediately. She is only checking in her a couple of times a week and I am her temporary secretary:crazy:

Hey Laura, There are NO little shrimp.....just jumbos!!! Usually there is some still left at 2 as I am making my 4th pass down the buffett!!! We're flying out if Indy on the 19th.

Willie-I agree with you!! I definitely prefer the heat to the cold. My DH on the other hand loves to ski so we have been going to Colorado each year for a week in February. This Disney Cruise is my reward for being a good sport on the ski trips!!

We recieved our shore excursion confirmations today:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Laura is making really cool magnetic signs for our doors. I tried to post a picture that she sent me of one, but alas, I am an image posting doofus.
