Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

So you're asking.........how ready am I for this trip?????

This morning, after I took my turn in car pool this morning.......after I got home last night at 10p.m. from work.....after which I went to the new house and took the garbage totes back inthe garage, after which I cleaned up drywall dust for a couple of hours......blah, blah, blah.....get the idea? Oh ya, back home at 7:30 from car pool DW (Kim) says, "I have so much to do before we leave for campning this weekend......" Oh no I forgot, it's the kids spring break and we are leaving this weekend with 15 other r.v.ers.........I think we need to add about 12 hours to the days........what do you think? But then that would mean we would only have 21.33 days left before we sail............

That means we only have 771 hours, or 46260 minutes or 2,775,600 (secornds give or take a few) 'till we sail. If your heart beats 80 times a minute that means it will only 3,700,800 times 'till we sail. 31 more lunches 'till we get that shrimp at the buffett.........do you get the hint..........I NEED A VACATION!!!!!!!!

 What would be the best dinner rotation? We have purchased the Romance package and I know the reservationist is going to ask what rotation we would prefer and I am overwhelmed by this. Please help! We currently have second seating and I want to pick the best night for Palo! Thanks you guys for helping and I can't wait to meet you all Thanksgiving!

Carolyn AKA Babysharknc

I have read that the recommended rotation is where you are in Tritons on Formal night. I don't know which night that is at this time, so you might just ask when you talk to the reservationist.

*still looking and waiting patiiently for my docs*

ps

Lampy are you ready to cruise yet?:p

Am I ready you ask???? I think tonight when I get home I,m going to add some salt to my hot tub, put on my snorkeling mask and flippers and slip under the water and see how long I hold my breath.........

RE: What does screen name mean?

Screen name- WMILLER86

Well, my name is Willie Miller, and 86 was my old football number...(Number 86 in your programs, but number one in your hearts!)
Or maybe 86 was the number of concussions I had? Gee, I can't remember!:crazy2:

Willie

sooo none of the Texas people have gotten theirs yet. . Must be a St Louis Cardinal fan sending them out:space:

Recieved docs today!

Why the early departure from CC? Is that so the ship will be at Grand Cayman on time? Is that why CC has 2 day for 1 rentals?

Doogie...We booked after I read several families had gotten the package even with children...I was a little leary but I looked at the value, Just to get two massages was over $200, we will utilize late night childcare for the Rose Petal night and share a huge breakfast in our cabin with the children. THe big plus is making the Palo and spa reservations before you even board the ship. Also you get to choose your dining rotation before you board, although I find this a tad overwhelming I will figure this out with the help of the reservationist and all who want to comment.

Also I will assume that this is going to be a full ship. With that in mind I want to get the best picks for reservations and not have to do the ressi rush!!!

What do you all think?

I agree w/ you babyshark!! Unfortunately, my husband is not a massage person or a big romance person. From what i've read, it appears that Luminiere's is the best restaurant for Formal night and that the Parrot restaurant or the 2nd visit to AP are the best times to visit Palo. However, ask the reservation agent to make sure. Good luck!!

Go ahead and book! If you want I think one person can have both massages! Just enjoy a little pampering! Even if DH is not into the romance thing the kids would get a kick out of seeing the rose petals and towel figures!

LOL

Well, we haven't received ours yet...

And as for the delivery guy being a Cardinal fan...well, if that is the case then the old bird would have flown into our house a long time ago...Ds is a huge Cards fan....Sorry all you Astros folks. He promises to be nice if the Astros take the series, but if the Cards pull it off he does plan to wear a Cards shirt on the cruise...let a 12 year old have some fun.

I am planning to cal the TA today...should have some info about the air portion...we went thru WDW as a safety precaution for our first cruise. You fellow midwesterners know the weather can be weird here. We've had tornados this week and 70º weather...strange.

Well, I'll let ya know if those docs get here!

ICEMANPAD, when you said that your DH was not really a massage person, it made me think about my recent experience. My wife signed us up for the REAS on this upcoming cruise, and I have been kind of worried about the massage part. Kelli kept telling me that they are great, you are so relaxed when you get done, etc.
Well, I was in Las Vegas on business(Progressive Insurance) a few weeks ago at the Paris Las Vegas. And Progressive gave me a free visit to the spa and a massage. I thought, well this will be great. I get to try a massage before the cruise, to see how I like it! And it is free. I must confess to being a little nervous about the thought of a strange lady rubbing my body! But I believed I could handle it with no problem. Hey, I am an open minded kind of guy! (I thought)
Imagine my surprise, when I met the massage therapist, and he was about 6 foot 4, and weighed about 300 pounds! Now, I never knew that I was homophobic, but I was feeling pretty queasy about the whole thing at this point. I did not want to hurt the guys feelings, so I did not object.(Which I found out later, I could have done.)
The next thing I know, I am face down, in a warm, dark room, wearing nothing but a towel, with a man. I just could not relax. I just could not. I never expected the therapist to be a man, so I was not at all prepared. I actually got nauseated.
The poor guy really tried hard. Turns out, he was a former UNLV football player, and a really nice guy. We ended up talking alot of football, and had a nice visit. But I can't say I enjoyed the massage part. I know it was my own fault. What can I say?
Just take this as a bit of advice from old macho man Willie. If you prefer a female massage therapist, TELL THEM AHEAD OF TIME!

P.S. My wife and friends have had great fun giving me a hard time about this. At first, I was going to lie to them, and say that my massage was great, and was given by a beautiful exotic lady from another country. But even I thought it was too funny not to tell.

Mine was given to me by DS...when I signed up on the boards I didn't want to use my usual name...TerpnTime when I was at the Family Fun board...I'm a sign language interpreter...so DS said, "Mom, your goofy!" and started singing, "Mom's goofy..." so TaDa I am now momsgoofy.

And Doogie...I first thought of Moon Doogie from the old Gidget movies...and NO I am not that old...just loved to watch them in repeats on tv as a kid.

Okay, so you guys think you are really ready to cruise? I've got ya'll beat I think on how bad I need this cruise.

You guys know about my sis with the whacked soon to be ex-husband...well, she found out last month that he is the cause of her being 100% disabled...long story...so tomorrow I am to take her to her neurologist in St. Louis to try to get her seizures under control. Still no progress on her divorce...the soon to be ex is dragging his heels.

I turned 38 this month...

And...two weeks ago I found out I am diabetic. I'm dealing with it fairly well. I know it will be hard on the cruise and that I will fudge...oh, no pun intended there...while on the cruise. I've got bad genes for this and knew it was inevitable.

And...my dad who was in the hospital the end of September is having a lung biopsy on Friday...they've ruled out anything related to his heart...has congestive heart diesease, ruled out pnemonia...thought it was an a-typical kind like Legionare's Disease, but he's still on oxygen and can't drive. They now suspect he may have...BOOP...Bronchial Obstructive blah blah...can't remember the specifics, but the only way to know for sure is with the biopsy.

And...can't find a substitute for a class I'm working in Friday so I can be with my dad...I told the coordinator...too bad I'm going to the hospital.

And...yesterday my car konked on me...sounds like a fuel system or air intake valve problem. The thing just started acting like it was out of gas and that was impossible since I had a half of a tank. So, I'm now driving the loaner...Grandma's car...a Ford Taurus.

And...we still haven't received the new hard drive to replace the dead one.

So, I am so very ready for this cruise!!

I know you all are going OMG...and I appreciate your concerns from my Turkey Gang family. I actually had a brief breakdown in the car yesterday as I waited for the tow truck and I keep telling myself that God only gives us what we can handle even if right now I think He's a bit off at how strong he thinks I am. I am just dealing with what I need to and doing what I have to. Even though I'm thinking about the what if's with my dad, I try to block those and as my mom used to say, "We'll cross that bridge when we get to it."

So Lampskies and silver7...seeing as how I feel like I'm already living there, we won't be headed to Hell on Grand Cayman. I really want to just stroll around and see what I can see. DS wants to hit the Hard Rock so that is what we will do.

Again, thanks for all of your concerns...just keep my dad in your thoughts and hope for a postive situation. If it is indeed the BOOP, then he will be on oxygen for the rest of his life. And BTW, Saturday he turns 73.

For now,

Laura ºoº

WMILLER86! I have a bit of a nervous feeling about a massage. It is my husband who really wants one and I think he has visions of a beautiful sweedish gal rubbing him down. It would suit me fine for him to get the football player you had. But seriously, I hope I don't back out.

Babyshark is from college, I was a biology major and had to dissect a baby shark, my BF who is now my DH started calling me that and it has stuck. I just added NC for North Carolina.

Not too interesting....Sorry.
