Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

Quick Poll:

Who is taking tuxes (or renting) and who is doin' the suit and tie thang?

I am on the fence on this--I think it would be really great to see the guys dressed up, but don't want to pack the tuxes (and they are not really wild about the idea). We would only have to rent one, so we are ok there. I know momsgoofy is doing the tux thing--What are yall doing?

We don't do the tux "thang". I take a sport coat and tie for formal nights. If you enjoy gettin' all gussied up :) , then go for it. The folks who do look great. I'd say only about a third of the folks are in tuxes.

Neither my dh nor my ds will be wearing a tux. For them, dressing up means having to wear long pants. We live in Florida--so they live in shorts whenever possible. However, my dh will be wearing a suit for formal night and my ds will probably be wearing khakis and a button down shirt (if all goes well)!!!

We just booked the Buccaneer Catamaran Snorkel for Grand Cayman with grandcaymancruiseexcursions.com. I think it is about 3 hours with stops at Stingray sandbar, a coral reef, and one other snorkel stop.
After that, we plan to head to a beach somewhere. Has anyone gone to the beaches at GC? How was it?

Willie

Mark & DS won't be wearing tuxes- probably sport jackets or suits. Last time Mark was in a tux we were walking down the isle:bride:.
I have a few outfits/dresses picked out for me- he is out of town (working) for the next 2 weeks- I'll worry about his clothes when he comes home.
Getting closer!! Everyone at my work will be happy when I quit telling them how many days, hours, minutes & seconds until the cruise:hyper:

Received documents today!!! Now I'm really getting excited about this cruise!!!

Sherry

No way! Already? Well Sherry, I guess you win the documents earlybird prize! I don't know what that prize is, but you win it! Anyone else "Got Docs?"

I heard that if you booked with DVC points, you get your docs kinda late. Anyone know if this is true?

Willie

OH MY GOSH!! Sherry you are so lucky!!

:jumping1: <--Sherry doing the doc dance

How did you book--through DCL or a TA or points?

Willie, I booked our second room with points, so I hope not!

Alright!!!!!!! The doc dance!!!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: I figured they would be next week........in another thread the 11/13 sailors recieved theirs early this week........you are in Florida.......looks like we are getting our early next week!!!!!:jumping1: :jumping1:

We too will be eating turkey on the cruise. We have 3 kids, two boys, 11 and 8 and a girl age 51/2. Can't wait. Not dissappointed about missing Key West - was there last December on a cruise and not much to do with the kids. Have heard we are lucky to be going to Castaway Cay twice. Went to Disney over the summer and stayed at GF and AKL. Loved GF - great location - could watch the fireworks every night from the balcony and took the boat lauch back to beat the crowds. Has anyone arranged a meeting time all the board users? Also, how do we register for the particular cruise on the boards? First time user! Thanks,

Hi Michele. Oh my gosh, another Texan!

We booked directly through inventory control. We are prize winners from the Who Wants to Be a Mouseketeer show. I think the fact we live only two hours from Orlando probably helped in us winning the "document early bird contest". We're just so darned lucky!

Wow We've been having computer problems for the past week and I haven't been able to get on the boards and I just read the last page of this thread and it looks like our group of DISers is growing!!! Welcome to all the newcomers!

Sherry Hoe exciting you got your docs already!!!!! I have been checking by our front door daily all this week but nothing yet. The other day when I was out walking I saw a Fed Ex truck going through our subdivision and was really hoping he was looking for my house but no such luck. I have a feeling Mon. is the day for our docs because that would be about the same time frame of getting them as our last 2 cruises. I'm hoping at least!!

Teresa Dh will be wearing a suit and tie for the formal nights. The only 2 times I have ever been able to get hin in a tux was for our wedding and for my brothers wedding.

I'll have to get caught up on the last few pages of this thread tonight or Sun. We are going overnight tomorrow to a resort in the WI Dells that has an indoor waterpark!

Have a great weekend fellow Thanksgiving cruisers!!!

Cheryl

Thanks for the great welcome - mention was made of getting together for brunch or tea - can you give me the specifics? Would love to get together. Sounds like many have kids the same as ours and I know mine would love to have someone to go off to "camp" with. Thanks, Michele

The brunch and tea are set up for the "sea" days on the Magic. We are having a meet the first day before we cruise---Willie can you refresh my memory of where that will be?

What area of Houston do you live in? When are you flying in?

We are planning to meet for the Sailaway Party on deck 10 overlooking the party on deck 9. Lampskies said that there is a portable bar set up there on the dockside that is a great place to view everything. Look for the LIME GREEN shirt/shirts!

We have planned to meet in Diversions for Sunday afternoon/evening football. That is the day we leave CC early. And the Houston Texans will be rocking the Packers world on the (ESPN) big screen that night.

We are also trying to set up a nightly meet for a nightcap, and to talk about how the day went. Say about 10-10:30 each evening?

Howdy! And welcome aboard Pussycat! You are now onboard the best Magic cruise of the year! It is good to see another Texas family aboard!

Going where the weather suits my clothes.

Willie

I did receive 4 or 5 emails the last couple of days at cruisindisney@aol.com, but I am currently having trouble getting into my website. They must be working on something on the college's server. I will make all of your updates (hopefully) in the next 24-48 hours.

BTW --

:sunny: YOUR COUNTDOWN CLOCKS LOOK AWESOME!!! :sunny:

Look at that......less than 35 day:bounce: :bounce: !!! We are meeting with our neighbors that are sailing with us tonight for dinner to figure out what we are doing. We switched our flights out of Indy and will be staying at the Beach Club Friday night. DCL took GREAT care of us on the transfers and BC due to us being 4th time sailors and ALWAYS bring first time sailors with us......BC is one of the first t get picked up to get to port 11:15-11:30, which means we should be there no later than 12:30:wave:  . I've got my carribean music loaded on my computer at work and on my C.D. in my Corvette.......driving in 40 degree weather with carribean music just makes me feel warmer!!! LOL I just don't think I should put the top down, right?

Lampy... you got a Vette? Cool. I just got my first three weeks ago so I'm a newbie, a Z06. Not much time left for fall driving here in Iowa. I had some Jimmy Buffet playing in it the other day... thinking of cruising the whole time.

Just made our rental car reservations to/from the port as well as hotel using priceline. We get in late Friday, but look for us very near (or at) the front of the line (it's the kid thing) on Saturday!!

What kid thing?? You have to be first in line (jk!!) My DH just got a thunderbird convertible a few weeks ago. What is it with you guys and fast little cars?:smooth: I am betting most of the moms still drive the mom-mobile::MinnieMo

I am hoping (note the word hoping--how fast can I get the guys in gear??) to be on the first bus out of the Hyatt at the airport Saturday morning. From what I have read the bus leaves at 930 or 10.:boat:

I got an email from my TA yesterday that said she had sent the docs for the cruise before us out on Friday, so our docs should be here very soon.
