Magic 11/20/04 Thanksgiving Cruisers?

Silver7........On our last sailing (Nov. 03 Eastern) DW signed up for the 1 mile "power walk" with a CM. She was the only one who went.....me, I just found a beach chair and a bucket of beers....LOL.......We're closing on our new house tomorrow:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ..........then I'm mailing in the "final chunk".

I just want to share with you all what my TA told me today...

She received our info to book the excursions for the crusie and there was an extra page...certain excursions at CC for our cruise are "book for the first stop and get the second stop free". It sounds like a great deal, so we will do just that...two days for the price of one.

We'll still do the Tulum Ruins in Cozumel and kind of play it by ear for the Grand Cayman or Costa Maya if that is where we stop instead. Teresa, I have glanced at the Costa Maya info, but not in depth. I hear it's suppose to be very nice though.

Well, gotta run...need to do some things around the house.

Laura ºoº

Laura, I received that same info in the mail (booked cruise on board, didn't us TA) today about the second day at CC free for bikes, floats and snorkel gear. I think I am going to book a bike for myself and a float for DD.

Teresa I have been starting to look at the Costa Maya info and links from other cruisers. It does look and sound very nice. We were really looking forward to Grand Cayman this cruise (and snorkeling with the stingrays) because we didn't make it there on our last cruise in Jan. 2003 because the seas were too rough for us to tender in so we couldn't stop there. I am getting more and more prepared for the possibility we may not get there again after reading some of the reports about GC and seeing the pictures, maybe we are just not destined to go there. No matter what this will be a great cruise and I'm just happy were going to be on the Magic again in less than 2 months!

Teresa and Willie we are keeping your families in our prayers as Ivan heads towards Texas. Stay safe!!!

Cheryl :sunny:

Lampskies, the power walk sounds great! I wonder if they do anything organized on the ship?

Laura, I hope everthing everthing is going well with your Sis:hug:

Cheryl, believe it or not, we have had NO RAIN or wind from Ivan whatsoever :cheer2:

I hope things get better for the people on GC. :sunny:

only 56 more days:cool1:

Silver7.......I don't remember anything "organized" for walks on the ship our last 3 sailings, but DW did her morning stroll on deck 3? or 4?

I was looking on castawayclub (dot com) on past navigators, and saw beer tasting one of the days. Count me in!!!!! Always up for tasting beer.

Just got done with a full day of reroofing the house (11 hours worth) what a job. I have been trying to finish for a while but it seems when I have the time we have bad weather, when it is nice out, I have to work.

Got to go taste some of that ice cold Coors Light (sorry Willie and Ron I am not a Miller Lite fan).

Mark

Willie,

I just realized that I had given Mel the wrong stateroom number...it looks like we will be in 6587...neighbors for the cruise.
 That is unless one of us gets some serious pixie dust and gets an upgrade...(fingers crossed for both of us.)

Tbert,

Sounds like you deserve more than just one beer after reroofing the house! That is a job and a half! :drinking1

silver7,

Thanks! My sis is hanging in there.:flower:

Wow, I can hardly believe we are only a couple months away from the cruise. :jumping1: It seems like yesterday that we made the reservation. I guess it's time to get serious about getting my dress altered, and finding those things I still want to get for the cruise. DS is outgrowing his shorts so I hope I can find some still in the stores.

Well, hope you all are having a beautiful Disney Day!

Hello Everyone,
We are actually looking to book the Nov. 20 sailing tomorrow!! Convince me that even though there will be no dock at Key West, that all will be well. We cruised the Magic over Thanksgiving in 1999, and loved it. DD is now 9 and DS is now 10, and they are now at an age where there experiences will be more memorable to them, so ready to sail again. But still bummed over Key West.

Have a Disney Day,

Sunny D

Hey Sunny D!

Welcome! We have a website for our cruise where you can see pics of some of the cruisers..sign up for brunch or tea!

http://www.kings.edu/mfpriebe/cruise/

We are looking into (or I should say Willie is organizing

:earsboy: ) a meet for the embarkation day. Join us! Several of us have kids your kids ages.

Laura, does that wish go for all of us for upgrades??:teeth: I just KNOW some of us will get upgrades. It will be a blast when we start getting our docs and seeing if anyone does.

ONLY 7 MORE WEEKS:thewave:

Regarding upgrades..... I thought that if you had an assigned cabin number, you were much less likely to upgrade? We had selected the two cabins we have because they are right across the hall from each other.

Willie

Willie, the way I understand it is that you don't have to accept the upgrades. I booked us as a GTY and was assigned a cabin number immediately. I booked my MIL and she was assigned a number immediately also (it was not a GTY, I guess because there were so many cat 11's)

How did yall fare with IVAN?? I heard last night from our local trusty weatherman that he may loop around and go back into the gulf and come back here!:earseek:

We have hardly had any rain here for weeks. We didn't even get any wind. So we were thankful.

Thanks for the info on the room upgrades. I doubt if I will get upped because we requested the rooms we have after looking at deck plans.

We are starting to get a few things packed. Kelli booked a parasail and bananaboat rides at CC. We are also going to try and make the wine tasteing seminar.

Willie

Hey Mark.........I don't remember seing Coors lite........I know there was Bud and the "beer tasting" is in Diversions and it is for those dark beers........Fosters, Guiness, etc..........On our last sailing 2 of the 3 bard ran out of my miller lite by Wednesday night........Think I should call and let then know I'll be there again??? Closed on the new house last Thursday and am sending out the final payment tomorrow:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: ........looks like we'll be sailing on a full ship!!!!!!!!

I just got confirmation of shore excursions on CC. It shows we will be departing at 2:45 that first CC day. I guess it is farther away from Grand Cayman, or where ever we are going, than Key West is. That will make for a very short day!
It does still show us going to Grand Cayman as of now. I hope GC is rebuilt enough by then to take visitors!

Willie

WMiller.............Bad news/ good news..........Bad news the first day at CC is a short one......................Good news-well make the second round of football games ot Diversions..LOL

Wow, I got our excursion sheet and did not even notice that--good catch! I was just realizing the Texas A & M game would start at 12 eastern, so we would be back by then.

We are having a problem with our excursions--I set them all up last week, but DS12 decided he wanted to do the jet ski excursion also. Because we booked one room with points (the boys and my MIL in that room) and one room with cash, we cannot book DS with DH because they are in two different rooms. (he is too young to ride by himself, and they have to be 18 to be the primary driver, and older DS is 16)

There is only one time (945) with a double left, and they will not let us book it over the phone, we will have to do it on the ship:rolleyes:

I was on the phone with DCL for an hour this morning and nothing was settled. My TA is working on it now.

You know what? I have an AWESOME TA! She took care of it.:hyper:

DH,and both DS's are now on the 945 jet ski tour. :sunny:

I, on the other hand, will be looking at the pretty fishes in the snorkeling area:fish:

ps
I just now realized those games are on Friday, not the Sunday we are talking excursions:crazy:

I have a real concern now that was just this week brought to my attention.... I don't know if I can share this with you guys...... but you may have already picked up on this from reading some of these posts..... yep, a big problem..........There is no getting around it...........

Well, maybe just a problem for me and a few others, he he........;)

Well, here goes..... Lampskies, tell me how the heck can Disney run out of Miller Lite?!? With this much football, the ship will be dry by late Monday nite! :earseek:

Especially with this many Texas teams on the tv that week! I KNOW those AGGIES are Miller Lite drinkers!

Houston Texans vs Green Bay Sunday Night
Dallas Cowboys vs Chicago Bears Thurs
Texas vs Texas A&M Friday

I may have to write Disney about this possible crisis! Is it possible to drain the Mickey pool and use it as a backup keg?

Willie

Cheryl N. WI-

Thanks for the email offer. My older DD would probably be interested in emailing. I'll check with her.

To all Texas residents-

Although we now live in Florida, my DH and I are from Austin. DD11 was also born there. Go Horns!

Sherry

OOOH that will make the after Turkey Day game a little more exciting::yes::

Gig'em Aggies!

Sherry did yall sign up for excursions yet?

Willie, why don't we just use the pools to ice down the kegs, that way when they float it will not be a problem:drinking1
