Maelstrom SB lines

Don't waste a FP on Malestrom. I have never had to wait in along line for that attraction.
29 trips to Disney World and counting...next stop POFQ March 2014

I can't remember anytime wishing I'd done a FP for this ride.
I'd estimate my longest wait at 20-30 minutes with 20mi or less being norm.

IF lines suddenly become long with FP+, that would indicate an epic failure. JMHO.

But if you got TT and Soarin, what else would you use your FP for? The only other one I might consider is Living with the Land. All the rest you can get in pretty quickly. Maelstrom can get pretty crowded (30-45 min at busy times, and I don't want to wait that long for a 5 min ride). We usually travel during Spring break or NYE week.

FP for Maelstrom is a waste of a FP.I have yet to use FP+ but I keep seeing posts of people getting FP+ for attractions that just don't need it.Like I said I have yet to use it but threads like the one mentioning you can get a FP+ for Test Track or Soarin but not both are scary,at least in Epcot those are the two rides that need it,everything else is a walk on or a 5-15 minute wait.

It was a 20 min wait both days we were at epcot last week. I fp+d it along with soarin and test track. We hit the land ride within and hour of park opening as a walk on. We love maelstrom so it was a good pick for our 3rd choice.

Waits are usually not too long for this. See the link in my signature for my suggestions on best use of FP/FP+.

Here this week and have been anywhere from 10 to 40 min. But, we stood in a 25 min. line and it wasn't too bad. And, we have ridden it many, many times. It moves steadily.

We have fp for malestrome this trip only because we needed one more fp attraction. Rode mission space once and that was enough for me. So far we have TT,Sorain and Malestrome for our two times we will be at epcot. And as long as I don't make any changes I should be able to keep those two headliner rides.

If maelstrom is a 5-15 min wait, then no need to FP. But as I said, if you travel during very busy times, wait can easily be 30 min or more. I am travelling again NYE week, so I took the maelstrom FP. Even spaceship earth had 90min waits. The lines were longer than I had ever seen in my life in the days up to NYE.

The current system at Epcot won't let you get a FP+ for maelstrom if you get for TT or Soarin.

It's only letting 1 choice among:
TT
Soarin
Maelstrom
Character Spot

The other 2 must come from the remaining attractions.

So, I assume there will be next to no one picking Maelstrom over the other choices.

The current system won't let you get a fp for both TT and soarin on the same day? If that's true, that is totally ridiculous. Those are the top 2 rides that probably 95% of people want fp's for.

I made my fp selections over a month ago and have not made any modifications. I had to call the tech. dept the other night and I asked about the new rule at epcot. He said as long as I don't make any changes I would be able to keep what I already had. 11/12 test track, sorain and malestrome. 11/16 (same thing).

I only saw a 45 minute wait time during Spring Break 2010 if it's high capacity then it may be worth getting

Maestrom is a good choice if you want a ride for everyone, but have family members less than 40" in height.

I was at Epcot on Sunday and the posted wait time for Marlstrom was 50 minutes. The line didn't look like 50 minutes and so I got in line. It was 25 minutes. By the time we got off the ride, they'd changed the wait time to. 25 minutes. I have no idea what was going on.
