I have been trying to decide when we wanted to go back the the Fort next year...Thanksgiving or Christmas through NYE. After much great advice here, we decided to go for it and do Christmas !! :cool1: I know the parks will be really crowded...but we really want to experience the holidays at WDW. I've heard early December is the best time to go, but the kids just can't get away from school at their ages anymore like we could when they were little. Another benefit to Christmas is that we can spend more time down there than if we went at Thanksgiving. I don't have their school calendar yet obviously, but I think we should be able to do about 12 nights at FW and 2 nights each way down there and back home to Michigan. We will probably get a 10 day hopper tickets and the DDP (depending on how it set up next year).

We bought a trailer for our golf cart and plan on taking it with us. It would cost us about $600 to rent one during our stay and it will be much cheaper to just take a cab if we want to go off site for anything. I don't think we will miss the minivan all that much.

Now I just have to sit and wait until I can make my reservations which I think will be sometime in August. I think we will be staying 12-22-08 through 1-02-09. OMG.....that is so far away !! In the meantime I will have to live through all of you. Please keep me posted on the changes made at FW during the next 18 or so months !!

Congratulations Shanonne! I know you and your family will have fun. Just a tip from a Holiday regular, we also make our Christmas ressies A.S.A.P. but we always book for more than what we think we will need because it is easier to remove days then to add them at that time. As soon as we get our school schedule we adjust the reservation for exactly what we need. This allows other campers to fill those spots if they need them. Our school district here posts the school calendar for the following year in the spring.
I also start my Christmas shopping early for our Disney holiday as the sales are on at the Disney Store and I get lots of deals on Disney themed merchandise. Saves lots of money to buy before you reach the parks and the kids sure appreciate getting the Disney presents at Disney.:santa:
