Made a spec. needs reservation this weekend/beginning of the week? Read this!

Anybody who made (or tried to make) a reservation for a room with roll in shower and/or grab bars and was told "no room at the inn"; please make sure you double check!!! Something was up with the computer system within the special needs department. At first they were down and when back up running, showed no availability.

Or for me personally; I had to cancel my scheduled cruise/trip in 3 weeks due to medical stuff and rescheduled for december. Luckily the person I rented DVC points from would work with me :thumbsup2 and I added some days myself. Simply put; 5 nights for me at SSR in a studio and renter made 2 reservations as one night isn't available at the moment through DVC (waitlisted, but who knows?). So for that one night in between, I also made a reservation, all being for a studio at SSR. Both I and renter were told computers down, but no problem and we'ld be called back. Got called back and told for all 4!! reservations; no roll in shower available! I could get a room with grab bars for the first 5 nights but nothing else.

Yesterday, I get a confirmation email from CRO for my 5 nighter reservation. Nothing has changed, except the roll in shower note. I call and check; it has been changed to room with roll in shower! Check that one nighter, same thing. I tip my renter about this quirk, he calls and sure enough; he gets me a room with roll in shower for the 2 reservation we've got through DVC also!!

So something was obviously up with showing wrong availability. Only one of those 4 reservations got an automated change to what was needed after this was somehow solved. Otherwise I wouldn't have gotten a clue about this and just chalked it up to luck when we'ld keep rechecking on availability later on periodically.

So anybody that has been told no availability over the last few days; please recheck! We had 4 reservations basically gone wrong because of this, so perhaps others have been impacted by this also that might now "magically" find room in the proverbial inn. :wizard:
 
but at first I did get no availabilty and then minutes later on the same call I was able to get the roll-in shower.

My concern was that my original ressie did not have it correct to begin with and because I called about something else I doubled checked it all.

I was gald to catch the error now and it was rectified. I even called back the same day to check one more time and everything seemed fine. I'll do one more call closer to the trip to make sure nothing funky occurred in between time.

I think if you have special requests you need to check more now. I just don't trust the system anymore.
