Maddy: Killed or died in accident, but not kidnapped?

How accurate and what the suspicions are may depend upon how much Portugal feels under fire. I can remember a lot of erroneous leaks, bad leads and false imformation from Aruba, when they felt under fire due to the Natale Holloway case.

As for the blood -- my guess is they found a bit of blood on a wall. Probably a small spot of blood. Enough that you might normally miss it if you weren't looking for or at it. My guess is that there's blood spots on our hardwood floors, on a carpet fiber, on a bathroom wall, in the grout of the floor tile that we can't detect. You cut yourself, you hobble to the bathroom and don't notice that tiny bit of blood that fell on the carpet, hardwood, hit the floor or got onto the wall b/c it was too small to really notice. Plus, you prob. weren't looking for it in your efforts to bandage yourself up. Put a special lamp and it's going to turn up.

I'm off to read the article to see if it says how much blood was found. My guess ... a tiny pinprick of a spot.

Did they find the blood on the wall recently? It seems to me that would be something that the police would look for immediatly after a child was kidnapped, rather than wait several months to go looking for it. :confused3

In the meanwhile, they changed the article in the online version of De Standaard, the newspaper I read. I must admit I haven't translated the Portuguese ones.

The changed article says now that Murrat is still prime suspect nr 1. He has a blond daughter, 4yo, who lives in the UK while he lives in Portugal, and he misses her terribly.

Time will tell what happened. Or not.
