Macy's Parade without Mickey?

I am sure it would pain Disney greatly to pay money to be in an NBC broadcast.

It sure didn't pain them to charge NBC handsomely for the priveledge of hosting the Network premiere of "The Incredibles".

There were so many characters in the Philly parade! I loved the float with Cinderella's Castle and the Christmas performance they did.

We are out on LI and my kids ask to go in to the parade every year. I keep telling them one year we will. What time do you get there to get a good spot? I'm thinking 5 am or so. We are heading in for the Christmas Spectacular on 12/12 and I am stressed about the parking for that let alone for the Macy's Thanksgiving parade!!

i got there at 6:30 (at around 44th st) and pretty much all the good spots were taken. the good weather didn't keep anyone away. i sorta lucked out with my spot which was in the middle of the street (closed off).

I always forget to tape the Philly parade. My family goes to the parade every year and sits right near city hall, the performances take place at the viewing stand several blocks away at the Art Museum. Next year I'll have to tape it, i don't want to miss any Disney performances! Mickey's float with Cindy's castle was rather lovely, I'll have to post my pictures later.

Yes. The cast of Mary Poppins did perform. They sung Supercali......... however that is spelled.

And for the Disney question....Macys puts all balloons under contract for a number of years. Disney didn't do a Mickey balloon, therefore no Mickey.
