Please help. I need a umbrella stroller for my 3 yr old, 40lbs 40inches. I know the weight limit is 55lbs on the 2004 & 2005 models. I have tried to find these strollers in stores and I cannot find them in our area. Disney is probably the only time we will use the stroller. DD walks when we go shopping or to the zoo.
Which stroller do you prefer?
Can someone measure the seat for me? How tall is the back portion and how long is the seat?
Thank you!!!

I can't tell you the measurements but I found the Volo and Quest at Target and the Volo, Triumph, and Quest at Babies R Us. Based on recommendations here and test driving them at the store we went with a 2004 Quest. I just ordered from Albeebaby.com for $129 and I just hope it gets here on time!

I agree, IMHO, that of those 3 the Quest is the best for a taller, heavier child. I like the cushioning, the basket, the raincover, the reclining, and the canopy.

I also got it at www.albeebaby.com for $129 and it came within a week! I tested them all first at Babies R Us.

I know the Quest wasn't one of your original you asked about - but that's my vote too. And when you are already spending $100 on a stroller $30 more isn't so much. I LOVE my quest.

I was thinking Volo or Triumph b/c they fold up like umbrella & have shoulder strap. How does the Quest fold and is there a shoulder strap?

The quest folds as small as the triumph - and it is an umbrella fold. It doesn't have a strap but it does have a carrying handle....and on another thread someone posted a link to a shoulder strap made for a combi and said if fit their maclaren too. We just purchased a travel bag for when we gate check it and then we have a shoulder strap when it's in the bag.

I purchased a Volo for my DD for this November trip and she is almost 7. Like your DD she does not need a stroller at home so I went with the most inexpensive one, the Volo, which meets our needs perfectly. I got our 2004 model for only $64 from www.babydealz.com . It doesnt have the canopy, but we are going in Nov. and I dont really see that it is essential for our needs. Our DD can wear glasses or a hat to keep sun off if needed just like she would be doing if she were walking. We went for the best deal for our $ since we really wont be using it except for Disney. I do LOVE the carrying strap and the lightness of the stroller. Also it pushes like a dream. Good luck with your search. :flower:

I love my Volo. Seat width (my measurement) is 13" between the posts, and seat height is about 19.5" from the bottom to the top of the mesh. My DD7 is about 45 lbs, and fits snugly (I wouldn't say tight) still.

The Volo is very lightweight, and you could carry or push it all day with little difficulty. I've dragged mine through WDW a few times, plus all over NYC with no problems whatsoever.

Hope this helps. Good luck on your trip!

Sincerely,

Len Testa

I recently bought the Triumph at Babies R Us for my 4 year old 43 lb. & 43" tall DS. I absolutely love it. It is the best stroller that I have ever owned. It came with the shade and rain cover. We went last early December and it was hot. You will need a visor for most times of the year. We took our old Jeep stroller this past April. The leg rest broke on our last day. My only regret was not buying this stoller 3 years ago. It took me 4 stollers to figure that one out. I think you will be happy with any McClaren stoller. They are all great!

I bought my 2 Triumph's this past May from Ebay. I got them for $89 each plus shipping...I LOVE them. I am tall and the handles were just the right height for no stooping. Folds like a dream! ( used them for my 4 year old and my 7 year old both are small/skinny side, but long and they did fine)
