Macho Man Randy Savage RIP

Apparently he had a heart attack while driving and crashed into a tree. Not a wrestling fan myself, but hate to see anyone go that way, must have been scary.

I can't help but wonder if the years of steroid use finally caught up with his heart?

Wrestlers sure die young. O & A have a bit going where they try to make it 100 days without a wrestler dying. It has been going for about 3 years now and they haven't made it.

She died of a drug overdose a while ago. It seems like a lot of former wrestlers just love the drugs.

She dies in 2003, cause of death was pain killers and vodka. She was dating (dont think they were married) Lex Luger. And 2 months before her death he was charged with battery so who knows what really happened...

Wow that was a surprise! My brother has been a fan of WWf/E since he was 12 (he's now 37). I just called him to tell him. He was very shocked! My brother can still do a very good imitation of Randy Savage.

Oh wow. I remember seeing Macho Man Randy Savage at a number of matches way back in the 80's. My friends and I loved the melodrama of pro wrestling. Haven't watched it since those days. Always loved Randy Savage. He was such a great character. Very sad to hear of his passing.

May he RIP. I was a big fan in the 80's complete with posters of Ricky Steamboat-who I was going to marry and the Rock n Roll Express.

It was sad when Miss Elizabeth died and her with Lex Luger.eeewwww. not saying Macho man was a catch either, but I liked when she was with him. beauty and the beast sort of thing.

I was a huge WWF/E fan as a kid. I remember my cousins would come over and we'd all sit around the big screen and watch the Royal Rumble lol.

We always cheered for Hogan but Macho Man was a legend. so sad to hear of his passing

I met the Macho Man at a meet and greet many (20+?) years ago. I was surprised that he was barely larger than me (5'8", 175# at the time).

He definately had a good schtick. Ohhhhhhh-Yeahhhhhhhh

This is one of those celebrity deaths that hit me pretty hard. I've been watching wrestling for over 25 years, pretty much all of my life. I've seen Randy perform so many times, I've lost count. On 2 occasions I was able to meet, and talk with him at length. Yes, he was in character, but you really got a feeling that he was a genuinely nice guy outside of his character, as well.

Today is a sad day, indeed.

For those interested, he does have a Disney connection...He did the voice of "Thug" in Bolt, as well as the short animated film Super Rhino from the Bolt DVD. He also did the voice of El Machismo in the Cars Race-O-Rama video game.
