I read someplace, probably on these boards, that Disney serves Stouffers mac and cheese- does anyone know if that is true? Does any restaurant make their own? It does seem pretty consistent throughout.

Our middle son (a pre-teen) is a self-proclaimed Disney mac and cheese expert and plans to start his own mac and cheese blog after our next trip! I have not personally tried much mac and cheese at Disney, other than the adult mac and cheese at Chef's de France (excellent!) and the stouffer's type at Liberty Tree (not excellent, in my opinion!) But he thinks that the mac and cheese is not the same everywhere at WDW. His favorite is the mac and cheese on the kids' menu at California Grill, which he calls the best mac and cheese not only at Disney but at any restaurant. He also likes the mac and cheese at Garden Grill quite a bit. He ranks the mac and cheese at Liberty Tree and 50's Prime Time somewhere in the middle.

Hope that helps!

The mac and cheese at WolfGang Puck's Express was GREAT on our 09 trip! We actually had it twice, was NOT stouffers.
But on our last trip it was a little dry I was a bit dissapointed, IDK if they changed the recipe since we last visited? :confused3

ok..sounds like there may be more to the m & c at the world. Maybe it was the kids mac that was Stouffers :confused3 because I would guess the adults could tell the difference between the good stuff.

I believe that Liberty Tree serves Stouffers mac n cheese. The rest of the world it does vary. I do agree though that the Chefs de France is awesome mac and cheese!

I saw a show on the Food Network once that said the mac & cheese was kid-tested and picked by a panel of kids who tried about 5 or 6 different recipes.

A lot of the buffets (not all), Liberty Tree Tavern, and many of the kids counter service options are in fact Stouffers. There are other locations that make their own. Personally I like Stouffer's Mac & Cheese, so I'm not offended by it (plus, a LOT of food at restaurants everywhere is pre-made.)

That being said, there's nothing better than a gourmet, homemade mac & cheese :) Check out this blog post: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2011/01/02/disney-food-trends-gourmet-mac-and-cheese/

I saw that show too. I never paid too close attention to differences between restaurants, but I am a mac & cheese lover and self-proclaimed connoisseur (even at age 25). I do remember having LTT's on more than one occasion. I've had lots of stouffer's mac & cheese and I don't think that's what it was. It was OK.
