hello again...
I did some googling...:duck:again... and would love to get some confirmation or updates...

I read about those secret menu items and I was wondering if those are still available or outdated because most info I found was from last year and I don't know how quickly those change ... and I don't wanna build up anticipation just to find out they are discontinued...so I hope maybe someone here might have any recent experiences...

I am in particular interested in that Mac and cheese in a sourdough bread bowl at pacific Wharf cafe. That one sounds to good to be true! :lovestruc
I am just purely in love with all those bread bowls, so that one would be a must do if it is still available...

Any other interesting "secret" dishes? ( I wont drink any alcohol there, so those secret ones are out anyways...)

Thanks!

We had Mac & Cheese in a sourdough bread bowl at Le Brea in Downtown Disney. It sounds really good in theory but it was really...weird and not that great. A couple weeks ago my DD had Tomato Soup in a Bread Bowl from Pacific Wharf and ended up having to fight the rest of us off because we kept reaching over and tearing off pieces of her dinner. :rotfl: I’m sure that’s not a lot of help but my advice would be to order one “test bowl” of Mac and Cheese rather than for everyone.

My youngest just ordered the mac n’ cheese bread bowl from Pacific Wharf Cafe a couple weeks ago, so you should be good to go!

I believe they discontinued the only other secret menu item I heard people rave about - the ice cream nachos from The Golden Horseshoe.

Thanks for the word of caution... we usually splitt and share anyways so it should work out... tomato soup sounds interesting as well... might give it a try...

Thanks! Sounds good...
So I‘ll definitely gonna try to order it...
( I also read about the discontinued ice cream nachos...)

Mac N Cheese bread bowl at Pacific Wharf is a go to meal for me. The Mac N Cheese there tastes different to me than the rest of the resort so I only get it there. I'm what most call a picky eater, but in reality I just am a super taster with texture issues. I do my best to not let it affect others I'm with.

It's not something that I could see ever being taken off the "secret" menu as they would have to remove Mac N Cheese from the toddler meal. It's not any extra work either and keeps the Mac N Cheese fresh if adults are eating it too.

The trick for me is getting it "on the side". This puts the Mac N Cheese in a separate cup and leaves the bread untainted. I used to just get a loaf of bread to eat before I discovered I liked this particular location's way of making their Mac N Cheese. I highly recommend it.

"On the side" is a bread bowl trick for us, too. (Hi, Kender! Long time, no see!) We ask for the bread on the side with all our bread bowl orders and ask for lots of butter to go with it. That way we can share soup and/or salad, with lots of sourdough bread and butter on the side. It just seems to make the meal more complete and filling for everyone. (And the ducks don't mind, either!)

We have had the Mac and cheese bread bowl as well- most of the time it is good. Last year my entire family wanted one and I think they were almost out of Mac and cheese b/c we ended up with soupy cheese and like 5 noodles per bread bowl. Not so great at all.

That is a pretty good idea to get the bread on the side! :thanks: so I'll try to ask for the as well...
I didn't know you could get butter to go with it... sounds delicious... so that is definitely a great tip!

I just just hope I'll remember everything I wanna ask for when ordering...:teeth: It is always exiting to order in your second language anyways...

There's also a chilli mac and cheese bowl at Coke Refreshment corner on main street

oh, really? that sounds great as well... good to know for sure! ... It is worth a try as well...

I guess I wont go to bed hungry...:mickeybar

My family always orders bread bowls with soup and my daughters with the Mac and cheese. We would never order on the side as we love the bread soaking up the goodness!!!

Hi !!!

I'm at my busy time of year with work so only glancing at these boards, lol! I definitely lurk, though. All this talk of Mac N Cheese at Pacific Wharf is making me itch to get back to DLR! Probably won't get back until October, though, if that.

And so yes on the lots of butter! My mom sometimes changes up what she gets for a meal so the way I get my meal allows her to still enjoy some bread. The best part of food is sharing it with loved ones <3.

I've also taken the bread back to my hotel if I wasn't very hungry (and still grab tons of butter!). It's a nice treat in the evening/morning. It having nothing on it allows it to travel better.

You can even ask for a bag for the bread if you would like and for it "to go" (this gives you a lid for the soup/Mac N Cheese/whatever filling you got). I've done this for watching shows sometimes so I don't have to worry about spilling.

And goodness! I can't even imagine ordering in a second language! You have my huge respect being able to do that.

I almost forgot. It's not a mac and cheese bowl, but Royal Street Veranda has the clam chowder in a bread bowl too. That's my favorite!
