Well it has been 10 months since we got back from our 2010 holiday.
Should maybe start that TR huh? ;)

Well technically I have started it, it just needs to be typed, and what better time to start than now, while we plan next years hol and keep the magic alive :wizard:

Be kind this is my first ever TR. There is no PTR.

14 glorious days in the Florida sunshine :goodvibes 12 Disney devoted days  a Seaworld adventure  and 1 crazy shuttle driver.

Let's start with the introductions shall we?
We were a party of 4. Here is moi:

Lovely eh? DBF should be a photographer. My name is Sarah, I am 24 and I have been a Disneyholic for 23 years. I need my daily dose of pixie dust. And I mean I neeeeeed it! This was my 5th Florida WDW holiday. I wear my Mickey ears with pride.

Guest numero 2, DBF, also 24, fellow Disney lover, I got lucky there. This was his 4th Disney trip.

Next up is my delightful little (well younger) sister. Constantly providing the laughs through out the trip and has a cute crush on a certain space ranger!

She's the blondie.

And last but not least we have our dear friend, bless, who has never, I repeat, never been to WDW in her life.

I was excited to be her tour guide! So much to show, so little time!
Where to start?! Oh yeah! Magic Kingdom! Where else of course? However, we needed to get there first, and that turned out to be a bit of a problem...

So someone got a crazy idea that we should go to Florida one night and the next thing I know I am in a travel agents booking the trip of a lifetime with my sister and matey. August 27th 2010 could not come quick enough! But this was September 2009, we had a bit of a wait. So what! That meant nearly a year to get far too excited! And boy were we excited! A month later we got bad news, Globespan, the airline we'd booked with, had gone bust. :scared1: My heart sank. But hoorah! Oh our lovely travel agents reassured us that we would be booked with another airline AND get our money back! Continetal became our new saviour. I was abit weary though, I hadn't really heard of them before. But a lovely parent, at the school I work at, works for them, came to my rescue and reassured me that they were very good and even upgraded our seats! So the (holi)day was saved! Florida here we come!
Money was saved and recieved. Excitement grew and grew. The next thing I knew the taxi was at my front door and bam we were on our way! Quickest year ever!
We were 2nd inline to check in, that never happens! Cheerio cases! See you in Newark! Edinburgh airport was quite quiet which was nice. We grabbed a quick snack and the next thing I know we were boarding. While in line an air hostess came up to us, "Are you the K party?". I looked at her weary, what had we done?? Ahhhh. "Yesss." I replied, "Oh great! Mrs T says have a fantastic holiday!" and off she went. How lovely! That was the name of the parent who had upgraded our seats. I'd be sure to get her daughter something special at Disney! :lovestruc
Our flight was exceptional. Food was fantastic! Really! :cloud9: I had chicken in a tomato sauce with rice. Mmmmm. DBF had lasagne but I think he would have rather had mine. One of the air hostesses asked if we'd like a drink, "Pepsi please" I grinned. Once I had my drink I noticed she was pouring a tomato juice, I nudged DBF, "Yuk!" He laughed. Then she passed it to the person behind me, dear friend! "Um thanks" I peeked at her through our chairs, she looked at me "I asked for a sprite" I nearly wet myself. "I'll just drink it!" Blair, the lovely Canadian DSis and DF were sharing a row with intervened "'Scuse me Ma'am the yound lady asked for a Sprite not a tomato juice" The air hostess and DF blushed "Why sorry ma'am it's the accent" First comical moment of the holiday! Poor Blair though, was introduced to the 'Biebs' by DSis as they were 'fellow Canadians'.

sprite.jpg
Mmm Sprite.

We arrived at Newark, bid goodbye to new Justin Bieber fan Blair, flew through customs, and were very excited to be in New York! Tourists I know :lmao: We had 3 hours to kill, and surprise surprise they flew past! I couldn't believe our luck.

After another perfect flight we arrived in Orlando at 20:50. Earlier than scheduled by half an hour. I was estatic. What a great start to our trip of a lifetime! We got to our hotel, The Fairfield Inn, Marriott Village, Lake Buena Vista, at 22:05, 2 rooms booked. "Uh sorry Ma'am, I only have 1 room under your reservation" Uh there it is. I knew my luck wouldn't last! I showed him our voucher which clearly states 2 rooms. "Sorry" he shrugged. Next thing I know Mr Managers over with the line "Everything all right here folks?" After explaining everything again another room magically appears! Thank goodness! Bed time guys! Tomorrow we hit the Magic Kingdom!
I can not wait! :lovestruc

Day 1 - The Magic Kingdom

Saturday 28th August 2010
Hello jetlag! Fancy seeing you here! Wow I struggled to get uo even though 7am was 12pm to me, how does that happen?!? :confused3 Anyway:confused3
I should have be up and raring to go! 5 more minutes...

After dragging myself into the shower, it hit me! We were in Florida! I was going to see Mickey today! That was the burst of energy that I needed.
We were meeting sister and friend at 9am for breakfast. I was looking forward to making my own waffles! But when we walked into the breakfast area there was no beeping to be heard. Oh well, bagels for me. Our shuttle was at 10:15. As soon as we stepped outside the heat hit like a brick wall. It was certainly roasty toasty! The transport had changed since we'd last been to the Fairfield. Instead of a coach there were 4 14 seater shuttles. Hmm oh well as long as we get on. "Magic Kingdom bus lane 1!" bellowed a scarily bulky lady, and well didn't everyone just run for it! Eh hello! We were stuck on a kerb with another family. I asked if another shuttle for MK would be provided. "Huh? sure" came the reply. And a gleaming private taxi zoomed up, looks like we were starting our day in style! Fine by me! I can't believe how nervous I was.

mk-1.jpg

Traveling in style!

I had butterflies. :hippie: The smile on my face had never been bigger. DBF squeezed my hand. The purple and green signs flew past. Bam we were there! I had to stop myself from running to the will-call window. We got our tickets one at a time. Dear friend was behind me, so I whispered to the CM that we had a first timer with us. I recieved my Goofy ticket. It was like gold to me. DF came running over "Loooooook what I got!" She was holding 3 "I'm Celebrating!" buttons and a 1st visit button for herself! We fixed on our buttons with pride.

1stvisit.jpg

Right guys! Monorail time! Monorail gold pulled up. "Is this a scary ride?" asked my dear friend. I smiled "This is one of the best rides of the day!" As Space Mountian came into view she was starstruck  Then the station past, her gob fell open. The door swooshed open and we headed to the ramp, excitement took over, myself and dear friend ran and giggled down the ramp. We got some funny looks but we didn't care! A quick bag check, "I love your accent!", then it was entering the park time! We went throught the tunnel and DF was in awe. I squeezed DBF's hand. We were really here. I can't remember the name of the song but the cheery tune from Wall-E was playing in the background, and I nearly burst with happiness. It was truly a perfect moment. I sneaked a glance at DF, her camera was flashing away. I knew she'd love it.

I'm going to have to stop there, that big ole pile of ironing is calling to me :laundy:

Shall finish later

Sarah

Everyone was smiling like old Ches. I was truely in my happy place. First ride of the day - POTC!

How could it not be? I love me some Capn' Jack :lovestruc
Pirate Goofy was at the entrance. Dear friend stopped in her tracks. "You can get your photo with him" I said. "For real?" came the reply. "Go for it! You're in Disney!" First magical moment of the day. :wizard:

RiandGoofyandClay.jpg

Walking down the corridors to the boats the butterflies where doing somersaults. It was a walk on. Dude we are really here! I squeezed DBF's hand again, this was a regular occurance today, as if to reassure me. We always go down the righthand side. I'm not too sure why but it's our daft tradition now. After yo-ho-hoing and after dragging me from the gift shop it was time for ride number 2. For some reason I've never been a big adventure land fan so we headed to Frontier land and straight for a certain mountain. "Do you get wet?" asked the ever so niave dear friend. "Em I can't remember" I smiled. ;)
20 minutes wait. Not too shabby. Dear friend was in awe of the themeing in the queue. Mouth wide, eyes wide, it was an attractive sight :lmao:
On we jumped, me and DBG row 2, DF and DSis row 1. Well I had to let the newbie go in front didn't I ;) We sang, we jiggled, we got soaked! And I mean wet to the pants soaked! (Pants = underwear keep forgetting Americans call trousers pants) "So worth it!" squeled a rather wet DF "What's next?" I grinned "Well after you've done your washing you need to dry it off!" DF looked at me as if I'd gone round the bend. 15 minutes wait for Big Thunder Mountain! We were doing good for times! And it turned out to be a walk on. We all squeled our heads off. I had forgotten how fun BTM could be. I am ashamed to admit but during my previous trip in '08 I had became a total ride phobe. :( I would not go near Space Mountain, Buzz(!), Dinosaur, EE, TOT, BTM, Haunted Mansion*, Mission Space or Test Track. I have no idea what came over me. But I had to be brave and BTM proved I could do it! When we came off we passed this on the ground:

How cool!

We strolled over to the Country Bear Jamborree, now this I could miss, but it was getting toasty and the rest was totally apreciated. Rianne laughed like a loon! It was nice to see it as it had been closed our past two visits. Big Al ain't changed any.

BigAl.jpg

DF was studying the map, "Ooooh Haunted Mansion!" I knew I'd went quiet. This ride is not my friend. I know hundreds of people love it but thanks to my loving father it is a ride I will never ever ever ride again. *Insert tramatising childhood story here* Thanks Dad!
This gave me 20 minutes to myself. Time to wonder and window shop. And run to the loo. Hey a lot of water was being consumed!
They turned out to be less than 20 mins and I was met by 3 grumpy looking peeps, sorry I didn't realise I wasn't allowed to have a nosey while I waited!
It's a Small World was closed for refurb. Although I knew this before we left I was still disappointed. I wanted to show DF it's 'charm'. So off to Philharmagic we went. DF is a Donald-holic, she actually whimpered when he shot across the room into the wall. I reasured her he was fine and she'd meet him soon! What a challenge that became, more on that later though. As much as I love Philharmagic I still miss the Lion King attraction that was there. We headed over to Tomorrowland, ugh that smell of petrol hit me. Speedway. 10 minutes wait. Really?!?! We went for it. I always get a bad headache from the fumes and the heat while waiting but had a shot anyway. I'm not allowed to drive :lmao: And I can't drive at home anyway but that's not the reason, I just can't keep that car straight! :rolleyes1

47212_10150272369920304_539355303_14796823_473728_n.jpg

We saw Buzz had a 5 minute wait. This was great! I was a little nervous, Buzz was something totally new for me. Little did I know it was like TSMM! I loved it! I'm sure I bet DBF! His face was a picture. We came out and there he was, Mr Buzz Lightyear himself! DSis and DF got inline, me and DBF went for a drink. Toy Story has always been DSis's favourite so she just had to get a pic with Buzz. It was her 20th birthday the day before we had came and I had given her a Buzz and Woody birthday badge to wear at the parks, just something different. The CM with Buzz asked DSis how old she'd turned, DSis answered "20" the CM looked quizzed "21?" DSis replied no "20" "21?" "20" "21?" 20!" "Oh dear you want to be 21 not 20!" Still to this day I have no idea what that was about! Buzz loved Claire's badge! Maybe abit too much! ;)

After our Lightyear encounter we grabbed some lunch at Cosmic Ray's. Everyone had chilli cheese fries. This is when I missed my mum, she loved CC fries. So I sent her a pic. We walked round to Monster's Inc Laughfloor. 5 mins. Amazing. Typically we got to the door and it closed. More than 5 minutes then :lmao: But it was fine. Boy were the people who were chosen to be apart of the show a boring bunch! No good interaction at all. I was a little disappointed. Especially with the guy who was Sulley! He was having a great time in the queue joking with everyone but went quiet on screen. Oh well.

We strolled over to Toontown, I wish I knew now it'd be going I would have taken more pictures. DF was in awe again. I love the houses and just feel so at home here. We went into the giant store and I bought a Marie notebook and a plush Marie in a blanket, I have the Simba but left him at home so of course I needed a replacement ;)
Somehow we ended up from Toontown back to POTC! No wait so we rode again. I was good and bought nothing from the gift shop. But I found myself spending longer than nessecary looking at the pins.
Peter Pan was a wait of 25 mins. Not bad, we waited in line. Grumpy children in this line with even grumpier parents made the wait feel longer than it was.
We missed the parade, no idea how. DF wasn't bothered though, she obviously hadn't youtube's the parades! I knew it could wait til another day. We rode Snow White, it was scarier than I remembered! But then I guess the clues in the name ;)
We wandered back over to Tomorrowland and the heavens opened. Drenched in seconds. Space Mountain was a 20 minute wait so we ran over. It ended up being 40 mins as everyone had the same idea but we got to try out the new games so that was a good laugh. DF got very competitive with a small child! :rotfl:
After another ride on Buzz (no wait!) we were feeling peckish again. Back to Cosmic Ray's as it was close and no one fancied running far in that rain. It was quite empty and it must have only been 8pm.
DBF asked if we could go on the People Mover. It was nice to be off our feet and to sit back and watch the world go by, no one seemed fazed by the rain. We had invested in $7 ponchos. Attractive.
I noticed time was marching on and we'd have to find a spot for Wishes. The streets were already crowded. The rain was not giving up. And then came the announcement, Wishes and Spectromagic would not be able to perform tonight. Aw well we had 14 days we'd see it at some point.
Heading for the Monorail I turned to DF, "Well, what do you think?" I asked.
" I am in LOVE" she grinned. :lovestruc We linked arms and hopped on the Monorail back to the TTC.

Hmm I am using photobucket for my pictures but they are not showing up.
Help?

**Ignore me figured it out
***Realise I'm talking to myself... Oh well

Sunday 29th August 2010

Today we were heading to Disney's Hollwood Studio. There was no Toy Story Mania dash for us as it was closed for refurb. But was set to be opening again during our trip so I wasn't too disappointed to miss it today. :)
For some reason we ended up walking for awhile. The jetlag and heat were getting to us :dance3:

The Muppets came into sight and so we dawdled in for a visit with Kermit and the gang. I think I love the preshow more than the actual show :rotfl: I love the theme of this attraction. DF had a mini heart attack when Sweetum's came looking for the bunny. (His name has fallen out of my head atm!)
We browsed the Muppet gift shop. This is my favourite gift shop on property. I don't know why but I feel all warm when I visit it. :lovestruc

ton.jpg

Star Tours was next, I am so glad I got to ride this one more time before it's big refurb. I love being jilted about. Weirdo that I am. :rolleyes1
DF didn't enjoy it as much and said it hurt her neck. It was a walk on as well. I thought it would be busier as it was closing in a few days.

We moved on to the Great Movie ride. There was no queue so I couldn't admire the film props as we were being ushered along. Gangster scene for us today. There must have been about 8 people in our car. Very quiet. I love this ride and when people argue that it should be updated and older scenes taken out it upsets me. We musn't forget these great movies. By taking them out people may forget and that itself is sad :( Although get rid of Alien, I have to close my eyes and put my head on my knees at that bit. Terrifies me.

DF had her trusted map out again and was grinning. I knew that grin. "Tower of Terror! You have to come on Sarah! For meeee!" Ah. No way jose. Maybe next year ;)
I went and got fp's for RnR and had a nosey in the shops while they rode.
Hmm here were those things again, that had been in every store we'd been in. Vinylmation. DBF had been eyeing them up. We didn't know what they were. I bought him a keyring and popped it in my bag. I'd give him it later.
Here they came bobbing along. Well DBF and DSis were bobbing, DF was looking grey. I asked if she was ok. "It was greaaatt!" :rotfl: Ok if you say so!

DSis was adament that we would go to Pizza Planet for lunch (Toy Story obsessed) I for one hate Pizza. And what did she get me. Pizza. Bleh. I managed half. Luckily she gotten us a small salad too so I had her's and mine. Me and DSis came up wth a plan at lunch and dinner one of us would buy for the both of us to save time queuing and it worked well most of the time.

After lunch we used our fp's for RnR. The wait time was 45 mins. It was great walking past the queue. What a laugh we had. I sat with DF and she screamed and sang at the same time! Great times.

braw.jpg

Another great photo by DBF.

Pixar's Block Party Bash was about to start so we found a spot to watch.
Did you know this show was dangerous!:rotfl: DSis was attacked by foam balls! One hit her right in the back and left a small red mark. We laughed it off and all kept a ball. DBF fished 2 out the fountain for twin girls that were watching beside us. They were so happy. :cutie

bpb.jpg

injury-1.jpg

DSis with her attacker.

The Voyage of the Little Mermaid was starting in 10 mins so we decided that would be a good break. A cute little show. I was next to an adorable wee boy who told me he loved Ariel and he was going to marry her. :lovestruc I told him I hope he would let her know that and he informed me he already had! :rotfl: Bless.

We went on the Backlot Tour next. I admired the props from the Black Pearl for awhile before being dragged up the ramp. We had a great preshow today! An older gentleman was chosen for the show and he was a gem! So into his role and played his part brilliantly! We fell in love with him! :upsidedow
Here he is!

welovehim.jpg

I wish I could remember his name!

We made our way to the trams. I let DF go in first :thumbsup2 "Why's the seat wet?" she questioned. "Oh it must have been raining". I am evil :lmao:
Safe to say she got soaked! I can't remember it ever having that much water! Yes I did feel bad. A little. I was sad to see they changed the scene. I much preffered being 'onset' by mistake!

Time was marching on again, the downside to staying offsite is that the shuttle had set times to return and we were leaving at 19:30 so after a quick visit to Indy we head to leave.

An older CM was sweeping up rubbish near us when he came over and smiled at DF, "My, Ma'am, your shoelaces are undone" DF smiled "Oh thanks for letting me know!" and stooped down to tie them. I thought the CM was going to wet himself, she was wearing flip flops, we all fell about in a fit of giggles "You Ma'am, are the only person to fall for that today, you have made my day" I turned to the CM "No sir, you have made OUR day!"

Our shuttle was late :headache: This turned out to be a habit.
We grabbed a quick bite at the hotel food court and all turned in for the night. Back at our room I was emptying my bag when I found a small box. The keyring vinylmation! I had forgotten all about it. I gave it to DBF. He grinned. He gave me a small box. A keyring vinylmation! We both laughed. He got Buzz and I got Woody! An addiction was born!

Loving your trip report! Looking forward to reading more...

Monday 30th August 2010

Epcot day today! I absolutely love Epcot. I appreciate so much more now that I am older. When I step in to that park I feel truely happy and content.

Our shuttle wasn't until 10.15. Which turned out to be fine as we were struggling to get up this trip. No rope drops for us. Next year though ;)

Me and DSis went down for breakfast, we stepped into the room and were met by the lovely beep-beep-beeping sound of the waffle machines! They were back! They were also ridiculously busy so peanut butter and a bagel for me again!

Rob was our shuttle driver today, a quiet but polite young man who always asked what our plans were for the day and when picking up at night asking what we did, did we have a magical time. He was much nicer than scary bulky lady.
As we approached Epcot DF squeaked "There's the giant golfball!"
Rob turned to face her "Awww hell naw! Girl you did not just say that. That ain't no giant golfball! That is Spaceship Earth! Those indentations are just for slowing rainfall" DF looked sheepish, Rob grinned at her "Have a ride for me" DF looked stunned "It's a ride?" Rob now look stunned and turned to me "Take your girl out my taxi". :rotfl: :lmao:

We shuffled along and entered the park and headed straight for Soarin'.
Oh a big golfball :)
epcot-2.jpg

epcot2.jpg

These guy were just chillin' out.
ducks.jpg

I love how they are lined up along the beam.

As we made our way down for Soarin' I braced my self for a giant wait time (120 mins when I was last here) ... 5 minutes I couldn't believe it. And even then it was just a case of walking to the loading area. We were row C.
I had read on here to ask for A(?) so you don't have dangling feet but we had a clear view. I love this ride. Me and DSis joked that the paraglider was our friend L who was unable to join us. We made a point of saying hi to L everytime we rode.

Living with the Land was next. Just as it was there and we weren't feeling like running here there and everywhere for fast passes for TT and MS etc. It's a lovely little ride through which I really enjoy but DBF found it boring. When we were leaving a lady told DBF to 'smile you're in Disney!' and gave us 4 fp's for Soarin'! She smiled and said "we're heading to MK anyway enjoy!" We thanked her and used them then, saying hi to L again.

DF begged to do Nemo so we walked over seeing as it was nearby.
seagulls-1.jpg

Hey guys!

We spent such a long time here looking at all the different displays that it was lunchtime before we knew it. Feeling peckish we had Pretzels and Popcorn. My mum would be glad to see we were eating healthy :rotfl
FYI not the best lunch to roam the park on. Just sayin'

Oo got to stop there DF's coming down for movie night =]

More later

Sarah

Same here, I remember dreading Epcot when I was a little girl. I love it now it is my favorite park.

 Ugh sorry I haven't finished my update on Epcot. Been sick with this horrible sickness bug going about. :headache:

I'm away next weekend but hopefully I will get up to date before I go. :goodvibes
