MA holiday in June?

I know that there is a holiday that only MA celebrates. Is it bunker hill day? Does anyone know what day it falls on? I am trying to make anniversary plans!

Only certain counties in MA celebrate Bunker Hill day. The holiday that you are thinking of is called Patriots' Day, and it falls in April. It is also Marathon Monday All of MA celebrates Patriots' Day.

Hi,

It's Bunker Hill Day; it's June 17th next year, which is a Saturday. I don't know if it will be celebrated on Friday. It's not a Holiday for most people. Some businesses in Boston might be closed. Basically it's a holiday for state and municipal(sp) employees.

There is two that I learned about when I moved to MA. Bunker Hill day is mostly a Boston holiday and I think it is June 17th. Patriots Day is a whole state holiday. It is in April. It is the Monday of the Boston Marathon and honestly most people I know just think of it as marathon day but it is pretty crowded in the Boston/Brookline area.

Thanks for the responses. DH teaches in Beantown so of course getting days off is tough since he has so many vacations and the summer as well. I just wanted to take a three day trip. I think I was thinking of Patriots day. Is April too soon to celebrate a June anniversary?!
