Not sure if this has been asked yet but does anyone have any insight into size limitations (not height) for M:S?

From the descriptions of the ride so far it seems like there may be issues for this one.

Anyone have any info?

hopefully this helps answer your question

I didn't like how when we were sent off to stand on the numbers... the numbers are VERY close to each other, and I felt kind of cramped. I like my personal space, you know? (By the way, I was not cramped at all inside the ride itself)

Hi, Its been on my mind also..

Im a bit on the large side, and it would be really embarrassing to get on a ride, only to find you cant shut the safety bar etc..omg..id die!

any info on other rides??

The warning size at the entrance states that "People of certain body shapes or sizes may not be able to ride".

This is what irrates me about theme parks. They make millions of dollars every year but can't make attractions that can accomodate every type of person.

I had a situation at Six Flags Great Adventure and wrote them a letter explaining my disgust. They did reply to my letter-by sending me discount tickets to their water park!!!

I hope that's not the case here!

Is that supposed to be funny?? Remember, people can't see or hear you...it comes across as being offensive....you might want to edit.

I'm a plus sized woman, and I'm sure that the "Shamu" remark was only said jokingly and not as an insult. On to my question...is there anywhere that we can find out how many inches the seats are? I do not want to find out at the last minute that my butt just won't fit!!! I can ride RnR and ToT with no problems, but this just seems too tight for comfort. I wish Disney would do what Sea World did with Kraken, and put a seat by the entrance that you can try on for size. This would sure help those of us that have alittle more to love. Oh and of course along with my big butt, I'm very well endowed, so how about those harnesses? Do I need to tape my puppies up or what? I have a sick feeling that me and many of my full figure sisters aren't going to be riding. DRATS!!!

:( I know the feeling of not fitting into a ride! I'm 6'8" and 265lbs. with bum knees,so I do not fit comfortably into ANY ride vehicle. It's a good thing WDW is such a great place. Otherwise, I'd be upset getting shoehorned into a ride and then not enjoying it!:(

I'm in the exact same boat as you and you know, I never thought about not being able to ride Mission:Space. I don't have problems with any other WDW ride, hope I don't have a problem with M:S in September, my little boy will be really disappointed if we can't ride it, now you all have got me worried.

I think it all depends on ride design and the restraint system. While my DH and I are plus sized I have never had any difficulty fitting on a ride but DH who has a broad and "barrell" chested had difficulty getting the overhead harness closed on RNRC. It also doesn't help that he is really long in the torso. Hopefully we will be able to ride in Sept.

But I second having "test" vehicles out front so you don't spend 2 hours in line only to be humiliated not being able to fit with everyone waiting for you.

I never thought about the test seats outside of the ride. Kings Island in Ohio started doing that with their new rides last year when they built the Tomb Raider Ride.:smooth:

Dangit. Now I'm worried too. What type of body shape is the wrong type to have when you are talking about M:S? I can ride RnR, BTMRR, SpM, SM, and darn near everything else at WDW. Please Lord, don't let my large *ss keep me from riding the most anticipated theme park ride of my life. Mickey

There is a sample ride vehicle at the very beginning of the queue. You can't get in it, but you should get a good idea of whether or not you'll fit.
I rode with a pretty large guy on Thursday and he didn't have any problems. Of course, he didn't have "puppies". :)

Obviously this must be a tighter ride since it is the first time Disney has put a sample vehicle out front. I think thats a good heads up for all of us pooh sized folks!

i believe but dont quote me on this that the restrictions are max of 6 ft 6 inches and aprox 300 lbs depending on shape. This is a very extreme ride and it is very confined. I am a cast member from test track and did some of the torture testing for the post show. I had a friend runnign the operation and got kinda a back stage show of the ride. i am 6 ft even and 260 lbs and it was a tight fit in the ride vehicles. There are no special accomidations for larger or smaller persons. There is not only a minimum hight like other rides but also a min weight. And just so everyone knows this is an extreamly extreme ride and at max speed puts 3.7 G forces on your body for over 2 minuites constant. Have fun guys and sorry to those that dont fit.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS!! this is one of the major reasons I love WDW so much - I can ride everything! As a pooh-sized guy, it has killed me that I can't go on the coasters at IOA. Now epcot gets a major new attraction, and I may not be able to go on it!

does anyone know how to email WDW to ask for some more info on this?

thanks for the help!

I can't understand why they wouldn't make it big enough for MOST people to ride. I know not everyone is big, but not everyone is small either. Hopefully I won't have a problem, I've gotten on all the IOA coasters, and RNR with no problem. (although the larger seats fit nice, as I have a big chest section)

That puzzles me too, and apparently means I won't be riding anytime soon (like until I get my weight down to Pooh size). There an an awful lot of large people in today's society, as unhealthy as we know it is. Is there some reason why the ride has to be so small that its a tight fit, or was it just a really poor design decision somewhere along the line?
