Lynn & Tim TR Oct 1-8.UPDATE 4/3 UPDATED. COMPLETE

Lynn - All caught up. I was so looking forward to seeing you as Darla and it was great. Congrats on your career change, I want to school for teaching myself but have to wait until DD3 is in school full time so I can go to school as well, three more years. I also want to run in the marathon one of these days but I don't run as of yet so it might take me a couple of years. So you'll be running in 2010? I can't wait to see the Halloween party.

Hi! Thank you very much.

That is so cool..mommy and daughter going to school. Good for you!

Yeah I will be running the 1/2 marathon in 2010.

Thank you! YAY I love that pic... That was like the biggest highlight from the HM besides the wedding LOL. OMG we were even lucky enough to catch the whole thing on video. So much fun!

I think I have checked out your TR right??? If not I'm on my way over.

You were with me on my September trippie but I don't think you've been to the new one yet. We just went right before Christmas. Totally different kind of trip, let me tell you. :goodvibes We're going back in 5 weeks too. I can't get enough of the place!

I LOVE the costume. Great idea. The shirt...the goldfish....perfect. I would have known who you were for sure.

I wish I'd known Goofy met people in his candy uniform!? Darn it. I had a blast at the MNSSHP. It's the best party by far!

Oh wow, the decorations are awesome! The monster in Tomorrowland is so cool!

Yeah an update!! :thumbsup2 I love the photos of the street actors at DHS, my DH loves those guys they are so funny! Love the Darla costume you were spot on!

I had to come check out your TR. It looks like you guys had such a blast. I absolutely loved your costume -- too cute! And Tim's pin collection...WOW. How cool is that? I just got hooked on pin trading in December '07 and it's so addictive!!! How many pins does he have?

Congrats on going back to school. I thought briefly thought about majoring in elementary education, but instead Best of luck!!

Lynn I am loving your pictures, especially of the MK at Halloween..I can't even imagine how cool it is. And that picture of you as Darla :) *thumbs up*

These pictures are making me want to go to Disney NOW!!!

oh I love the monster on the building.

So cool and cute hehehe

I so wanna go there for Halloween. But as a teacher, I never get to go. boo

Great update! Everything looks so cute!
When I was in my Education classes, I didn't find them that hard, but it's a lot of work. They are trying to teach you all the "right" ways of doing things, and a lot of it isn't necessarily practical when you're actually in the classroom. I didn't have to deal with the math though. I took the Miller's Analogy Test as to avoid the math! hahahha I teach English, so math isn't my strong suit either. If you're teaching the little ones, the biggest time thing is the planning. You will have to plan for every minute of everyday. They can't handle time leftover. My biggest time issue is correcting. With 5 high school English classes, including on Advanced Placement class, it's an insane amount of papers. Also...don't listen to the people who claim it's an easy job because of the vacation time! There's plenty of them, and my desire is to turn around and ask why they don't do it! I'm happy to talk about teaching though!

Hey Kristianne

Also a high school teacher here.

So understand what you mean ;)

Loving the trip report Lynn! Here is a little something for all you Tonga Toast lovers.

Ingredients:

* 1 cup sugar
* 2 teaspoons cinnamon
* 1 loaf sourdough bread (8 inches long)
* 2 bananas, peeled
* 1 quart canola oil, for frying

Preparation:
1. Mix the sugar and cinnamon with a fork until thoroughly blended; set aside.
2. Slice the bread into four 2-inch-thick slices.
3. Cut each banana in half crosswise, then each piece lengthwise.
4. Place a bread slice flat on the counter and tear out just enough from the middle (do not tear all the way through) to stuff half a banana into it; repeat with each slice of bread.
5. In a large pot or deep fryer, heat the oil to 350 degrees F; use a candy thermometer to make certain the oil doesn't get any hotter, or it will burn.
6. Gently place one bread slice into the oil for 1 minute, or until light brown.
7. Turn and fry for another minute on the other side.
8. Remove bread from the pot and toss it in the sugar and cinnamon mixture.
9. Repeat for each piece.
