Little Intermission To Go Over Cosmetic Products :)

Okay, so most of my products are Dior and Clinique. I know... one end of the spectrum to the next---but I'm oddly sensitive to certain fragrances (and very oily) and I've found my niche :cutie: I also dabble at Sephora and Ulta... but I'm pretty loyal to Dior... mostly because I've worked for them for a longgg time.

I didn't have a plan, nor had I practiced. I just sat down with a cup of tea and started "painting."

Face Wash: Clinique Acne Solutions with Clarisonic Deep Pore Brush
Toner: Clinique Clarifying Lotion #4
Serum: Clinique Turnaround
Moisturizer: Clinique Zero Gravity Oily/Combo
Eye Creme: Dior L'or de Vie (this is my splurge but it has been amazing and I haven't found better. I will use this forever. $195/$165-refill)

Wedding Day Makeup:

First Layer of Foundation: Diorskin Nude #40
---This is my favorite foundation on the market. It's a mineral liquid that is light, gives good coverage, and the more you wear it--the more even your skintone will be. It's water based and very good for your skin. I despise makeup primers and if I choose to layer for an occasion--I put this one on first.

Foundation: Dior Airflash 400
---There's multiple ways to apply--but the best by far is to spray a little on a flat head brush and put on in circlular motions airbrushing it into the skin. It gives the most flawless finish I've ever seen. I sell a TON of this stuff--people love it. I'm fairly sensitive to something in it--which is why I layer--it's not directly touching my skin--and I ALWAYS wash it off really well.

Powder: Diorskin Forever Powder #40
---This I use for setting the foundation. I'm very oily so I have to make sure it all stays. I put it on with a Bare Minerals Foundation Brush... I just like how it goes on with it. I carried this for touch ups.

Blush: Dior Rose Brazalia and Bare Minerals Rose Radience
---I did a contour with the Rose Brazalia where you would do a fish face. It's a blush with a touch of bronzer in it so it looks natural. I put the Rose Radience on the natural cheekbone because it has a sheen for a nice glow.

Eyeliner: Dior Trinidad Black Waterproof Eyeliner
---I swear by Dior Waterproof Eyeliners. They are expensive--but they do not move. They have the kind that you sharpen, or automatic. I'm old school and use the sharpen one--it's called Trinidad Black. If you french rim or tight-line, it is able to go in the inside and will stay all day!! My best tip for eyeliner that won't run---put a little eyeshadow over/underneath it!! It will not only look amazing, but the powder will set it and keep it from moving!

Eyebrows: Dior Universal Brow Styler
---BEST BROW PENCIL EVER. You must try for yourself. It's small and mimics drawing little hairs, unlike a pencil. My brows were accidentally waxed off when I was 18 by a friend in school, lol--they are very sparse and I rely on this pencil everyday!!

Eyeshadow: Dior Smoky Design 5-Color Designer Palette
---I've dreamed of using this palette for my wedding since it came out. I use it a lot for events and such. My account executive bought me a brand new one for my engagement so I could have a new one on my day instead of my beat up tester :) It includes a sparkle top coat and a gel potted eyeliner. I use a small rounded brush in the eyeliner and really smoke up the outer corners of my eyes. I didn't use much of the sparkle because I didn't want my eyes to look like a mirror in pictures. Even though it's fabulous in person--photos hate the sheen.

Lipliner: Dior Heather Rose
---Waterproof, doesn't move, my everyday, tried and true love. It has a little pearl to it and fills in lines you have on your lips!

Lipstick: Clinique Butter Shine Raspberry Rush
---I wish I would have went darker, but I packed it before I got so tan. I hate the feel of lipstick, so I like the ones that have a little gloss built in. The lipliner holds it and it felt great!

Makeup Setting Spray: Urban Decay De-Slick
---I think this worked okay... I can't really tell. Previous times I've used it it's been good. We were out in the sun, wind and heat, lol---we'll see when Jason's pictures come back, lol. It does make me itchy... but sometimes you have to suffer to be fabulous, lol.

Eye Shadow Base: Clinique Touch Base in Nude Rose
---I've tried them all--this is my favorite. It dries out quick, but it's only $15 so I don't mind... it works!!

Eyelashes: Ardell... I don't remember the style. They were longer on the ends.
---I've had luck with their lashes. I normally do the individuals, but was too nervous. I also had a separate Ardell Glue.

Mascara: Maybelline Full and Soft & Clinique High Lengths
---Lol--I tried almost 30 mascaras leading up to the day. I took 8 different kinds with me. I used the Maybelline Full and Soft to blend my lashes with the fakes... felt like it needed a little more umph and added a bit of Clinique High Lengths. The brush on the Clinique one is super funky--but it was just what I needed to make the blending perfect.

Concealer: Dior Skinflash #003
---This magical little pen saves me alll the time. It has a touch of skincare in it and really depuffs and tightens. I like to use it under my eyes, around my lips to keep my lipliner/lipstick on, and on the sides of my nose where I get redness. It's not heavy and does more light reflecting than covering. Sometimes a heavy concealer looks worse than not covering your issue at all. That's why I LOVE this little guy! This is one of my top selling items too!!

And just for fun:

Body Care: Clarins Toning Oil
Hair Product: Big Sexy Hair - Root Pump Plus (only thing that fights humidity for me!)
Hair Color: Natural Instincts Creme - Dark Auburn
Hair Treatment: Fekkai Color Mask -- LOVE THIS STUFF!!
Nail Color: OPI for Sephora -- the name had "flower" in it... but it's too runny and sheer... I won't buy it again. My friends complained about theirs too.

And if I haven't stressed it enough to future brides....
You NEED the Clarisonic!!!

I also took about 40-50 brushes with me. I'm crazy about my brushes. Invest in good ones. Dior, Chanel, Lancome, MAC, Sephora, Bare Minerals, etc..... actually I take that back about Chanel--they shed on me really bad and are kind of rough. Brushes really do a lot for your makeup--if you put it on with a crappy brush... it'll look crappy.

Here are my faves:

Philosophy: Airbrush Foundation Brush
Dior: Cheek, Powder Foundation Flathead, Medium&Large Eyeshadow, Eyeliner
Sephora: Most Eyeshadow Brushes, Airbrush Concealer
Bare Minerals: Flawless Application Face Brush, Heavenly Face Brush

Okay... well that's what I remember, lol. So hopefully this helps someone, or feeds to a cosmetic addiction, lol. Some days I think it's funny that I really believe in this stuff--but I do--I love it!!

Wedding Day Part 2

So we get into the main building, up the escalators to the Tower Club. I get off the elevator and Jason runs around the corner to get in position for our "first look". All the CMs were all gushy and it was fun :cutie: DH and I exchanged a few words, then it was photo madness. We went on the balcony for a bunch of shots. Then when we came in, a CM stopped me and said they wanted us to come up after because they had something special for us! They asked if I wanted a cocktail or drink, etc--and I guess they asked him before too and he just had a beer. They also asked how we were getting over to the Poly. I said we would probably take the monorail, but she insisted on getting a driver to take us over  She made a few calls and said when we were ready to tell them downstairs and the cadillac would take us over  How freaking amazing?? So we took pix by the window, the monorail, outside by the metal Mickey thingy, down in the lobby by the lights, and in the Wave entrance. Lots of congrats and thank yous were exchanged :) As I walked toward the lobby, the driver saw us first and took us to the car. He took us right to the Poly entrance which was sooo much faster and easier!! We thanked him and went inside to meet Kathleen. She was really nice and we exchanged a few words... then she drops it on me... there's a little change in plans, Rev Jack is sick and sent Rev Tim... lets go meet him.

So we go over to Rev Tim, we introduce ourselves, hand over the cash, he gives DH advice that I will always be right, always let me be right, and whatever I say goes  :lmao: I like him. He confirmed that we just wanted a short ceremony and that he had a few in his book. :scared1: Ummm so about the one I wrote.........?????? Have no fear, mega organizer is here.... I had a copy in another envelope  He wanted to take a few pictures of us which was nice--those were the ones I posted before. I got my flowers, fell instantly in love--and was over the moon happy with them! So we started our trek out to Luau Beach. I was more than thankful that I had wedge flip flops on. I would have never survived in heels.

We get to the spot, and it was so awkward. It was like, okay, we're here, let's do this! Kathleen got the violinist and he started to dabble. I got myself down into the sand without falling--DH and I walked to Rev Tim together--which I loved--especially because I almost fell twice  My ankle did that walk-in-the-sand roll thing, lol. I'm such a mess, lol. I envisioned the ceremony being read with the soft sound of a violin in the background... I dunno why I thought that, lol. I was barely just getting ready to face DH and hold his hands when I saw Kathleen and the violinist a couple feet away just carrying on a conversation. I watched them the whole time. Rev Tim wasn't familiar with our ceremony so he stumbled a bit, but I know it's tough when you haven't gone over something beforehand. He asked if he could add a reading and we said of course. I can't tell you what it was about because I was watching the chitty chatters. We were married within about 4 minutes which caught them off guard. The violinist goes for his violin, and starts to play When you Wish Upon a Star... which wasn't on our list. We were done, it was over--too late now. We tie up loose ends with Rev Tim and Kathleen and Mr. Violin man is waiting on his tip that he's not getting. It was a weird silence that I was trying to fill with meaningless chatter. Finally he and Kathleen left, and Kathleen knew we were headed to GF to finish pictures. We said goodbye to Rev Tim and took a few more pictures on the beach. It was getting hot. We ended up walking over to the GF... I wanted to be around that fountain... lots of pics around the fountain!! So we did that, he took some pictures of our rings, then we went inside. I made sure to continue warning that we had to be very mindful of the other bride in there and to stay on the opposite floor, and if she wanted up there, then we had to move--I felt like a director--but I wanted to keep the peace and not cause any trouble for the Wishes Bride! We went upstairs because I really just wanted the picture with the chandelier and that was it for the inside. We were getting into place, taking a few... and we were interrupted by a GF CM. She asked if we were with DFTW--I said yes. She asked who our planner was--I say Kathleen Reynolds. (like she didn't believe me) She asks where she was--I said that she left us and knew we were coming here. She tells us there's already a bride inside and we need to make sure to keep a distance. I told her we were almost done and leaving, and that I knew the drill. She was very stern and made me feel like a criminal for taking pictures in there. I was no longer in a mood to be there, and I wanted to go back to my room--she really pissed me off. This unfortunately is still leaving a bad taste in my mouth about the GF. So we finished up a few shots and hopped the monorail back to the Contemporary.

I haven't mentioned that I'm starving--but I am, and it's bad and I'm cranky. It's now 2:15pm and I'm going to eat my arm off. We said goodbye to Jason, and hopped the elevator back to the Tower Club. They said to come back and I wanted to thank them for the car, etc... plus get a little munch. They had a bottle of Champagne and glasses for us which was sooooo nice!! They asked if we wanted it now or later brought to the room. We said later to the room---look at this service!! They were so nice and loving to us--it really left an impression on me!! We snacked on gummies and crackers, etc to take the edge off... if I didn't have something I would have fallen over.

We made it back to the room. My eyelashes were bothering me, the amount of makeup in the heat was bothering me... and I desperately wanted to wash my face. We got to the room and there was a white chocolate Mickey and chocolate covered strawberries!! OMG they were so good--how nice!! They were amazing Pixie Dust--no clue where they came from!! So I threw off the dress, washed my face, and we were left with a Phineas and Ferb question... What do you want to do?? It was almost 3, and dinner was at 5:45 at the Cali Grill. I said I wanted to go see Lilly the Gorilla so we put on our homemade TShirts and hopped the bus to AK! I forgot my phone--remember this. We normally play on our phones on the bus, but we had to resort to conversation since I forgot mine. DH asks me... were we supposed to tip the violinist?? He was standing there like he expected it. I told him yes, yes we were, but he was standing talking through our ceremony and not playing so I didn't give it to him. DH then asks if that's what I was looking at during the whole ceremony  Yes, yes it was. He again said he felt weird because he was standing there waiting for it. So for a guy to notice this---it was really noticable. I thought it was funny because I was just brushing it off and not bringing it up--and he was the one who brought it up!!

We walked right on to Expedition Everest, and almost directly on the Safari. When we were done, we went to the Trek to see Lilly. She wasn't out at first, but then she came out!! I stood there for about 20 minutes or so taking pictures of her and just watching. I feel like I'm watching her grow up and I love it!! She's my favorite!! So after I feel like I've been there for an excessive amount of time... I turn around... no DH. Sudden panic. So I went backwards a bit to see if he was making a call... no. Went back to the gorillas... no. Went forward and walked through... no. I thought maybe he went to the restroom so I sat on the bench right outside the trek. I have no phone. I wait, I wait, I wait. I start to cry. He left me. He married me and left me at the gorillas :sad1: I mean I am thinking the worst--like a crazy person--and I have no phone. So I'm crying on this bench, watching the Jingle Jungle Parade. About 10 minutes later (40 lost in total) he comes out and is like... there you are! :headache: Somehow he lost me, went back thru the whole thing, probably about the time I left, then just stayed by the gorillas because he figured I'd come back there, lol. Whoops. So then we went over to see the tigers.... then we were done. We had enough time to get back to the room, change and get to the Cali Grill.

We had a really amazing meal. Everything was delish. No extras or pixie dust... just confetti on the table, but it was great. Much better than last time!! We debated on what to do after, but we were both tired. We both wanted to see the MVMCP fireworks, so I set my alarm and we took a nap until then! We woke up when they delivered our champagne, then fell back asleep. It was a bottle of Prosecco--not a fave of mine, but DH thought it was okay. It gives me that puckered up bitter face, lol. We went up for fireworks, he had a few beers, and I had some tea. They were great... I loved them from this angle because they're so wide spread and you don't see that in the parks!! I was falling asleep again by the time they were over and passed out when my head hit the pillow. We had an 8:15 ressie at Hollywood and Vine the next morning and had to be up early!!

Although we had hiccups... we got married and had a fabulous day. Really who made the day was the Tower Club staff. They went above and beyond for us and although I was really mad at the CR the first day... I think that this is our new love. I will have more pics of this part coming up soon!!

I also want to add that married life has brought the best out in both of us. It's really been great and things are going very well at home. And from the minute we said "I do" he's been telling me about how he wants a little padawan to go thru jedi training camp or a princess to dress up at BBB. He's out of control--I thought we were waiting :confused3 Lol--he is seriously obsessed with the idea. It's cute. I better get a final adults only trip or two in, lol  I didn't fill my Rx and plan to stay off of it... so we'll see. I'm still concerned this will make MIL come around more... but she hasn't contacted me, since before the wedding, and has only said happy thanksgiving to him. Not even a congrats! I like it this way... but I know it's the calm before the storm :lmao:

Okay... well that's all for today!! :wizard:

Deena - Your wedding day sounded positively wonderful, hiccups and all. All the little unexpected touches, the Cadillac ride over to the Poly, the champagne in the lounge, the white chocolate Mickey and chocolate strawberries in your room :goodvibes

Wow! That is a lot of pixie dust! :wizard: I'm glad the Contemporary was so magical for you. I can't wait to stay there one day!

The rest of wedding day sounded great too, well, except for the part where Dave married you and left you for the gorillas. (I know it wasn't funny at the time, but when I was reading that line I completely lost it! )

It sounds like you had a great wedding! Congrats again! And yay for the tower club staff, they sound amazing. Score on the free transportation and champagne and strawberries! I can't believe that a CM asked you to stay out of the way @ the GF, that is really uncool. You paid to be a DFTW bride and you deserved the rights that go along with it. It makes me nervous because I'm a measly swan and they'll probably have security remove me if I try to have pictures done there :(

I'm glad to hear that you're enjoying married life. Yay for a little princess or jedi! Do it, come to the dark side. Kids are a trip! You can't even imagine what it is like to take your child(ren) to the Magic Kingdom. I mean, I love going to Disney but seeing my kids eyes light up when they walk into the Magic Kingdom is a special kind of feeling that I can't even explain.

Overall it sounds like your wedding day was really wonderful!! The CMs all sound awesome and really helped to make your day special. Except that one at the GF, I can't believe she did that to you! I mean, it's one thing to politely let you know that there's another bride around, but to act accusatory and rude is unacceptable! I would have been upset and bothered about it too. Every wedding day has a few flaws but it sounds like yours were fairly minimal so that's good.

:wizard:

Sweet Deena - Your day sounded wonderful, except for that one CM!! I am so sorry this happened to you!! I must admit, that you are the first bride I have heard of who has been treated in this way and let us hope you are the last!!! I think (hope) you were just extremely unlucky. For this to happen to such a sweet and beautiful bride, is really sad!!!

My sweet girls - Let us hope that this particularly nasty CM was just having a bad day and our gorgeous Deena got the worst of it!!!

Jilian sweetie - You are not a 'measly swan'!!!! You will be a proud and beautiful bride who has had her VR in WDW!!! Our gorgeous S/D brides are not second class citizens!!! Poor Deena is the only bride who I have heard of being treated in this shabby way. Randy is expert at dodging the DPS photographers and DFTW brides and I am absolutely certain that you will have no problems!!

You really do look gorgeous in your pics. I don't wear make up (can't be bothered, bit too tomboy like forit) but even I know that yours looked fantastic! Your second job should look at those pics and remember how good you are and that they are lucky you still work there!!;)

Your day sounded great and yay for the pixie dust throwing staff - that's what Disney is about, little touches that mean such a lot.

The CL CMs sound amazing - what awesome pixie dust you got! Wow, how unprofessional that your planner was talking during your ceremony - very disappointing to hear that:sad2:.
