yay for online shopping! I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sure work will stay quiet today...DF went in this morning and he said its like the zombie apocalypse hit, lol. He works for
Walmart HQ and they actually have instructions not to contact any of the stores during this time, so its super quiet in his department. I pity the fools in the IT dept though!
They let us go at 3:30 instead of 5---it was quiet, but basically, they brought in breakfast, we ate. They brought in lunch, we ate, we left
Deena,
Sorry your plan didn't work yesterday, but you obviously needed the sleep.
Great start to the big day recap. I am glad that for the most part it wasn't stressful. You deserved some peace at the home stretch!
I love the comment about the Clarisonic. I bought the Mia a few weeks ago and I love it!!! What a great buy. I have even gotten Paul to use it and he really loves it too.
DH has the regular one which we used to share, then I got a Mia for me (and travel). We can't live without them!! He loves his, lol. I recommend one for all of those who want great skin for pictures!!
Sounds like a good start to your morning! I'm glad everyone was super nice
And I know what you mean about waking up! I woke up a few hours before I had planned as well, and even though I'd only gotten about 4 hours of sleep I still couldn't fall asleep that night for the life of me!
Crazy how that works!! Sounds like most brides do the same!!
I'm sorry to hear that you are still having drama If it doesn't turn up, get a refund from the officiant, head down to the local courthouse, and quietly make it official. No one will know that the Disney ceremony wasn't technically legal (you did everything right to make it legal!)
Yeah--I know... I'm just a ball of emotion like always, lol. I thought stresses were gone since this was over!!!
I totally agree! If for some reason it was not filed, do exactly that. We got married on the Disney Dream and our official legal wedding date is not the same as our out of this world, day of my dreams, wedding! That can still be the day you celebrate and remember!!
Yep!! Great point!!
Oh Deena
Thanks
If it wasn't filed it will be ok, you can get another marriage liscense and send it off to Rev Tim and I'm sure he will fill it out and send it along. Don't stress, it is entirely fixable. Going to the courthouse is an option too, and then you won't have to send it along to Rev Tim.
I hope it just works it's way out. It's just one of those things where all you can think is.... why me??
Deena,
First off....

I am so sorry this is happening, but you can get it straightened out.
Second....Remain calm.
Third. You have already emailed Rev. Tim to inquire about this. I assume he probably has weddings this weekend and may not be able to get back to you quickly. However, if he doesn't get back to you by Monday. CALL HIM UNTIL YOU SPEAK WITH HIM!!! You don't want/need to play phone tag with him.
Since I have read on other TRs that he has subbed for Rev. Jack alot lately, maybe he has been overloaded and is planning on taking a whole boatload of them to the courthouse to register at the same time. You can even ask him if that is the case. I would then point out that your license expires on Thursday and you are getting a little nervous about it. Then see what he says. Hopefully, he says that he has already been there and dropped it off and you are all set or that he is going before the due date. Then you should be fine. If he says that he mailed it, ask him if he has a tracking number, so that you can look into it.
However, if he completely drops the ball on this then I would be screaming so loud they would here you in Orlando from KY. It is part of his job to turn the paperwork in and make it official. IF HE DOES NOT DO THAT, HE HAS FAILED! You deserve a full refund in that case. Also, if he doesn't do this for you, YOU HAVE TO TELL DISNEY! I know you didn't want to open another can of worms with them regarding the violinist, but in this case you will have to! They recommend him and he even won their Golden Pumpkin award last year for excellence. If he doesn't complete the job, DFTW has to know.
I agree with Wendy that if for some reason this doesn't turn out, then you and Dave go to the courthouse and quietly get married. Wear that really pretty dress you didn't take with you and do it. Hopefully, it won't come to this, but it's never a bad idea to have a backup plan.
Keep us posted. (I know you will). We are here for you whenever you need us.
Thank you for all your advice

You make a lot of sense, lol. Depending on the outcome, I feel this is something DFTW may hear about--but I'm going to be patient for a few days more. I just want to be married, have his last name and enjoy the holidays, lol!!
First off, I want to say congrats on your wedding

and I've enjoyed reading about another Memories couple!! I've been following along but have a really bad habit of reading while not logged so I probably haven't commented before.
About the marriage license, holy canoli, I'd be feeling the same way you are

- that stuff totally stresses me out. I have to agree that you should keep dogging the Rev. until you talk to him in person. And if you're having a hard time getting him to call back I'd probably drop into one of your messages that you're going to follow-up with DFTW since you can't get in touch with him. I will tell you back ages ago when we were having our at-home wedding we had trouble with one of our vendors (who was referred by our reception site). When he finally got with the program he told us something to the effect of you, "you're just one couple but I don't want to ruin my relationship with the {name of reception venue}." At the time it infuriated me but I guess he basically meant he wanted us to be happy so we wouldn't complain to the wedding coordinator. Good luck!!!
Thank you!! I stress so easily so this had me all worked up!!
Oh, Deena!

You need to stay CALM. Breathe, girlfriend!
I'm looking at the fine print on the marriage license and it says, "This license must be used on or before the expiration date in the state of Florida in order to be recorded and valid."
So, I think you might actually be safe. It doesn't sound like there is an actual expiration date for the filing process. I think once the ceremony has been preformed you are good. I'm sure there are also people who get married on the physical marriage license expiration date and they have to have some sort of a leeway for them to get it filed.
But do make sure you keep following up with Rev. Tim--I want you to get it back so you can change your name!
Also, very awesome start to the TR. I can't wait to read more!
Thanks for checking the fine print for me

I'm trying to breathe and stay calm. More on this below!!
First, the good: great start to your TR, sweetie. And I wanted to say that your makeup looked AMAZING!!!! You are seriously so talented.
And--- UGH! I really hope everything gets sorted with your marriage license. Because, seriously, what's up with that? And maybe Brevard County has a delay with the holiday? Who knows. Keep us posted.
Thank you!!! You made me blush!! I don't think there's a delay

Everyone else who got married Nov 10-13 is on there

I thought that too til I saw the others.
Ugh, I would be totally stressed too! I agree that you Monday you should call him, this is something that you really need an answer to!! Hopefully it's just something simple and it will be under control in no time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that that's the case!
Thanks girl!! I'm making my rounds of calls today!!
Hey girl! Congratulations! I so wish we could have met up in WDW, everything went CRAZY after I spoke to you on Thursday!!

I am so happy for you and Dave, and I hope everything was just as wonderful as you had hoped! I am so sorry to hear about your license not being filed yet, thats scary and I think you're justified in freaking out. I like Wendy's idea of quietly going to the JoP near you and doing it legally...although it does suck. Anyways, I hope it works out and I cant wait to read more!
I know it all went nuts!! I really wanted to meet up with you, and a few others--but it just seemed to all go by so quickly when we got there!! I know it was probably the same for you--if not more insane!! I'm happy for you--you looked beautiful!!
Congratulations on being married!! Really glad most of the day was as you wanted and can't wait to hear the rest.
We had a 'official part' mix up on our wedding day. We had switched priest's partway through the planning and each assumed that the other had spoken to us about the legal stuff we needed to do. As we had never been married before we thought we had done everything but hubby found out when he arrived and me when we went in to sign the marriage register thing on the day (during the ceremony!) that we couldn't do this part. Didn't let it bother us and as far as we are concerned we got married in sept. the fact that it wasn't legal til December doesn't matter to us.
Hope it gets sorted and try not to worry too much.
You both looked perfect by the way.
Thanks so much!! Sorry to hear about your mixup--but glad it all worked out!! Everything will be fine I'm sure

Okay... so since my Friday night freak out:
Saturday Morning: Rev Tim emailed me saying he'd call on Monday, and he'd send the pix later in the day.
Saturday Afternoon: Read Danielle's update about the marriage license expiration and I calmed down, lol.
Sunday Morning: Got Rev Tim's pix... love them! He will call today.
Sunday Night: Played Tower of Terror Clue with DH and got beat

We also bought a Xmas tree and put it up!!! I also found my Tinkerbell tree topper in the garage!! Not sure what the dog thinks of it--guess I'll see when I get home
Monday Morning: Got in a car accident. Rear ended from behind by a Silverado--luckily my Equinox is a sturdy little guy, and luckily I know better than to ride other bumpers so I didn't go into the person in front of me. My car isn't terrible, but is definately busted in a few spots. The whiplash is already starting to ache and I have a Dr's appt later this afternoon---I know tomorrow I will be yelping so I best get the meds today.
Monday Mid-Morning: I decided to take the bull by the horns and call the Brevard Clerks office. I saw online that it must be filed within 10 days of the marriage date

. I wait on hold for 20 minutes and my blood pressure was sky rocketing--I was married 18 days ago. A nice lady comes on the phone, looks up our names--they have not recieved it at all. The last response on my file is them sending me the notarized application back. She said not to be too worried about the 10 day thing... that I SHOULD be fine. Should being the key word. She ended the call by saying Good Luck
I then followed up with another email to Rev Tim.
I'm sooooooo achy and just want to go home. I'm out of PTO time and prefer not to go unpaid too much... but anticipate tomorrow to hurt pretty bad. I am going to take a few nights off my other job because I just can't stand that long. I'm trying to stay positive, but all I want is a painkiller, a muscle relaxer, a blanket, my doggy and a nap. The TR will continue--I promise!!
