LuvLuvLuv's Memories TR Starts Pg 73 - Honeymoon Day 6.1

So here's what's going on... and here's my plan:

My little sore throat that I came back with turned into a sickness from hell. It got wayyy worse this weekend and I barely had the strength to mess with the laptop. I did get some pictures up on FB, but I'm having trouble with my photobucket. I opened up a Flickr account and downloaded stuff to it--but I'm still trying to figure it out. Not that I'm dumb--but between the congestion and the massive amounts of cold meds--I've been pretty loopy and impatient. Today is the first day I don't feel like I'm going to fall over--but I still don't feel that super.

I'm cooking Thanksgiving for me and DH. I bought EVERYTHING, and plan on getting up early on Thursday to start! Hopefully while my bird is cooking, and DH is sleeping (he works the night before) that I can do a massive update! Also while my bird is cooking I'd like to unpack and do laundry!

I keep wondering if I am going to fall into that post-wedding depression. Luckily, I have felt much much better lately and don't really see that happening! A lot of you have felt that I should write DFTW about a few things, but honestly--I have been so much less stressed since the wedding was over--I really don't want to open it back up. Does that make sense? I dealt with DFTW upper management with my Wishes crisis and it was a complete nightmare--I really don't think it's worth it. Upper management made me feel worse about myself than anyone I had ever dealt with there--I really doubt they would care. Plus, ultimately, it's over, I have a husband and despite minor details--we had a great overall time that no one can take away from us. Crazy enough--I would still recommend a DFTW simply because of the magic of getting married there. That's something that no vendor can take away from us. Moving on :wizard:

I have made my first anniversary trip resort change. I booked Sugarloaf because CR CL wasn't available... but I kept watching and it opened up! So now we're at CR Atrium Club with a Castle View :dance3:

So I may start to write about the Wedding Day this afternoon or tomorrow while I'm at work--depending how busy I am and how I feel. I was so sick I couldn't even write a clear though the past few days! Sorry to keep you waiting!!

PS: I wish my marriage license would get here already!! I want to get this name change stuff in progress!

Deena, I'm sorry you've been so sick! That really sucks. Feel better soon!!

I totally get what you're saying about not bothering anymore with DFTW. Sometimes it's just better to leave it alone and move on! :thumbsup2

You are going to love your CR Atrium MK room ... we spent Christmas in one 3 years ago and it was AMAZING!! There's nothing like sitting on your balcony in the evening watching the castle change colors. :goodvibes

Uggh, what is it we all caught?
Me, Chris and about 5 of our guests all came back from Disney with this same nose, throat, head congestion & cough doodad. I'm FINALLY getting over mine...it's taken about a week. :sad2:

I hope you have a blast cooking your bird! I'm attempting to make some pies!

So glad you got CR CL with a castle view! That'll be awesome for your anniversary.

I just got my marriage license back in the mail yesterday, so yours should be close behind! (As much as I want to change my name...I don't actually wanna have to go out and do it... :rotfl: )

Sorry you haven't been feeling well, Deena. I totally understand. Went to WDW feeling like a cold was coming on, seemed to go away while we were away. Then it came back as soon as we did and now it is acute bronchitis. Ick! :headache: Hope you feel better soon.

The TR can wait, I guess. :rolleyes1

I hope you feel better soon! I also totally understand about not wanting to go back and complain - that might be more stress than it's worth. I definitely wouldn't make a huge deal out of it, but maybe just write a letter or something? The worst that can happen is you'll never hear back, but maybe they will do something for you. You never know!

Since we've been back, I've been craving the Friday night steak skewer appetizers from the lounge, lol. The garden wing wasn't terrible--but I know being on the CL floor with the view will be 100% amazing!! I know you understand my view on DFTW management... I feel like my reviews are closure enough :cutie:

I think whatever the plague was, was rediculous. I'm assuming it was the wacky weather. Sunday night it was so bad that I sat on the couch and cried because I didn't know how else to deal with the fact that I went through about 6000 tissues. Lol--I was a mess. He did have a sinus infection the last 2 days we were there and a few days when we were back---but mine kept lingering and getting worse. Grrr! MMMM yummy pies!! I'm picking up a Pumpkin Pie from Big Boy since I don't feel like dealing with it and they're reallly good! Hopefully mine comes today!! As painful as name changing will be---I need to get it done before I book travel for Disneyland, etc. I've got a semi-plan of attack on a spreadsheet, lol.

Ugh, you got it too!! Feel better!!

I got my marriage license in the mail yesterday morning so I went to the Social Security office. Ugh! Let me tell you, if I didn't love my DH so much, I would have left. Just go in knowing that it may take you a while. I waited 2 hours:mad: and the actual name change only took about 3 minutes. People were fighting over parking spaces in the parking lot. I drove around for about 10 minutes with no spots opening up so I just went down the street and parked at a CVS drugstore. Thank goodness, that is done! Now today I will face the DMV to get my license changed over! Of course they are closed on Thursday, but it was posted that they are also closed on Friday, just so you know. Good Luck!

Yeah, doing the whole name change thing was not fun!! I also waited over an hour as the SS office for a 5 minute procedure. Most of my things I had to change were doubly hard because I was switching states/address as well, so there was a lot of paperwork for the DMV. I was also at the bank for an hour to get my name changed on my account but I think that's just because the woman I was working with was a little spacey. But at least I've pretty much got it all done! There are still some less urgent things (like my passport, that I'm not planning on using within the next year) that I haven't done yet.

PS: I wish my marriage license would get here already!! I want to get this name change stuff in progress!

I researched everything you need to change everything, so I too will be waiting for that darn Wedding Certificate to come in! It gives me time to still procrastinate! :rotfl:

I think I have a little bit of post-wedding depression... but I think it is because I am now on the job hunt again and I am by myself all day until Thomas gets home. I managed to unpack everything, do laundry, and clean up the house though, so at least its something! Once I get another job hopefully it will get better and with the holidays coming up- hopefully it will get busier and take my mind off things!!

Good luck with cooking Thanksgiving dinner!! We are eating with Thomas' mom and grandma this year, and eating Christmas dinner with my parents, so we are already trying to divide our time and holidays evenly without upsetting anyone!

Uggh, what is it we all caught?

We took pro-biotic gummies and vitamins the whole time so I think we might have dodged what everyone else got! Surprising though because we ran ourselves into the ground! Glad to see you are feeling better! Both of you! :)

I just wish everyone would get an alert that we got married and just change everything for you, or at least an online form.... get with the times people!! :headache:

FYI just throwing this in there. Even though our wedding was 2 months ago.... :rolleyes1 I still don't have my name changed on everything. I've actually only been to the DMV. I was going to go to the SS office... but their office hours here are 8:30am-3pm. Wish I worked those kind of hours.

Anyway.. my DH called the SS office.. there's a website where you can find the form to print off. That way you can have it filled out when you arrive. Maybe your 5 min exchange could be knocked down to 3 mins?? :confused3

They also have a mail-in option. The only catch is you have to mail all of the identification papers with the form. They will mail everything back to you afterwards. According to what they said, it takes the same amount of time as getting the real SS card in the mail.

Just wanted to let you ladies know. If I do it that way, I'll let you all know how that goes!! lol

Grrrr where is mine?? I've never seen mine be super super busy, but I'm prepared. I'd like to take a half day to do all the important ones in one shot, lol.

Ugh, states, address and name---they probably red flagged you as a criminal :rotfl2: Not funny, but seriously, lol. I need to get most of it done before my Disneyland trip!!

Thanks!! I'll have to take the half day--it's right across the street and I'm kind of scared to mail all that stuff at the risk of getting lost. Ours is open 9-3:30 and the DMV down the street closes at 4 and is never crazy except at the end of the month. AHhh I just want to do this already, lol!!

___________________

Okay... So my plan for yesterday failed. I had a migrane and slept until 10am--DH decided to get up with me :confused3 He's never been up before 2pm on a day after he works the bar. I planned on a quiet morning full of laundry and TR'ing.........nope! We had a nice, relaxing day, lots of food, lots of clean up, lots of online shopping  I wasn't fighting the crowds and the couple places I wanted stuff from had free shipping. We didn't get anything too exciting--more like stuff we desperately needed  Socks and undies for him, bras (for me not him :rotfl2:), a new windbreaker and belt for him, a couple sweaters for work for me, work dress pants for me, work shoes for me (since mine have holes in the inside ), and a waffle maker so I can recreate the waffle from Food and Wine from my cookbook!!!

Today I am stuck at the office. There are 13 of us here. It's crazy quiet and a great time to tell my story!! Hopefully I can type out the wedding day, and beg for your patience on the pictures!! :wizard:

yay for online shopping! I'm glad you are feeling better. I'm sure work will stay quiet today...DF went in this morning and he said its like the zombie apocalypse hit, lol. He works for Walmart HQ and they actually have instructions not to contact any of the stores during this time, so its super quiet in his department. I pity the fools in the IT dept though!

Part 1.

The alarm was set for 7:00am. Carolyn Allen's was coming at 7:30, so I at least wanted a minute to make a cup of tea, brush my teeth and hair, and put on some clothes.

5:00am, I wake up  Not just like, ooooh I heard a sound...... like WIDE AWAKE

I debated on what to do. It was so early. I tried to wake him up to see what I should do, lol--but that was dumb--he was passed out. I decided to organize. I got my makeup stuff together, set everything out, got my envelopes set, packed my purse. Boredom. I decided to get a shower. I took the longest shower in history, going over all the things that I couldn't forget. I plucked my eyebrows, dried my hair, did my skin care, had a cup of tea. It was like 6:45. So I wake him up--tell him I'm going to the lounge to eat because I'm starving and to let Carolyn Allen's in at 7:30 if I'm not back. Copy.

It was nice to take a little walk by myself that morning. The walk from the garden wing to the main building wasn't bad--just enough for the cold air to hit you and wake you up. I got up to the lounge and was greeted by a couple CMs that were happy to see me and wanted to hear all about what our day held. I was starving. I had a little bit of everything, but I ate realllllly slow. DH texted me when CA's got there, but I was just hanging out in the lounge. I was trying to just relax. I knew that when I went back into that room it was going to be madness for the rest of the day and I was trying to savor the last few minutes of quiet. The CM's gave me a tray to take back drinks, fruit and pastries to the room--super nice!!

I get back to the room and I meet the husband and wife who were there to steam from Carolyn Allen's. They were working on his suit and just getting my dress out. DH said he didn't want to see it (:confused3) so they kept it on the other side--luckily we had the deluxe room. Meanwhile, I reminded DH that he's been putting off letting me pluck his eyebrows and it HAD to happen. He acted like I was slicing off his arm. The people from CA were laughing and we were all having a good time. When they were done, I tipped them and they gave me info on preserving and donating. As I saw them out the door, our MouseKeeper, Consuelo, was outside and I asked her if we could just exchange towels, etc since the day would be soooo busy. She brought us tons of toiletries in, towels, took the dirty ones, and some of the garbage and she thanked me (one less big room to clean!).

It was 8:30. I had no plans of even showering until 9:00am--but even that was done. It was early to start makeup--really early. I figured I could do layer 1 of foundation and let it sit for a bit. So I did a layer of Diorskin Nude, and sat back with a cup of tea and watched some TV. About 9, I just decided to jump into my makeup. Hair was coming at 10, and I knew it wouldn't take me an hour, but in case a disaster happens, I needed recovery time. My nerves officially set in. I do makeup for a living, and have done so for a long time. I do weddings, proms, photo shoots, regular people , old, young, and most importantly--my own--everyday! Why was I shaking? Why couldn't I decide which brush to pick up? Finally, I just did it, I shook up that can of Airflash, sprayed it on my flat brush and just put it on. I got on a roll and was done before I knew it. I started to do the individual lashes, but I was shaking so bad that I didn't think I could do them the whole way without causing a mess. Maybe it was caffeine overload? I did have strip lashes with me, but I really didn't want to use them as I like the individuals better. It had to be done. I put the strips on, fixed up the eyeliner, put mascara on....... and Voila! I did it. Sigh of relief. What I did drop the ball on was lipstick. After I tanned, the lipstick that I had packed a long time ago was way too light. I wish I had more color. So makeup was done and set with Urban Decay De-Slick Setting Spray.

I cleaned up a little of the mess I made, and packed what I needed for touchups in my purse. I told DH he needed to get in the shower, so he did. About the time he needed to get out... the hair lady from Niki Bryan showed up  Again--luckily we had the deluxe room and it all worked out that no one saw anything they weren't supposed to see :lmao:

She was really nice. I can't remember her name for the life of me. She asked if I had another company come in for the makeup and I told her that I did it. I was flattered, but kind of re-assured that I wasn't a mess. You know how some people walk out of their house thinking they look like hot stuff--and they are more like a hot mess? I wanted to make sure that wasn't me! We talked about the products I used as she was straightening. She had a kiwi hairspray that smelled amazing!! We were done in no time. We didn't pin down my headband because it stayed really well. The Niki Bryan manager had sent me an invoice a few weeks prior that included tip, so I knew what to expect. They don't have a deposit. I was given the option of cash, charge to room, check, or credit card. Lots of options! My envelopes had cash. She was really sweet and great to work with--more people should use them!!

When she left, DH was griping that I made him shave that day and that he was getting shaving bumps even though he clarisonic'd. That's why I brought hydrocortisone my love! He got ready and went to the lounge to prepare for the "first look". They offered to make him a cocktail or to get him anything he needed!!

It was about 10 minutes till 11. Jason should arrive at 11. Those 10 minutes seemed like 4 hours. I had my dress out for pictures, my understuff was on and ready. At 11, I guess since the other 2 vendors were right on the minute, I expected that knock at the door, lol. Every minute seemed like an eternity, and my anxiety was nuts. Finally at 5 minutes after, I decided I needed to get dressed. It took me 10 minutes of trying to get that little latch on my dress to secure, then a second to zip it up. (thank god after all that food/wine and room service!!) Jason arrives!

I'm dressed and ready, he takes a few shots of the in-room celebration stuff and we're on our way to the lounge!

I'm going to take a little break here :)

I need another cup of tea and want to buy a pin or two for DH for Xmas, but couldn't since he was watching me on my laptop allllllllll day yesterday. I was on the DisneyStore.com and he's over my shoulder. He wants the BuzzLightyear hoodie--but it's $60 and I'm waiting till we get a 40% sale closer later in December!!

Part 2 coming up!!

Deena,

Sorry your plan didn't work yesterday, but you obviously needed the sleep.

Great start to the big day recap. I am glad that for the most part it wasn't stressful. You deserved some peace at the home stretch! :)

I love the comment about the Clarisonic. I bought the Mia a few weeks ago and I love it!!! What a great buy. I have even gotten Paul to use it and he really loves it too.

Sounds like a good start to your morning! I'm glad everyone was super nice :goodvibes

And I know what you mean about waking up! I woke up a few hours before I had planned as well, and even though I'd only gotten about 4 hours of sleep I still couldn't fall asleep that night for the life of me!

I'm interrupting the scheduled Trip Report and multi-quotes for a Major Meltdown Announcement.

So I've been trying this new patience thing. I thought I was doing well. Everyday I get the mail, I pray the marriage license is in there--it's not there and I tell myself in a positive tone..... maybe tomorrow!

Today I really thought it was the day. We were married 15 days ago, other have told me they have theirs, where is mine??

Rev Tim also emailed me last week confirming my email and saying he had pictures to send me---never heard back from him after my immediate reply :confused3 I later found out he sent my photos to someone else, but never contacted me again.

So tonight when I got home from my second job, I decided to look on the Brevard County Clerk of Courts website to see the records. I did look up everyone that I knew their last name (sorry ladies, I'm freaking out) and all of them were there-filed-done-official. We are not even filed or showing up anywhere. Tears.

I emailed Rev. Tim and all I can do is hope for the best.

So my "lost in the mail" theory is wrong--it's not even filed. It expires on THURSDAY. If it isn't found and filed by Thursday, I'm assuming it's Void. I'm officially, legally, not even married right now. If it doesn't turn up, will all of this be a sham?? What will happen?? What if I stuck out my patience thing and just kept waiting?? I just keep thinking the worst.

Sorry--I didn't know where else to turn. DH is upset, but is at work and can't be here to see me freaking out. I wanted to get into the TR more tonight, but I think I need to sleep this off and wait for a reply. I'll keep you updated.

I'm sorry to hear that you are still having drama :( If it doesn't turn up, get a refund from the officiant, head down to the local courthouse, and quietly make it official. No one will know that the Disney ceremony wasn't technically legal (you did everything right to make it legal!)

I totally agree! If for some reason it was not filed, do exactly that. We got married on the Disney Dream and our official legal wedding date is not the same as our out of this world, day of my dreams, wedding! That can still be the day you celebrate and remember!! ;)

If it wasn't filed it will be ok, you can get another marriage liscense and send it off to Rev Tim and I'm sure he will fill it out and send it along. Don't stress, it is entirely fixable. Going to the courthouse is an option too, and then you won't have to send it along to Rev Tim.

Deena,

First off....:hug::hug: I am so sorry this is happening, but you can get it straightened out.

Second....Remain calm.

Third. You have already emailed Rev. Tim to inquire about this. I assume he probably has weddings this weekend and may not be able to get back to you quickly. However, if he doesn't get back to you by Monday. CALL HIM UNTIL YOU SPEAK WITH HIM!!! You don't want/need to play phone tag with him.

Since I have read on other TRs that he has subbed for Rev. Jack alot lately, maybe he has been overloaded and is planning on taking a whole boatload of them to the courthouse to register at the same time. You can even ask him if that is the case. I would then point out that your license expires on Thursday and you are getting a little nervous about it. :scared1: Then see what he says. Hopefully, he says that he has already been there and dropped it off and you are all set or that he is going before the due date. Then you should be fine. If he says that he mailed it, ask him if he has a tracking number, so that you can look into it.

However, if he completely drops the ball on this then I would be screaming so loud they would here you in Orlando from KY. :rolleyes1 It is part of his job to turn the paperwork in and make it official. IF HE DOES NOT DO THAT, HE HAS FAILED! You deserve a full refund in that case. Also, if he doesn't do this for you, YOU HAVE TO TELL DISNEY! I know you didn't want to open another can of worms with them regarding the violinist, but in this case you will have to! They recommend him and he even won their Golden Pumpkin award last year for excellence. If he doesn't complete the job, DFTW has to know.

I agree with Wendy that if for some reason this doesn't turn out, then you and Dave go to the courthouse and quietly get married. Wear that really pretty dress you didn't take with you and do it. Hopefully, it won't come to this, but it's never a bad idea to have a backup plan.

Keep us posted. (I know you will). We are here for you whenever you need us. :grouphug:
