Do they have a rental car or anything? A lot of my guests are driving up from South Florida just for the wedding, so I'm having them all drive to one of the resorts in my block to catch the bus.

You are not ruining their wedding experience. You have told people what they needed to do - it was their choice to wait so long. If I wanted to do my own trip to Disney with no wedding involved, I wouldn't even bet on getting what I wanted by waiting so long to book.

If you told the people what the resort choices were and when to book by, then they should just have to deal with the bus not making a special pick up just for them. Simply make suggestions on how they can get to the FQ - like said, taxi or boat.

It really isnt that bad of a walk- we stayed at riverside and walked to FQ- there is a nice paved path along the river-maybe a 15 minute walk
The water taxi is also an option

If they don't want to pay for a taxi from POR to POFQ they could take the riverboat taxi/shuttle thingy. It goes from DTD to POFQ to POR and back again. It would take a little more time, but they wouldn't be able to complain about paying for a taxi. It is also a really nice ride.

Oooh! Oooh! I love this idea! Now, do you think it will be operating at the crack o' dawn on my wedding day? I think they'll have to meet the bus at POFQ at about 7:30am...

I'm pretty sure that it doesn't operate that early.

Well... even still, I'm of a mind to have them figure it out themselves.... if it could save having the rest of the guests sitting on a bus for an hour....

I agree! You did everything you could to help your guest. And if they didn't listen to you... Well, that's there fault.

Just tell them it's too late to change the bus route for them so they will have to make their own arrangements. If you wanted to be spiteful you could even wait till the last moment to tell them about it too...
Mwahahahaha! I am evil!!!

I FEEL YOUR FRUSTRATION!!!!!!!!!!!!:headache: I AM GOING THROUGH THE SAME THING , I GET MARRIED THE DAY BEFORE YOU, AND BECAUSE OF PEOPLE DRAGGING FEET I HAD TO ADD A 4TH HOTEL, PLUS I HAVE PEOPLE WHO LIVE IN AREA SO THEY AREN'T STAYING THERE. I TOLD ANYONE NOT STAYING ON PROPERTY TO DRIVE TO THE LAST RESORT STOP AND GET A BUS FR THERE. IF ANYONE MISSES THE BUS THEY HAVE TO TAKE A TAXI. I HAVE 1 COUPLE STAYING AT ALLSTARS SO MY PLANNER ACTUALLY HAD AN IDEA TO GET A TOWN CAR ONLY $23 EACH DIRECTION MUCH CHEAPER!!!:woohoo: FOR THEM, SO AS TO SAVE TIME WITH THE BUSES.
AS FOR THE PORT ORLEANS SITUATION :sad2: ITS REALLY NOT A FAR WALK, PLUS THE DISNEY BUSES GO AROUND PARKING LOT SO IF ANY THING HOP ON DISNEY BUS TO THE OTHER HOTEL OR ATLEAST A CLOSER STOP, THEN WALK! THE 2 HOTELS SHARE THE SAME PARKING LOT!
TRUST ME I HAVE BEEN FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS:eek: MY FIANCE HAS TAKEN THE IT'S NO LONGER OUR PROBLEM ATTITUDE (I'M TRYING TO ADOPT IT ALSO) PEOPLE HAVE HAD PLENTY OF TIME THEY CHOOSE TO WAIT THEY MISS OUT AND HAVE TO DEAL!!!
WE CAN'T LET THEM RUIN OUR SPECIAL DAY!!!!!:lovestruc

Whew! So it's not just me! I love the town car idea - our guests can't take a taxi because our wedding's in Epcot. But a towncar might do the trick. We could even just do it one way, since the bus will take people anywhere they want to go on the return trip.

Oh wait - I forgot.

DFTW disparities abound!

No one batted an eyelash when I said I wanted rose petals on my aisle. No one EVER mentioned them blowing away.

And it was DFTW the suggested to ME the idea of town cars! Perhaps it's because I'm an escape bride so they had no way to sucker me into an overrated, overpriced bus?!?

Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! I just found out that the %#$@! corporate event that booked Lower UK during our dessert party cancelled and now we can have that instead of Upper UK. I have been stewing over Upper UK for months. (Not to talk trash about Upper UK - it is very nice and has a great view. I just had my heart set on Lower UK).

Off to change my PJ title... heh heh heh... :upsidedow

good for you carrie! congrats!!!

Yah for you. We also have UK Lower. We watched IllumiNations from there this past November and it is a wonderful location.

Linda

Congratulations!!! :)
what great news!!!

Wow, that's a great bonus!
I think we may go for this location for our dessert party, it seems a popular choice, especially for any guest amount under 100 so you can't get the Itlay Isola ;))

Going back a bit now, but remember when you said you were only just over you minimum spend (I think it was about $600 over the 10k required if I remember right), was this before tax and service charges? Don't they have to be added on after the minimum?

Just trying to suss out what a reasonable budget should be for us.

Thanks in advance! :thumbsup2

We land the day you get married I might have to pop along to epcot to view your dessert party!! We are also having ours at lower uk!
