Should we shoot for last lunch seatings at the following restaurants or should we do dinner? Also, if we do lunch, which ones are good deals for Connections vouchers?

Whispering Canyon (should we do the skillet or a la carte?)

Trail's End Buffeteria (is this any good?)

Le Cellier

We are frugal and don't want to spend needlessly, but if there are special foods or features that we'll miss be eating lunch rather than dinner, then it may be worth the extra dinero.

You can review menu's at
The DIS Dining Info

and at
Deb's Menus from Around the World

There is big difference between items available on the lunch menu and the dinner menu at Le Cellier. The menu's at Deb's site and The DIS site differ slightly. We ate lunch at Le Cellier and enjoyed the NY Strip steak, burger, and the prime rib sandwich. I've seen the cheddar soup recommended on a number of posts on this forum; the menu at Deb's site indicates that the cheddar soup is available at lunch or dinner.

We ate lunch at Trails End in Sept. It was a good value (I think $8.95 for all you can eat buffet). Nothing fancy. I don't know how it's different from dinner. They close down between lunch and dinner, so you need to hit it earlier than some of the Epcot buffets.

MOst of the time the only difference is in portion size, and perhaps they don't include salad (Garden Grille) with dinner.

As for Whispering Canyon, the prices are slightly less at lunch, and it is a bit less rowdy... so if you are really INTO rowdy, you might want to try dinner. Also, it is alot less crowded at lunch.

The Trails End Buffeteria is reasonable no matter what time you decide to eat, but I do believe lunch is a bit less.

As for Le Cellier... you will find more sandwich and burger offerings at lunch, but if you are interested in the more high end steaks, you will need to go for dinner.

Rainforest Cafe is the best deal I have found for the $29.50 lunch vouchers. A lot of the others didn't seem like I would get my money's worth. Like Le Cellier - if I could order from the dinner menu then yes, but when I looked at what they offered for lunch and the prices I didn't think it was worth a $29.50 voucher. But Rainforest's menu is the same for lunch and dinner, so with it you can come out way ahead.
