Lunch in MK

So….. the seniors in my life would find nothing on the menu for them to eat at most of the QS in MK. They would eat the salmon entree at CHH, but that’s about it. They could eat at Skippers and The Plaza. So…think about what they would eat in making your pick.

We just reserved Diamond Horseshoe, DD 13 looked at menu and liked the setting of restaurant (she said it was fancy!) and the dishes and Mac and cheese looked good to her plus ooey gooey toffee cake with ice cream for dessert!

Both Diamond Horseshoe and Liberty Tree Tavern have the exact same menu. LTT is colonial themed. Diamond Horseshow is wild west themed and had a stage show in various incarnation. It became overflow seating for LTT during social distance seating and now still is, with a separate ADR . You should let your daughter see a video of both interiors as to preference. We've thought at LTT the food comes out slightly hotter, but that is not.a scientific observation.

It became overflow seating for LTT during social distance seating and now still is, with a separate ADR . You should let your daughter see a video of both interiors as to preference. We've thought at LTT the food comes out slightly hotter, but that is not.a scientific observation.

We did look at LTT too. We are there when she was like 5. I remember the stage show from when I was a kid!

I heard the reason they took it away was because people were using it as a free salad bar (and I witnessed that on numerous trips) -- they'd order something small so they had a plate/container and then head to the toppings bar to make a salad. This is why we can't have nice things.

The only thing I am guilty of abusing on the toppings bar was the hot nacho cheese pump - I may have used an inordinate amount on some fries! Who needs salad when you have that? (I did always get a burger and stuff too, so I was well-covered).

LTT had characters in colonial garb back in the day. The Stage Show was at Diamond Horseshoe. It was a saloon, without actually being a saloon.

MK is the trickiest day for lunch. We want a break to sit but not go all the way back to the resort and the options just, stink, #firstworldproblems

Skipper Canteen? The food really isn't as fancy as it sounds.

LOL, I'm so glad you said this! On our first visit to WDW, we were living in Massachusetts. The family wanted to eat lunch at LTT, which we did, and I looked around, shook my head and said "I didn't come to Disney just so I could eat at a place that reminds me of being in Colonial Boston!"

I almost said normal food then I changed it to Thanksgiving LOL. Same reason I don’t go to Columbia Harbor house. I just had a lobster roll at the Red Sox on Friday night. There is no way Disney is doing that better. I’m sorry.
