Lunch & FDP Dinner Timing--Is this doable?

We have a 3:30 ADR at Mama Melrose for the Fantasmic Dining Package but DD-4 keeps talking about "the place where you eat in the cars" (aka Sci-Fi Dine-In)...the only time we could get an ADR for an early lunch was 11:20. I am going to check in early on the off chance we can get in closer to 11:00 or at least not too far past 11:20. If we only got burgers (3 to split--1 for dh, and then the other two for me, my mom & the kids) do you think we would be okay for our dinner ADR tummy- and time-wise? Does the Sci-Fi have relatively quick turnaround time for one-course lunches? We only have the one day at MGM and I'd like to be able to hit everyone's wish lists--food and otherwise

We have always gotten in and out of Sci Fi very quickly. I believe the movie clips run around 45 minutes before starting over and it seems we always are almost ready to leave when it gets back to the spot where we came in. I would definitely get there early as it seems we always have to wait a 10-15 minutes even with our ADR. That is a lot of eating but you are on vacation so what the heck! DH and I always split a sandwich and they have always been fine with doing that, they are huge.

we went to scifi at 3:30 in Jan., the place was literally 1/2 empty and it took 2+ hrs for our hamburger( husband) and soup(me),the first 45 mins just to get seated and i repeat the place was literally 1/2 empty. if the above poster is right about the loop length it could have even been longer as we saw it 2+ times while we waited for said burger and soup.( don't remember the exact time we walked out the door, we stopped checking our watches and just resigned ourselves after an hr wait after we ordered since we were getting so irritated.)

We have Sci-Fi and Mama Melrose FDP ADR's planned for our January trip. We are seriously considering just having milkshakes and maybe splitting an appetizer after having an earlier counter service lunch or big breakfast. We would like to experience Sci-Fi but know we wouldn't be hungry for Mama Melrose's at 4:30 if we eat a heavy lunch.

We are planning to do the milkshakes/split appetizer thing too. We have 12.00 ADR at Sci Fi (earliest available) and 4.30 FDP ADR at 4.30 (latest available).
What's the bet everyone will still want a "midnight snack" that night?
