I may be the only person who has missed this, but while I am aware of the dinner seating assignments, how does it work for lunch at the "sit-down" restaurants, such as Triton's?

Do you make reservations, just show up or ?? What about tips for the servers?

We are seriously considering staying onboard most of our Nassau day, and thought if we could arrange for a great lunch onboard, that might be another plus to not staying long at Nassau.

You just show up and are seated at a table. You might be seated with other people, so be aware of that. No tips are necessary, since each server is tipped by their dinner guests at the end of the cruise.

We had a great lunch at Tritons on our day at sea. They asked us if we wanted our own table or to sit with others. I think the food was better at lunch than at dinner. Maybe because they weren't as busy. We look forward to a repeat visit on our next cruise.

We didn't know about the 'seating with others' for our first lunch at Triton's and they put two college girls with us (they were very nice, but DH and I were expecting to enjoy a lunch alone while the kids were in the club). So if you want to sit alone, make sure you ask. The next time we took the kids and asked for a table for 4 and really enjoyed our lunch.

I ate at Lumiere's on the Magic for one lunch and it was superb (best midday meal I had besides the brunch at Palo). DW and DSD were off doing other things that day, so I went in alone. They seated me at a larger table and a family later joined me. We had a very interesting conversation, as well as a great meal.

We had lunch in Triton's on Nassau day on our cruise last month. There were very few people there. It felt like we had the whole restaurant to ourselves. Our servers spent almost the entire time at our table, talking to us and answering our many questions. (We were their only table.) We had a wonderful time and did leave a tip, just because we wanted to and they were so helpful to us, but it is not expected.

In addition to the menu, they had specials, and they were preparing pasta dishes to order.

I'm glad you mentioned the specials, like the pasta. That reminded me that they also generally make a delicious tropical salad that is also not on the menu. It is prepared fresh at your table. It is a yummy sweet salad with things like chicken and pineapple...mmmmm!
