Hi, new to this site and to Disneyworld. I was not aware we could make dining reservations so far in advance, and once I found out, a lot of places are full or have times we don't want. We want to eat at Teppan Edo as there are no restaurants where we live that cook the food at the table like this and we want our kids to experience it, but the only reservation time available is lunch at 3:40. Looking on the website, it says lunch ends at 3:45 and dinner starts at 4:00. Does this mean we have 5 minutes to get our food cooked and leave the restaurant, or will our table get the full meal cooked starting at 3:40, even though it will stretch out into dinner time? Thanks for any help.

We often don't get the time that we prefer for one or two of our dining choices. If you would like an earlier time for your meal, just keep trying to get it changed. Openings pop up all the time, you just have to keep checking. We have already gotten two of ours changed to a time that better fits our plans. And "Yes", as the above post states, you will be given time to eat your meal. Enjoy your trip and your meal at Teppan Edo. We ate there a couple of years ago and enjoyed it.

You will not have to rush. You'll have plenty of time dont worry. I love the food at Teppan Edo. I've been to a bunch of places in my hometown but Teppan Edo still has the best quality food.

Keep in mind this is japanese, which means no fried rice. Many people seem to be up in arms about it...which I dont understand. But i thought i'd let you know. I think they have a beef flavoured rice, something like that. You can also ask for plain rice thou.

I think they recently switched back to plain steamed sticky rice which, to me, is more what I expect at a Japanese restaurant. Certainly it's what they always served at the few Japanese non-teppan restaurants I used to go to near my office a few years ago. Regardless of whether they have actually switched back, you can still get it. The rice that they had recently been serving has seafood powder or something in it even though it's called beef rice. I didn't quite understand what the manager told me other than that I couldn't eat it because I'm allergic to seafood so they gave me plain steamed sticky white rice which I like especially if you dip it into one of the sauces.

Thank you for the tip on not being able to eat that rice due to a seafood allergy. We have a shell fish allergy which I did not put on our reservation (I have tried to add it after but cannot seem to do it) so will be sure to mention that to them when we get there.

They will usually ask but make sure that you tell them if they don't. They will then usually cook my food first so that mine isn't impacted while cooking someone else's seafood. I've always had someone come out to talk to me at Teppan Edo when I mention a seafood allergy.

Isn't the lunch and dinner menu the same? Why do they say what time dinner starts?

You won't have to worry about timing. I'd book what you can and keep checking back if you want a different time. It's pretty far out still and people are always changing ressies.
