Lumpy?

The "Heffalumps and Woozles" is from The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh. Tigger tells Pooh that Heffalumps and Woozles steal Hunny, so Pooh tries to stand guard with his little pop gun. He then has a nightmare about Heffalumps and Woozles.

This is what I was remembering, and according to IMDb it came out in 1977, which was four years before my first child was born. So, although its not the current version of "Lumpy", I'm glad to know I'm not completely losing my mind.

I had to look this up. I thought Lumpy was a new dwarf.

Well, for the Baby Boomers, there's only ONE Lumpy that springs to mind-

Leave it To Beaver was a huge hit.

just to clarify what i meant, lumpy is a specific character exclusive to the heffalump movie. it's like how there were bears before winnie the pooh, but winnie is winnie. like how disney created gopher despite the fact that gophers had existed for at least a dozen years before.

heffalumps existed in the aa milne books although the catch was they were the most feared of all creatures but nobody had ever seen one (outside of the ones manifested in pooh's dream).

the disney cartoon series introduced heffalumps as actual creatures, usually bad (but piglet made a friend of one). seriously bad anomalies if you ask me.

:thumbsup2 Thanks for the laugh and trip down memory lane!!!

Why do people keep saying Piglet? Did I miss something? I'm really confused....which is nothing unusual. :rotfl2:

In "Pooh's Heffalump Movie", it's Roo who captures Lumpy and becomes friends with him. Now I know that the gang winds up being friends with him, but Roo is the one who had the first friendship with him.

lots of confusion in the thread :)

Books - Heffalumps mentioned by AA Milne. Imagined by Pooh & Friends but never seen. In booth Winnie the Pooh and The House At Pooh Corner.

Movies - in 1968, they appeared as part of a nightmare sequence (the Heffalump and Woozles song) in Winnie the Pooh and the Blustery Day, which is what the attraction at WDW is primarily based on.

in 2005, Lumpy was introduced and befriended Roo at first

... but...

in the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh cartoon, heffalumps also made appearances including a family of them, the son of which was Junior and he was a friend of Piglet.

Junior appeared in the episodes titled 'There's No Camp Like Home' and 'Trap as Trap Can' during the cartoon's first season in 1988.

Aha..we never watched the cartoon, my DS got hooked on the one that was more like live action or puppets...what was that called??...then "The Many Adventures of WTP" was re-released when he was about 2, and it was over. The The Heffalump Movie, The Heffalump Halloween Movie, and now My Friends Tigger and Pooh. He just loves the whole gang, but he ADORES Lumpy. Even though I have told him Lumpy isnt at WDW, we still spend a good deal of time looking for him, and I am sure we will be on "Lumpy Watch" when we go back next month.

Welcome to Pooh Corner was the first live action/puppet one. about the same time as Dumbo's Circus, which was done the same way.

but i'm sure you're referring to the Book of Pooh (all puppets) which came most recently (before My Friends Tigger & Pooh that is) and is what the playhouse disney live segment is based off of

For those, like me, who didn't make the connection, the OP is referring to the Heffalump. All together now; well, DUH! (insert smilie smacking his forehead here).

Nope, haven't seen him anywhere as a character, and I can't remember for certain if he appears in the Pooh ride in Fantasyland, but I don't think so.

You know... in the Addams Family... Lumpy is a cousin! ;)

Yes! That's it! Our entire Pooh OCD can be traced back to Book of Pooh!
