Lumiere has arrived!

My DS12 is playing Lumiere in his school's production of Beauty and the Beast this coming Friday. He's really building up his biceps from holding up his "candle hands" and his French accent is impeccable! Since he's off at a tech rehearsal right now, I decided it was safe to open a box that came from Amazon yesterday. I ordered a 14" stuffed Lumiere to give him after the show. He's so stinkin' cute that I can't bear to put him back in the box! But since I don't want my DS to see him until after the show, I'll have to hide him. Poor Lumiere is off to the closet for the week...

Awesome! I saw B & B when it was the traveling show and came to Detroit. The actor who played Lumiere was so good! Best wishes to your son!

My son is in the pit orchestra for his school's production of Hairspray... also some brave boys in that play!

Oh this kid has tons of self confidence! That's what the director loves about him. He'll sing, dance and do the cool accent. He also played Captain Shang in Mulan two years ago. Now that he's landed Lumiere, his next dream role is Enjolras (the leader of the student revolt) in Les Miserables. I told him he'd have to wait until at least high school for that one! I am very excited about seeing him do B&B this week!

Wow that is such a cool idea. Our high school just put on Beauty and the Beast. My son was the beast and I would have loved to have given him a stuffed beast ... dag!

Wow, Lumiere is such a great part! The singing alone is fabulous, let alone perfecting the accent. Have a great time at all of the shows!

(And yes, our director made our Lumiere practice ALL the time with his hands in the air so he would be ready for the show.)
