Lulu201's Healthy Living Log (comments welcome!)

:bounce: WW Goal!:bounce:

That is a HUGE accomplishment! ::yes:: Way to go my princess: Erin!

I have to echo everything that Doe said. The age old question of what should we weigh is one of the most frustrating questions ever (Right up there with the meaning of life, and why we are here?) You should be very very proud of where you are and I think you need to do some genuine reflection and journaling. Is this where you want to be? Do you want to try to lose more? Are you ready to start maintaing? Do you want to maintain for the moment and when you start training for the marathon you can start trying to lose pounds again? These are questions that only you can answer.

My 2-cents - it seems to me that you are still losing! Which is AWESOME! Why not keep going? As I said yesterday plug away for a few more weeks and see if you can drop those last 5lbs and then do some more reflection. Whatever you decide you are never ever allowed to stop posting on the WISH! We need you here as our Inspiration! :)

Have a great day princess: Erin!

"There's a hero
If you look inside your heart
You don't have to be afraid
Of what you are
There's an answer
If you reach into your soul
And the sorrow that you know
Will melt away

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

It's a long road
When you face the world alone
No one reaches out a hand
For you to hold
You can find love
If you search within yourself
And the emptiness you felt
Will disappear

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

Oh oooh
Lord knows
Dreams are hard to follow
But don't let anyone
Tear them away, hey yeah
Hold on
There will be tomorrow
In time
You'll find the way

And then a hero comes along
With the strength to carry on
And you cast your fears aside
And you know you can survive
So when you feel like hope is gone
Look inside you and be strong
And you'll finally see the truth
That a hero lies in you

That a hero lies in you
Mhhh
That a hero lies in
You "

CONGRATULATIONS ERIN! WW GOAL WEIGHT!

I'm so proud of you, and you should be VERY proud of yourself. You've come a long way baby! You've also inspired me to keep on with my journey. People actually do reach their goals!

As for your questions about final goal weight. Sorry, I don't have any easy answers for you. You've reached the preset number that you set for yourself, but you don't seem satisfied. Happy yes, satisfied no. I think you have some soulsearching to do. You will figure out the answer. In the meantime Celebrate your success. What was your goal reward? Sister, it is time for some serious shopping.

Take care of yourself. You are definately a SUPER jock princess: athelete now.

:sunny:

You are amazing:bounce: :Pinkbounc Congrats on the 2 lbs and hitting your first goal weight:p

So many decisions to make, doesn't it feel great, though. I am sure you look fantastic and feel even better so if you decide to lose more your body will tell you how it feels.

An awe-inspiring moment! Have a great friday!

Way to go Erin!:jumping1: You reached your goal! That is absolutely wonderful!!!:Pinkbounc I am so excited for you!

As for your decision about further weight loss... if you decide to, you can always set a new goal and set out to accomplish that one too. ::yes::

Erin, thank you for the inspiration that you are! Go ahead and celebrate your success! You deserve it!!:Pinkbounc ::yes::

Have a great weekend!

Tracy:wave2: :teeth:

Oh, my gosh. You all are so awesome. :grouphug: Judy, Doreen, Amanda, Beth, MeMe, and Tracy--you have made me feel so special. You know I'm tearing up here; no one understands this quite like you do. Thank you all for sharing this with me. I can't tell you how I appreciate you.

The other night Dr. Phil was on The Secrets of Extreme Makeover and he was going over his seven points to success. Are you familiar with them? Well, #7 is about having a circle of friends or support system that will encourage your healthy lifestyle, and you and all my WISH friends are certainly that to me--and more.

There are times I wish I could explain to other people the incredible power of the WISH and how important it has been to my journey. For me to make the changes that I've been making, I've needed so much support--not just like in a large once a week meeting like I used to have at WW--but rather, personal daily (sometimes hourly :p ) support, and you have given it freely and openly to me.

Hmmm, a reward for hitting WW goal: I'm going to Disney World!:teeth: Not 'til January, but I'm going!

Again, :grouphug: to all,
Erin

I'd like to interupt this massive celebration party for a brief service message to myself :

Even though I am princess: Lulu basking in the :sunny: of hitting my WW goal for today, business is business, and I must establish my plan for today.

1. Vitamins: :D
2. Water: 32 oz. done, at least 32 oz. to go.
3. Exercise: I'd like to shoot for 4 miles, but DD is home (1/2 day at school) and I'm not sure what I'll end up doing with her.
4. Food: It's now officially the weekend and I have tons of flex to burn, SO, I'm going to spend a little here and there as I see fit.
So far, b was fruit salad, oatmeal, and coffee=6, I had an extra coffee while running errands today=1. Lunch will be tuna salad and some celery sticks, I think at 4, and dinner will be two slices of mushroom pizza at 18. Total should be 29 (22 T, 3 AP?, and 4 flex).

Edits: lunch was 5 points, not 4. Did 2 miles on the treadie, so only 2 AP. That'll mean at least 6 of the flex with a total of 30.
Had more water. I think I want a nap. I went over my journal from last Fri.--yesterday, and I walked a total of 15.89 miles last week. Today's 2 miles doesn't compare with last Friday's 4.25, but it has me going in the right direction for the upcoming week. I can smile about that.

Now, let us resume the party already in progress! ::yes::

:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1:

 I'm sitting here, still soaking up the warmth and :sunny: of all the good wishes that you all sent to me yesterday. Thank you, again. :D

So many of the things my WISH buddies said struck a chord with me. . .Doreen's, "how do we define success" and Amanda's "you're still losing," and Beth's "happy, yes. Satisfied, no" are phrases that I need to tie together. Another thing that was even more apparant to me was the while it was fun to announce and to get the kind congratulations of everyone, nothing really changes when you hit the goal. It's like when Lisa Z. hit the 100 Day Cheat Free Challenge and then turned her clippie back to 1--you just have to keep on keeping on. Like MelanieC says, "It's a journey, not a destination."

So, number one--that's what I'm going to do. Keep on keeping on, striving for a healthy life. Leading that healthy life is THE definition of success for me. For now, I'm going to try to keep losing--I'm not going to try any kind of WW maintenance yet (no adding extra points to my target). I'm happy with the changes in my body and in my behavior, but I'm not satisfied yet. Will satisfaction EVER come? That I don't know, but I'm trying to be confident enough in my belief that I'll "know it when I feel it." Do I need a number to strive for? I don't know. If I do, I'm back to thinking I'd like to try on 145-150 and see how that feels, but maybe it'll be 150-155? I'll just wait and see.

Will I keep numbers in my siggie? Maybe. . .maybe not. Jury's still out on that one. I've done enough thinking this morning--heck, I haven't even had my coffee! Everyone's still sleeping,
though, so this is the perfect time to write. :D

It all comes down to this: the plan for the day!:p

Yesterday's stats, first:

1. Vitamins--25/31; I've missed only one day this month!
2. Water--24/31; I've missed only two days this month!
3. Exercise--21/31; I've exercised for three weeks out of this month!
4. Food--22/31; I've stayed on plan over three weeks of this month!

Guess what the plan is? :p

1. Vitamins--will take.
2. Water--will drink.
3. Exercise--plan is to get on the treadie as soon as I take DD to her rehearsal. I want to walk through 2 CDs. I have a sore throat and a cold (small, not raging), so I'm not going to push the speed. This will be an endurance mission! :hyper:
4. Food--will stay on plan. Yesterday was a fun day of spending flex points:rolleyes: . I had some mushroom pizza for dinner, a mini-cinnabon at the mall, and some popcorn as a late night snack, BUT I was still on program and I still have points left in the flex bank! :Pinkbounc Yeah, there are days I really like WW! :p
Today I'm back to oatmeal and coffee for b, a salad for lunch, and tonight will be shrimp for dinner. I'm thinking 22 T, at least 3 AP. . .that should cover it just fine.

Did you think I was going to write a novel here? :D Maybe THAT should be my goal--"Musings from the WISH." :p

Oh, I did treat myself to some new CDs as a little goal reward--one was the Best of Patti LaBelle--now I can hear my "New Attitude" song without having to be on the treadie walking to my SHAPE 3 CD!

I'm moving onward, gals. :grouphug: --
Erin

Erin,
Congratulations on reaching your WW goal! That's an awesome accomplishment, you should be very proud! You are so right when you say that leading a healthy life is the definition of success, it's so important. Keep up the great work, you are truly and inspiration and you provide motivation to me. I hope you have a wonderful day and congratulations once again!

Sounds like you did lots of reflecting! Good for you! I'm glad to hear that you are going to keep going "Never give up! Never Surrender!"

~Amanda

Have a wonderful Saturday:sunny:

All that serious thinking before coffee how did you do it?

What music seems to be the best for a good 1-2 mile walk at 15 minute pace?

Update on Saturday:

1. Vitamins-:D
2. Water--32 oz.
3. Exercise--coming right up
4. Food--5 so far, salad soon

MeMe, I love my SHAPE CD's. Since I only have the intermediate and advanced, I usually pop in the intermediate for a quickie walk (15-20). At least I get a brief warm up--no cool down, though. I have WW and Jane Fonda audiocassettes, but the SHAPE are my favorites.

Time for lunch. . .

Edit: Lunch was 9

Exercise was 3.65 on the treadie in 57 min. No time for anything else today.

Finals for the day:

1. Vitamins 26/31
2. Food 25/31
3. Exercise 22/31
4. Food--stayed on plan! 23/31

:sunny: Good Sunday morning!:sunny: Hi, Tracy!

It's a brand new day and it looks like it could be sunny one like yesterday. Today's a full day--I play at church this a.m., will run to get some produce afterwards, then will stop at KMart, and THEN will come home and continue working on little projects that I want done before my mom comes on Saturday. Then we're going downtown (into Philly) to see DD in a concert at the Kimmel Center, Philly's most prestigious concert hall. It's a big huge deal, and we're all very excited--it's going to be a great time. There'll be little time for the DIS, but that's as it should be, I guess. Other things first. . .

The plan, though, is there every day.:D

1. Vitamins
2. Water
3. Exercise--I'll do as much as I can, time-wise. Also won't be bad physically to only do a little bit--I have a sore throat and headache again this morning. Maybe some coffee will help the headache (ya gotta love those medicinal qualities of coffee!) and drinking more water will help the throat. Time will tell.
4. Food--22 plus AP; I have 4.5 flex left. Maybe I'll eat them?

Gotta find the cortisone cream and help little Mickey with his feet. His thyroid tests came back negative, btw, and it looks like he's stuck with allergy problems for him (and me, his primary bather) to deal with. What 'cha gonna do, right? He's my buddy, I guess the least I can do is wash his feet a few times a week.

Time to get moving into the day. . .

Erin

Edit: Except for my jello tonight, I'm done eating for the day.
Walked Mickey, but I have some Achilles heel pain--that's all I'm going to do. I'll still count it as exercise. I'm still trying to get my water down; I had my vitamins. I don't think I'll be back tonight. I'll turn my clippie and do my stats tomorrow.

Wow you do have a full plate today! I hope you'll be able to get everything accomplished that you hoped! Have a great day today! :sunny:

Dear WISH-sis,

I sent you a PM, but I wanted to stop by your journal and send you some extra vitamin C enriched :wizard: for that cold you've got! When it rains, it pours, girlfriend, and you look like you're getting lots of rain. :( :umbrella: Just hang in there and turn that flood into a cruise :boat: - ride the waves, sweetie! I'll be by often to keep your spirits up and cheer you on.

I hope the concert today was fabulous - you must be so proud of your daughter and her choir!

Take good care of you, dear Erin, for you are most definitely worth it!! :sunny: :sunny:

I just lost my whole journal entry, and now I don't have time to do another one! Oh, well, if forces me to be short and sweet for a change! :p

Last night was absolutely amazing--the concert was fantastic and the whole experience will be one we all remember forever.

Stats from yesterday:

Vitamins--27/31
Water--26/31
Exercise--22/31--was going to count walk with the DPup, but no
Food--24/31

Plan for today:

1. Vitamins
2. Water--fill that mug and DRINK!
3. Exercise--quick two miles on treadie is all I have time for
4. Food--22 T plus 2 AP. Lots of fresh fruit and veggies

B will be the usual at 5.

More later.

Edit #1:

Had the vitamins. :D Walked the dog and did a quickie mile. Sorry, but that's all I can manage. :D Have had about 40 oz. of water so far. :D Had a salad for lunch at 9=14; Will have fruit salad (1.5), pb sandwich, and jello for dinner=6.5, total so far is 20.5. Will have to scrounge around for another 2.5. I love when I have that "problem." ;) Maybe a yogurt and some fat free biscotti w/afternoon coffee?

Took the dog for his haircut, went to the vet for more meds, picked up doggie doo in the yard :( , took the dog for a walk (is this guy high maintenance or what??????), made fruit salad, jello, and baked a bunch of chicken strips. Finished the laundry and put it all away. Now it's time to go to work! :faint: Hehe! I'll finish up the day later.

:sunny: :sunny: Good morning, dear princess: Lulu!! :sunny: :sunny:

If things get overwhelming today, you can take a mental break and imagine yourself relaxing at the palace, with servants at your beck and call to fulfill every wish and do all the work for you! ::yes:: Aaaaaahhhhhhhh, sounds like a place I'd like to be, for a few weeks anyway! :teeth:

We're going to let our healthy habits carry us through the day. We know how to do this - we could practically do all the healthy stuff on autopilot by now! Besides, it isn't a burden to eat healthy food - it's a gift that we give ourselves. We like gifts, right? :D

I'm sending you lots of :goodvibes and I'll be walking through the day with you in spirit. :happy1: As always, you're in my thoughts and especially in my prayers.

 , dear WISH-sis!

I'm so glad the concert went well. It will be a memory to cherish for many many years to come!!!

Wishing you a great Monday!

Wow, you are doing great! Having just started WW I can only imagine how good it must feel to reach goal.

That's awesome!
