Lulu201's Healthy Living Journal--Just trying my best to walk the walk! Come on by!

Hi Erin! Here's some sunshine headed your way! You're really rockin' it!

Hi Erin,

Well, I hope the weather improves for the weekend. We were cloudy and gloomy too. You are rocking on the smilies. I hear you about the moderation thing. I'm just not in a place to spend 3 hours in the gym right now. Erin, we had a bomb threat at the local catholic school. Unfortunately, it can happen anywhere. Well, I hope you have a fantastic and relaxing weekend.
Take care,
Beth

Oh, heck. I've lost track of my smilie count. I guess if I really strain my brain I can figure this out. As of today:

1. Devotions: 4/30 :)
2. Vitamins: 4/30 Haven't had any yet today.
3. Water: 3/30 I've had one glass today, but I'm going to get the rest in.
4. Exercise: 3/30; just napped yesterday. :cloud9: Didn't feel like exercising.
Today, well, it remains to be seen. I have a lot to do.
5. Food: 2/30. This is the most discouraging. I don't feel comfortable in my body and I want that thinner feeling, BUT I don't seem to want it bad enough to give up eating unhealthy things! I'm going to pray today that I can get the "will" back. Breakfast was an eng. muffin w/pb, coffee (mostly decaf). Lunch was 2 tsp. of pork barbeque, one lebanon bologna and swiss cheese sandwich. Dinner will be 2 slices of pizza.
6. Scale: :) 4/30 181.

Goals for the week: devotions, vitamins, water, and scale every day. 30 min. of exercise EVERY day--I owe this to myself. I'll follow my points all week. Truly, I will, and everyone should hold me accountable. (Amanda, this means YOU!) I need to do this for myself--emotionally and physically. I'm also going to spend some time each day reading--either for pleasure or for therapy. :p

I'm on my way to pick up some healthy foods--
Erin

As of yesterday:

1. :) 4/30
2. :) 5/30
3. :) 4/30
4. 3/30
5. 2/30
6. :) 4/30

Here I go on today:

1. Devotions: :) 5/30
2. Vitamins: :) 6/30
3. Water: 14 oz. done so far
4. Exercise: :) 2.5 miles in about 40 minutes. Also walked Mickey, but not the .5 mile. Just around the block today.
5. Food: Breakfast was yogurt w/raspberries, strawberries, and grapes plus coffee (4). Snack will be cheese (2), plus 1/2 light eng. muffin (1)=3. Lunch will be tuna, crackers, and lite mayo (5.5). Snack will be fresh cut veggies (0). Dinner will be McDonald's salad (10). Dessert will be s.f. chocolate chocolate chip tastee cake "finger cake" and skim milk (4). Total points for the day: 26.5/24 T, 2 AP, .5 flex. Optional planned treat: small iced decaf coffee w/skim=.5
6. Scale: :) 182. Rats.

I'm feeling on top of this today, but then again, it's only 8:45 or so! :p It's a busy day--carpet guy coming this a.m., drs. appointment at 12:45, work this afternoon, but I say bring it on! I WANT to be on Weight Watchers today. . .I want to feel lighter and thinner, and today I'm ready to do what it takes to get there. Now tomorrow, well, I don't know what it'll bring, but I know I have what it takes to do today in a healthy way, and that's all I have to worry about!

Looking upward, moving downward, pound by pound!
Erin

Edit 11:45: I've had 52 oz. of water already! I love my huge 32 oz. WW mug!
Had my a.m. snack--I've been on plan all day and it's almost noon! :Pinkbounc

Edit 8:14 p.m.: I'm about ready to leave work, but wanted to get this in: 3. :)
Points: Lunch was the McD. salad. Had my veggies. On my way home to have the tuna and my dessert. I think it's going to be a 6 :) day! :bounce:

Your menu looks yummy today! I'm jealous! You have a great plan and your exercise is already done. Keep your water happy and stick to your menu today and you will have success!

~Amanda

Looks like a 6 :) day for Erin today!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Way to go!!! Keep it up, Erin, for one more day!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: You and I just need to string together 2 or 3 of these days and watch that scale number retreat. We can do it together, WISH sis!! :cool1: :cool1:

Erin- I so totally know what you meant about not having the motivation. That has/had been my problem for a while. These boards totally help me with that, though. Since I'm on here daily anyway, I feel like I will be letting people down if I don't keep it up! I used to be on the WW boards, but didn't get that feeling. You did great today- keep it up!

It's Tuesday, dear WISH-sis!!

Care to stroll the healthy living road with me today?? :cool1: :cool1:

I'll be walking the walk and you can too!! ::yes::

I can't believe it! I just spent 15 minutes posting here, rambling on and on, and I LOST IT! Drats!
OK, here's the shortened version :) . I got 6 :) yesterday. My stats are like this:

1. Devotions: 5/30
2. Vitamins: 6/30
3. Water: 5/30
4. Exercise: 4/30
5. Food: 3/30
6. Scale: 5/30

Today:

1. Read a great devotions at dailyguideposts.com. I wrote about it before :sad2: I lost it. :)
2. Vitamins :)
3. Water: 12 oz. of 64 done.
4. Exercise: walked Mickey and will walk my 2 mile "around the development" loop.
5. Food: have the menu all planned for today (see Lost Post  )
6. Scale: blessed with a WW water whoosh. :) 179 today.

I'm doing wash, working at home, working at the studio this afternoon. . .looks like a great day. I'm pumped and ready to go onward and downward--for today. :teeth:

Thanks for stopping by, Brandi, Doreen, and Amanda. :grouphug:

Erin

Edit: 3. 32 oz. of water done, 4. 35 minutes of walking :) , 5. Have had a 1/2 lite english muffin (.5), 1 tbp. pb (2), s.f. hazelnut coffee w/1/2 and 1/2 (1), yogurt (2), fruit salad (1)=6.5 so far. Plans for lunch: tuna and crackers (5.5) and veggies (0). Afternoon snack: orange (1). Dinner: chicken caesar salad w/dressing on the side (15). Dessert: s.f. tastee cake and 8 oz. milk=4. Total planned for day 31.5 minus 24TP=7.5 minus 2AP=5.5 from flex. Total remaining in flex will be 27.5 for rest of the week. OK, now I've got to get working on my musical script.

Edit: 3. :) , 5. Had a roll and butter at Saladworks, so I'll count 5 points in for that and skip dessert. That means I'm using 6.5 from flex today and have 26.5 for the rest of the week. I meant to bring a baggie with me so I could take the roll home, but I forgot, so what could I do? :confused3 I HAD to eat it! :p If I had a clippie bear, I'd roll it over (remember those, you guys?), but instead I'll just say today's a 6 :) . Here are the new stats:

1. 6/30
2. 7/30
3. 6/30
4. 5/30
5. 4/30
6. 6/30

Don't ya just hate that! :badpc: BAD COMPUTER! Well I'm sure your menu is great and good job on the walking. That is becoming a habit with you ;) Enjoy your time working from home!

~Amanda

Way to go Erin! You did gerat yesterday! OK, so I'm starting to get the walking itch. I have to work late tonight and then home to cook- maybe I can talk Dh into grilling the pork chops and then we can all go walking!!

Warning: this post is just a "vent" post. I'm tired and worn and I just want to let it out here. . .my head has ached a lot today. I really have a desire to go down to the kitchen and feed myself anything I can grab, but I know I won't be truly happy with myself if I do that. Instead I'm going to get my WW mug and put some yummy caffeine free diet coke in it, put on my jammies, and hunker down for the evening.

I HATE not feeling good. For some bizarre reason, it's very hard for me to accept. . .instead of just saying "I'm tired" or "I'm achy" or "I'm stressed" I spend a lot of energy trying and wanting NOT to feel that way. Isn't that weird? Why, I wonder, am I that way? :confused3 I mean, what's the big deal, anyway? It's been a long day and I'm tired and have another gosh darn headache--no biggie. Don't get me wrong, it's not like I suffer in silence--I do my share of complaining (ask my DH :teeth: )--but it makes me mad sometimes. Ugh, I'm just in a bad mood. I don't know why--I had a good day overall. Guess it's 'cause I'm tired. I feel like a child whose mom should just put her to bed!

All right, that was enough of a self-pity party. I'm going to get my bathrobe now; I'll put myself to bed! :p

E.

:sunny: :sunny: OK, I'm over myself. :p :sunny: :sunny: It's a brand new Wednesday and I'm ready to take it on!

I'm feeling good after yesterday's healthy living--so good, in fact, I want to do it again today!

1. Devotions: :) This morning I read from the "Purpose Driven Life" website. The article was about finding peace.
2. Vitamins--haven't taken these yet
3. Water--haven't had any yet
4. Exercise--will walk Mickey his .5 and then do 2.3 this morning.
5. Food: breakfast was 4: 1 pt. english muffin, 2 pt. pb, 1 pt. s.f. hazelnut coffee. Snack will be yogurt and 1/2 a grapefruit at 9:30 (3). I'm still trying to plan the rest of the day.
6. Scale: :) holding steady under 180.

I'm off to school!
Erin

Edit: 2. :) , 3. 24 oz. so far out of 64, 4. Walked 2.5 in 40 min., also took Mickey for his stroll :), 5. Had my yogurt and a banana (4). So far today: 8.
Lunch will be out with DH--chicken and broccoli at the Chinese place. Would rather have General Tso's but it's too point-laden. I'm allowing myself 8 points (2 cups of chick/broc and 1/2 cup rice). Snack will be veggies (0), dinner will be tuna and crackers at 5.5 and dessert will be my s.f. tastee cake and skim milk (4). Total points for the day: 25.5. Total allowed for the day: 24T, 2 AP, and flex available. I have more than enough to cover today. Heck, I might even give myself a little 1 point treat here or there. I still haven't eaten that grapefruit. . .

This morning I straightened up the kitchen and have doing laundry. I'm in the final "putting away" stage, I'm happy to say. Next on the to-do list is to wash the dog. After his blow dry  , I'll head out into the rest of the work day.

Amanda, I read your post below. I hear ya, sister. In fact, I'm convinced that we really grow up when we learn to mother OURSELVES. Guess I have some growing yet to do :p , but I know I'm getting there. Step by step.

Good Morning Erin! It is a fact that women do not take care of themselves as they would those they love. So when you are feeling achy and tired you as a woman try to fight through that because - everyone needs Mom. We as woman take to much on ourselves all the time and feel we are the only ones who can handle it all. You will need to learn that when you are tired to accept it and do what your body needs you to do to rest. This might mean asking DH to cook dinner, or it might mean going to bed early and letting DH grade homework. Whatever it is you will need to learn to ask for help. If it makes you feel any better though - WE ALL GO THROUGH THIS!

I hope you have a great day today. Enjoy your walk and menu, and keep those stupid headaches away!

~Amanda
