Anybody know the tax rate along the Champs-Élysées??:goodvibes

Sorry John.:confused3

Whether you envision buying half of Paris, or simply enjoy the wealth of window-shopping opportunities, Parisian shops are an integral part of the city's cultural identity, and make it the ultimate destination for the discerning consumer. Those fortunate enough to be visiting at the beginning of January or the beginning of July during the sales, may take advantage of substantial discounts, ranging between 30% and 50% on clothing, shoes, accessories, and furnishing fabrics. Almost all retailers can provide you with a "détaxe" form, to claim a refund on the 18.6% sales tax if purchases exceed a certain level; this form should be presented to customs upon leaving France, and you should expect your refund within about six weeks.

I can see DU telling ABD that they want an extra day in Paris to go luggage shopping at LV.

Who knows....it could happen.

There is a Louis Vuitton store in Hollywood and Highland as well.

If I bought it in February, I'd have it for my trip to Paris.

:lmao:

That's me.

I want a Louis Vuitton 55cm Keep All and they are actually $1100.00

It's all Sean Connery's fault.

He's in an ad on the back of Vanity Fair and he's sitting on a dock in the Bahamas.

He's wearing khakis, a black turtle neck and a straw hat. The LV Keep All is on the dock next to him.

He looks amazing for a man his age and I'm envious.

I dont know if I'm envious of how good he looks or the fact that he's in a gorgeous location....but I'm thinking it's the $1100 carry on.

I think if I get one, I will look good in khakis and a black turtle neck and be transported to that beautiful spot.

I think that's worth $1100.

And then there's the one with Mikhail Gorbachev in the back of a cab....

Yes.....I'm a victim of advertising.

I witnessed your love of LV first hand in Hollywood. Gotta admit, it caught my eye also. $1100 for a bag or $1100 towards the London/Paris/DLP ABD trip? Hhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm..................

Oh, I know that Sean Connery/LV ad!!! I love it- both Sean and that gorgeous bag. I want one, too, Kevin. Think we could get a little discount if we buy two of them?

I'm mistaken.

It's $1250.00

But it's really nice.

And classic.

Never out of style.

And I get yelled at for my Vera Bradley and Dooneys? :sad2::sad2::sad2: :rolleyes1

Well Kevin, there was a recent article in the NY Times about spending $$$ and happiness. It basically said that spending $$$ on experiences (like travel, concert tickets, etc.) was the best way to ensure happiness. When buying material goods, the best way to ensure happiness was to spend some time thinking about, anticipating, researching etc. The more time spent savoring the future purchase, the more happiness when the item was finally bought.
I think if you continue to "savor" the thought of buying this bag, you could certainly buy it in February and get maximum happiness!
Just saying.... :thumbsup2

Amanda

PS This is how I have survived without an iPad for this long. I keep telling myself that spending that $$$ on Disney vacations gives more happiness than iPad and when I finally drive my DH crazy enough that I get an iPad, I'll be really, really happy!!!!
