Pop Daddy: You're a mess! :rotlf:

OP: I have a Vera Bradley luggage set. Not sure if this is what you want, or not, but I love it! :)

I've got a ton of luggage. I've got Disney luggage, American Tourister luggage, JC Penney luggage, and Tumi luggage.

My Disney luggage is holding up with no problems, although others have said theirs isn't holding up.

My American Tourister set is older and very heavy for the quality it offers.

My JC Penney luggage is a best buy for value in relation to investment.

My TUMI luggage is phenomenol, but very expensive and not going to be at all good value for people who don't travel alot. (I bought one piece full price went I spent 300 nights a year on the road, one piece on clearance, and another piece through a friend of a friend who works for TUMI, otherwise I'm not sure I'd have more than the original piece and my briefcase in that brand.)

We just got my daughter a set at Bass outlet. It's five pieces and all fits together inside the largest which is great for storage. We paid less than $100. I know it's cheap, but I've paid high prices for some name brand luggage and I honestly see no different in the quality or construction of these Bass pieces compared to those. We don't travel a lot; fly rarely, so the luggage investment isn't of great importance. I suppose if we were having them handled regularly by the airlines, we'd find what they were really made of.

Ricardo Del Mar Lite--we compared luggage at all the local department stores (Macy's, Belks,Dillards,JCPenney,Sears, etc.) and thought this was the highest quality for the most reasonable price. It's available on Amazon, too.

Check out www.ebags.com. Usually good prices, good return policy and user reviews. I've bought about 3-4 things from them, and have been really happy.

We use the TravelPro 4 (I think?) roller bags. We've taken them all over and they're holding really, really well--from a quick 3 nighter at Disneyland to a 3 week Greek tour.

My only recommendation is on color---do NOT buy black, navy or red!!
If you have ever stood at an airport luggage carousel waiting for your luggage you will know why :teeth:
Very hard to find these colors of luggage when every other piece that comes around is one of these colors(even with all of the little "add-ons" to make your bag visible from all the others!) Believe me we discovered this with our navy luggage on holidays!!

I agree..I have noticed little difference in quality once you get beyond the really junky stuff. We have some high end stuff, and our other set is holding up just as well.

One thing....I always get Navy instead of Black so I can see it on the baggage claim roundy thing. I had a black bag, and even with the colored stuff on it, I had trouble identifying it.

I have Eagle Creek luggage and love it. They have a lifetime warranty on the luggage and actually stand behind it. I have the kind that can be carried as a duffel, backpack or wheeled with the telescoping handle. It's great to have the flexibity. Its alot easier for me to carry the weight like a backpack and then I still have my hands free to deal with my kids and their luggage. I have a 28" size (and have had it about 7 years now and its good as new despite me being VERY hard on it) but am buying a 22" size also since it'll be easier to lug around for our Europe trip next year.

We have two sets of Hartman. My husband and I use a tweed/leather set and my daughter has a brown and red set. The quality and durability of Hartman is fantastic. Our original pieces are 25 years old and they are as good as the day we bought them. These are pricey but we have been able to get them from a local Hartman outlet.

I agree! But at the same time, don't get anything too light in color. I bought luggage in lilac and teal, and they were so dirty by the time we finished our trip.

At any rate, I bought this set at Bon Ton for less than $100 for a two-piece set, and a three-piece set. They seem to be very sturdy considering the price!

After having bought some cheap luggage and after experiencing many not so good experiences with them, I only travel with Samsonite now. I think they offer the best quality for the money.
Of course, if you choose from the more luxurious models, you will pay more for same quality and nicer design.
I have the basic stuff, and couldn't live/ travel without it anymore.

Thanks everyone, I am going to verture out this weekend and start. I had a great suitcase that my parents used for their honeymoon that went all over the world, well the last stop when I went to Australia a wheel feel off it, now I can't find a place that fixes stuff like that. again thanks for the help, the DIS pulls through again, youre the :thumbsup2 :cool1: best

We just bought Dockers luggage ($99) from Kohl's and love it. The suitcase has four wheels instead of two and it's great. It moves in all directions and we thought it handled beautifully.

I can highly recommend. We just returned from a trip to Colorado and really liked this luggage.
