Well our trip was great until we got to the airport to return home. Our flight was cancelled, so we had to wait in the insanely long southwest ticketing line with all our luggage, stroller and 2 kids. Once we finally got our flightS figured out we were checking our luggage when the agent weighed each piece needless to say there we are at the desk trying to transfer things (clothing, shoes...) from bag to bag to make all of them are under 50 lbs. We did curbside when we left home and had no problem and yes I was very careful to pack things back in the same case, I know it sounds like a heavy case but my husband and I shared one so we would have one less thing to worry about!

The airlines have become more and more pickey about weight. I scuba dive and my gear alone pushes the weight limits pretty close every time. I've gotten into the habit of packing early and weighing my bags! Of course the airlines would be happy to charge extra for the extra weight.

One tip, check your bag itself. I have on bag (with the wheels and all) that weighs 15 lbs by itself, empty. I save a bit a weight just using a different bag.
