Luggage transportation for a split stay?

Hello, I’m hoping someone can answer this question for me. I have never done a split stay before and I am planning my first one shortly. I am staying at Port Orleans Riverside and then the Yacht Club. Checkout of the Port Orleans is by 11am, and check in to YC is at 3pm. We also have park tickets this day, so I am trying to figure out the smartest way to do this. Does anyone know if these resorts offer free luggage transportation from resort to resort? Or am I better off storing my suitcases at the YC until my room is ready?

Additionally, do resorts typically let you check in early? Or is that 3pm time what I’m looking at? Thanks in advance!

Bell services does free resort to resort transfers. People are split on if it’s a good idea or not, it can be as late as like 5pm to receive your bags. Personally I love it but I never plan something like a fancy dinner where I would need to change clothes or pool time that day.

Think of 3pm as a guideline. Your room could be ready at 1pm or it could be ready at 4:30pm. It’s Disney and you can’t rush them, it’s ready when it’s ready. If you want in early your best bet is no room requests.

We have done it before and we're doing it again on our upcoming trip. It was super easy and we didn't have any issues getting the luggage in a timely fashion. That said, I put a few necessities in our park bag on transfer day (toothbrushes/toothpaste, swimsuits, change of undies and pj's) just in case.

I prefer handling my own luggage, so we lyft/uber on check-in/check-out days. We simply go to the next resort, see if our room is ready (yes, sometimes you can check-in early) and, if it's not, we leave our luggage with the second hotel's bell services and go to the parks from there.

We have done it before and it worked fine, but we didn't plan anything big during the day, just went to the parks and came back to our new resort around 6pm.

We use the Disney luggage transfer, leave your bags at bell service when you go to the parks with instructions to transfer to the next resort. Head out for the day and return to the new resort in the evening and grab your bags from bell services. As pp's mentioned don't expect them to arrive until at least check in time.

It is the easiest thing there is to do and a major reason I don't mind splitting stays in WDW. Normally the hassles of packing, and the lag time between check out and check in are reasons I would not split on say Kauai, or a similar place, but Disney makes it beyond easy and convenient.

First question is, do you have your own car or rental?
If no car, then let Disney move your bags, but as noted be aware you won't have access to those bags for some time, so plan ahead.
If you have a car, I'd just load them up and head out when your ready head to YC and check-in/drop-off or do what ever.
