We have received our Magic Bands & the yellow tags for the Magical Express but no luggage tags.....I have googled it but can't seem to find an answer - so is that a thing of the past?
Thanks!

Did you check the box in the area beneath where the MBs were held? Some have found them there. If not, I can move you to Resorts for some better answers.

Did you book a package? or room only?

If it was with a package they are in the box with the bands, under the bands.

In the new style box I got the tags were on the left side with like a pull-up tab. It was labeled as luggage tags and the other side held an information card about the band. The straps for them are inside the tube the bands are on and you have to take the tube out to get at them. They are terrible anyway, so just use an elastic hair band.

The new boxes are very clever, though plain looking on the outside.

Ok I went a little crazy on the poor box ......they are not there! I had read that sometimes they were hard to find in the new boxes but I'm confident they aren't there (the box is no longer a box!) And yes, it's a package. We went thru a travel agent & in the past some stuff comes to me & some stuff goes to her so maybe she got them?!?!
If they are the same ones from my google search they are super cute & I was looking forward to getting them!

Call your TA and ask if she received your tags.

Moving to Resorts. :)

Well according to my TA they don't send them anymore :guilty:
Has anyone received them recently?

Your TA is wrong.

Are you absolutely sure that she booked a MYW package and not some travel agent special deal?

That's the question to ask!

If it's MYW then the tags should be there.

But if she did a package on her own (like if you got convention rates and cheaper but non-uogradeable tickets) then you don't get the matchy cute luggage tags.

Oh wow - I have no idea! I just thought a package was a package. Great question......
Thanks!!!

Sorry to jump in but this thread just made me realize that I didn't book a package this time so we won't get our luggage tags :( I'm obviously happy that I am saving money with my room only, it was just a little treat that we looked forward to receiving.

Not totally off topic.... The WDW luggage tags were/are cute.... but watch out for those soft plastic "tag retainers". The airline baggage monkeys (ABM) are VERY good at ripping those luggage tags right off the bag.

Instead? Hit Lowes or Home Depot. Buy some THICK electrical wire ties. Use TWO of them :). When the ABMs manage to break off the end of the tag itself? There are a LOAD of solid ALUMINUM tags (engraved to your specs) on the Internet :). With Electrical wire Ties, and Aluminum Tags? The ABMs will need to set fire to your luggage to destroy the tags :).

We're still looking for a really good way to protect the Magical Express tags.... these tend to get destroyed in a heartbeat :(.

Actually, it isn't the 'ABMs' that destroy the tags...it's the equipment. The conveyor belts eat tags!!! We've heard from several baggage workers, over on the Transportation board, that tell us not to put the tags on! Why? When push comes to shove, the machinery catches those tags and either the tag gives or the luggage gives!!! And we shouldn't be putting anything that hangs off our bags, for that reason. Put a paper in your bag, giving flight info and email/phone info. I realize that most will argue that this isn't the case, so do with that info what you will.

Agree with the above - baggage handlers can be rough but its the nature of the job and I just don't believe they intentionally try and ruin folks bags, also the plastic ages and cracks on its own. I use a very small metal tag on the outside (like a dog tag) attached with a key ring and just my name and phone number and then an index card with my name number and flight info in the outside pocket of my bags and another inside.

The DME tags are Tyvek and pretty indestructible just like the airline bag tags, never had any issues with either of those.

When we do get the decorative luggage tags my kids use the for school bags and non flight travel.

Total agreement.....

We USE the DME tags (edges re enforced with shipping tape, NOT on any handle).

BUT - each trip, we stuff a document INSIDE the bag, and in a velcro closed container OUTSIDE the bag. The document lists names, dates, Home address, Cell and Home Number, Airline Flight Numbers, AND has a copy of the original DME Tag - Bar Codes intact :).

Yes, we received our new bands with the luggage tags in the box for our February trip. They should have been there. We also booked through our TA, and she received our paperwork, but the magic bands were mailed to our home.

Just wanted to update - we got the cute luggage tags! They did end up going to our TA just this weekend. So we got all our stuff at separate times.....and locations. :D:D Whoohoo!!!!
