Luggage Tags

Hi, We booked a last minute DCL cruise and will not get any docs in the mail, which means no luggage tags. What have others done if you don't have the official ones to put on your bags? I looked all over the DCL site but have had no luck finding the answer.

If you have checked luggage, you will have to pick it up from baggage claim and take it down to the DCL transfers location. You can get luggage tags from there and drop your luggage off to be transported to the ship, then board the bus to the port. If all you have is carry on sized luggage, you can keep that with you and have it stored underneath the bus for transport to the port.

If you're driving to the port or using a limousine service, the luggage handlers at the port will have tags for you to fill out.

I'm going to assume you're talking about checked bags at the port, versus the airport.

We never got our luggage tags nor any of our pre-cruise docs - they were lost in the mail. Once we went through the initial security with getting our passports checked, we were directed to the area outside the terminal (at PC) where people were depositing their checked bags and extra tags were written out for us by the porters - all they needed was our stateroom number.

The porters have them as they greet you to take your bags. The people that were with us on the shuttle from the car rental didn't have them and they were provided.

Anyone know if they mind if you have other tags on there too? I though about putting a bright colored one on my bag to help me find it at the end of the cruise.

I've always kept my "everyday" luggage tags that never come off my luggage on when cruising as well as bright ribbon that I can spirt on those airport baggage belts. It's probably just any other airline/hotel tags they'd prefer be off.

Other luggage tags are fine, just make sure to remove your old airline tags.

I started using bright colored duct tape on my black luggage a few years ago to help me identify it on the baggage carrousel. I was using a dark pink zebra print tape, but when we were at the store a couple weeks ago, DD saw they now had Disney duct tape. The kicker was they had FROZEN duct tape. So our luggage will be sporting Anna and Elsa duct tape on our June cruise. I really hope my DD realizes what a great mother she has.

Yes, I was talking about checked bags at the Port, sorry for the confusion. Thank you everyone for the help, I'm glad the Porters will have tags!
