Luggage Tags ME/One short for upcoming trip

We are traveling to WDW this week. We decided to pack a suitcase with water, etc. since we are flying Southwest and the 2nd bag is free. I do not have a ME luggage tag to put on the suitcase. I read that you can just give a cast member at ME your luggage claim tags and they will retrieve the bag. Is this correct? Is there anything else we should do?

It's correct. The only other thing you need to do is get your claim checks or a copy back.

Yes, they will get it to you, but I must add, from personal experience, that it may not show up at the same time as the rest of your luggage.
I tried this a few months ago (added my sister to my trip last minute and let her use my yellow tag). Expect it to take a few extra hours for the untagged bag.
