I apologize in advance for my ignorance about WDW stuff!! :) This may sound like a dumb question, but I am so confused!!

A few weeks back we got our yellow ME tags.

Then in the mail last week we got 4 WDWorld beautiful castle hologram pic luggage tags.

We are not using ME when we get there, because we get in at 11pm, and don't want to wait until morning for our stuff.

Are the castle luggage tags just because? They don't mean anything, they are just a perk from WDW Travel?
Can we still put them on if we are not using ME?

Did they send 4 because there is 4 of us? It deosn't mean we can only have 4 bags does it?

I'll add to the comments of the Woman of Few Words above ....

The "castle" tags are just an interesting and fun souvenir and have NOTHING to do with DME. Whether or not you put those castle tags on will have no bearing on anything DME-related one way or another.

Unles the baggage handlers see a bona fide DME tag, that piece of luggage is going to the baggage claim carousel for you to pick up.

Ok, thanks.
So I can use them, they will look pretty and that is it!!

We depart Disney at 2:40pm. When I phoned, ME said to be in front of our hotel at 10:40. So do we need to put the yellow tags on for the way home, since we will be with the luggage the whole time?
When we get to the airport, does Disney check our bags in, or do we?

First, thank you Eric - for explaining my responses :teeth:
Now, Albertan mom - yes, you just use them on your luggage - and not just for Disney, but any time you travel. It's advisable to put an address OTHER than your home one on those tags, for example work, a friend's who will be home, etc.
For a 2:40 flight, your DME pickup time would actually be more in the vicinity of 11:40 unless it's been changed recently due to possible increased waits at security at the airport.
Do not put any yellow tags on your luggage for your trip home; in fact, remove the ones you attached before you left home. You will get a packet on or under your door the day before you leave with your actual pickup time, and vouchers for the bus.
Bring your luggage to the bus; the driver will place it in one of the under-bus compartments. At the airport, it will be unloaded and placed on the ground (don't worry, you'll probably be off the bus before your suitcases will) and you are responsible for it from that point on.
