Hi,
We (DH and I) are going to WDW for 9 days in December. We have 2 large (30in) Sampsonite suitcases but with the 50 lb weight limit can only usually fill them 1/2 full. With going in December I know we are going to have to pack more because of the varing temps, and I really do not want to do LAUNDRY on VACATION!! So what do you recomend we do. I was looking at some large rolling duffles (38in) and they do not weigh very much and then maybe taking one of our suitcases. Any tips or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You have a lot of options

* Check with yoru airline to see if you can check two pieces instead of one, and split your stuff to avoid going over the 50lb limit

* Ship some stuff to your resort ahead of time by mail, UPS, or FedEx, then ship the dirty laundry home near the end of your trip. It will cost you, but it will allow you to avoid doing laundry

* Pack less. I can easily get up to 11 days of clothing and toiletries into my suitcase without going over the 50lb limit by loosening my standards slightly - I wear a pair of pants or shorts multiple days before switching off, so I don't have to pack as many. I never pack spare shoes, I just keep the ones I have on fairly dry and undamaged. And I don't do redundancy - I pack ONE sweatshirt, not 3 or 4. Fact is, I wind up buying shirts and sweatshirts on every trip anyway, there's no use in packing multiples of things I'm going to buy while I'm there and can ship home if needed.

Most airlines will allow you to check in two bags and I would. Actually I do. My dh and I take four large bags (two a piece) that are less than half full than we have room for the goodies I bring back to my kids and grandkids. We go in Jan/Feb so like you we have to pack a variety of clothes because the weather is unpredictable. With ME we don't have to worry about getting them to the room either.

garbage bags for dirty cloths then throw them away... or just wear the garbage bags

We have friends that always send there cases UPS or Fedex everytime since they go for long periods of time. They like the idea of not having any suite cases to carry to the airport.

Or there's always Owner's Locker where you store your stuff in Orlando between visits. It's waiting for you at your resort when you arrive and is whisked away to a climate controlled warehouse when you leave.
