Lucky #13 with pics ~ 9/25 Finished!!!

I am loving your trippie... thank you so much for the video of SSR... I am keeping it on my pc till DH gets home tonight so I can show him it :goodvibes We are thinking of joining the DVC and that video is a perfect selling point for me to show him what one of the 1 bedroom unit looks like...

Your shots of Illuminations were some of the best I have ever seen!!! Keep em comin :)

Good Luck on the DVC! We had never considered DVC until staying at SSR, but now……:rolleyes1 …..well, lets just say that although we were tempted to do a DVC tour while we were down there, we purposely stayed away from that building while at SSR along with any of those kiosks scattered around property. As pleased as we were with the resort and ‘up’ on all that Disney magic, I saw us walking away with a contract and as many points as our credit would allow us. Oh well, we haven’t ruled out DVC resales (once our car is paid off – of course).
Thanks for the comment about the Illuminations photos, they were a bit blurry because I forgot to bring my tripod with me but I wanted to try out my new camera shooting fireworks. The boy and I went out later on in the trip for the express purpose of experimenting with night shoots and firework shoots (any excuse to watch ROE!:cheer2: ).

Chuck, you should've done the tour! Not only would you have gotten info to chew on from DVC, but did you know that they give you treats to entice you to stick around?

Guess what they were in June?

Dream Squad Fast Passes FOR ALL FAST PASS RIDES IN ALL THEME PARKS.

Yup.

Those were some awesome photos that you took! I have camera envy - what type of camera is it? Very good job!

Looking forward to more -

Great day we've got a shuttle launch whilst we're there so it's good to know you can see it although it is at about 6.30am  Nemo sounds lovely can't wait to see it. Riding up front is great isn't it :) we didn't get certificates though :confused3

I love those patriotic moments...for me personally I find those moments even stronger since serving in the military myself not to mention DFi's is still in the Air Force.
I totally forgot you guys were military! Thank you and your DF for your service! Chuck's dad was in the military. (Retired Army and Retired Air force)

We got to ride up front up too! And it was awesome! And I thought it was hilarious Chuck when you talked about working your way up as a husband! Glad you're keepin' it real!!! LOL!
He's keeing it a little too real for me! Start working your way up, Chuck!! No, I can't complain he is a sweetheart! And he shares my Disney obsession! What more could you ask for?

I'm so jealous!! I'm not sure what kind of camera he has (I'll get him to answer when he wakes up.) I just know I'm not supposed to touch it!! It's his "Preciousssssss".

YOu should definitely make a point to try and see the shuttle launch. I wasn't personally to interested in it. (Just a good excuse to go look around the Grand Floridian.) But it was amazing! I'm so glad we went.
Loving your TR. The shuttle launch looked awesome. Cannot wait to read more.

Thanks!!:goodvibes Hope to have more soon! I can't wait to tell you guys what happened on Day 3!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

Twingle,
In response to your question as to what camera I use. My preccccioooous ( as Lynn and the kids call it) is a Fuji FinePix S600fd. It's not the best but it the best that I could afford. Plus it had a larger sensor than most others so I can play a little bit more with low light shots. The only real downside with having a camera with more bells and whistles is that I want to spend more time experimenting when taking my shots, which leads to being prodded along by the rest of the family. I do believe that Lynn and I will have to have a trip just so I can go around a take pictures.

Day Two Part Two

We had given serious consideration to driving to Titusville to view the launch but we were hesitant since we are unfamiliar with that area (afterwards when we drove to KSC, we were glad that we didn’t. I can only imagine what the traffic must have been like on those small 2 lane highways). Instead we headed to the next best place to view the liftoff – The Grand Floridian.

The traffic used to be horrible going to view a launch but I'm not sure how it is anymore? We lived in Satellite Beach, just south of Cocoa and we always just hit the beach to view a launch. Not the same as being up close, though. Whenever you go to view the launch you have a chance of it being scrubbed. A lot of time wasted if that happens. No matter where you view it, it's very inspiring and moving to view it in person. On a side note, I also got to view the shuttle disaster. I was in Junior High at lunch. It was a horrible day. So many of our parents worked indirectly for the shuttle. I really need to write about that experience in one of my scrapbook pages.

(I’m not sure what’s up with the bandana.)

It's cute, she looks adorable.

It is so my dream to stay there. (The impossible dream.) Just walking in from the monorail, I feel seriously under dressed.

I felt the same way when we visited. I felt like everyone knew we just didn't belong. But I got over it. My brother has stayed there with his fam. for free. He is a PA and always getting free stuff..Not fair:snooty: he doesn't even like disney, he goes for US.

Also, you have to think long term – you are getting married at Disney, and are riding off in a glass carriage – how will you ever be able to top that? (The problem with young love is you have to learn to pace yourself , start low and then build up over the years – but when you start at the top, you have nowhere else to go but down)

:lmao: That is so funny but true! My DH used to bring flowers. Now I'm thrilled if he brings me an icee. Seriously, he brought one home out of the blue just because he knew I liked them. I loved it! So I guess he's got me trained.

[/COLOR] (Oh Chuck, does this mean I'm gonna have to wait until we are ninety to get my proposal and vow renewal at Disney?!?!:guilty: )

He's pacing himself....

The sun was starting to go down and it was a beautiful ride.

It looks so pretty! Nice job on the pics.

What is a pirate’s favorite restaurant?
Arrrrrrrby’s

What’s a pirate’s favorite kind of movie?
One rated RRRRRR.

My hubby would have loved this. He is the king of corn and wouldn't mind me telling ya.

Coming soon: Day Three, A Dream for us!!

A dream! So exciting. popcorn::

I'm so sorry you saw that! I saw it live on TV. I can't imagine how it would be to be there.
Chuck is pacing himself?!!!:rotfl2:

Day Three, Part One
A dream for us!!

The day began with us waking up and grabbing the bus to MK early enough so that we could catch the opening show in front of the train station. One of the little pleasures that Lynn and I enjoy while at WDW is watching the expressions and reactions of smaller children when they see MK for the first time. We were fortunate enough to have a bus driver that had modified his spiel between the GPS automated announcements.
Oh, I love this story!! The driver asked if anyone was having their first visit to the magic Kingdom that day. A family with two girls, maybe 8 and 10 years old spoke up. The bus driver told them to look hard, because he had heard there was a castle nearby and maybe if they look very hard they would see it. They pressed their faces to the window as we came up the hill, and saw Cinderella Castle for the first time. They were so excited, saying, “I see it! I see it!” It was precious! Tears came to my eyes (she’s a weeper). Their first touch of Disney magic.
When we arrived, they were letting people through the turnstiles so we snagged a spot in front of the train station to enjoy the morning show.

Of course, there’s always goofying around.

Sing with me (I’ll bet you didn’t know this was a sing along trip report!)
“Good morning, Good morning,
It’s great to stay up late.
Good morning, good morning to you, and you, and you!
(yes she not only sings it, but when the area is cleared enough and we don’t have children that we have to worry about dropping dead from embarrassment on the spot, we will also dance)
Day3008.jpg

Soon Mickey and his friends arrived from ToonTown to welcome us.
Day3014.jpg

3..2..1..Welcome to the Magic Kingdom!
Day3016.jpg

Today we were headed for Frontierland, but seeing the short wait for Jungle Cruise, we took the first cruise of the day. There were only four other people in our boat!
Look! It’s the front side of water!!
Day3019.jpg

After the most dangerous part of the journey was over, (our return to civilization and her attempt at docking the boat) Chuck and Em made a beeline for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad while Jake and I strolled around Frontierland.
Day3020.jpg

Em ran up to me after their ride with incredible news.
Day3023.jpg

They had met the Dream Team! Chuck and Emily had been given wrist bands and invited to come back to Tomorrowland at 11 pm. The Magic Kingdom would be closed for a special party just for them and they would be allowed to stay in and ride rides for an hour after the park closed!!! They were so incredibly excited. None of us could believe it!
(We're winners, yay!)
Sporting the wristbands.

Next we had planned Tom Sawyer Island but it was not yet 10 so we popped into my favorite pin shop to look around and had a lovely chat with a CM about trading and DVC. I found the AKL pin I wanted. (AKL was our resort last summer.)

Back on the street on our way to the rafts, we were stopped by a man who flashed us a Disney Security badge and said, “Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”
I was scared.
Did I forget to pay?
Pick up something I shouldn’t have?

(Yep! The man finally caught up to her)

He asked if I was really into pin trading. I’ve just started pin trading this trip so I said yes. He said he had a gift for me. (Okay, now I’m wondering if this guy is really a CM or is he one of those guys that goes into the restrooms with cameras hanging around his neck) He gave me a special Tinkerbell pin. It was a set of two, one for me to keep and one for me to give away and spread the pixie dust!!
Day3024.jpg

He was incredibly nice and he and Chuck had a lovely chat about law enforcement and Disney security
(it’s never too early to network, only 8 years and 3 months to go!!!) He blended in so well with the other tourists you would never know. But it sure is nice to know they are out there!

On to Tom Sawyer island. Jake and Em ran around looking for the paintbrushes.
Day3041.jpg

We took an opportunity to relax.
Day3039.jpg

This was our view.
Day3034.jpg

The children had no luck with the paintbrushes so we were on to lunch at Cosmic Ray’s. I had the Turkey and bacon wrap (HUGE) and the others had burgers (Charred cow flesh –mmmmmm).

We tried the new Laugh Floor next. The wait was much longer than advertised!!
Emily playing around in the queue.
Day3044.jpg

(speaking as the only one of the group who liked the Laugh Floor, I thought it was funny – but then I’m kind of simple like that. One thing I found interesting with the attraction was the interaction with the audience. I liked the improv feel and found the show to be quite funny - I’m Watching you….I’m always watching…)

After a quick turn on the TTA (the top rated attraction for dads that want to catch a quick nap), we walked over to ToonTown on the secret path to ride the train around the park. We decided to leave the park early so Chuck and Em could get a nice long nap since they would be up late. I think Jake and I were a little sad not to being going to the party, but we were trying to be excited for Chuck and Em.
(Yeah, sure they were excited, if their bottom lips had pouted out any further, people would have been tripping over them) Hey, we were trying!
And then…….when we stopped at the Main Street Station, we could hear the Dream Team greeting people in the exit path from the train. We jumped off and sure enough, they were giving out more wristbands for the party!!! I couldn’t believe our luck. Now we would all be going to have an extra hour in MK together!!!

(So much for my grand plan to party with the ladies)
Come on, Chuck, you know Aurora still has that restraining order against you!;)
After we picked up some new outfits for Pal Mickey on Main Street, we were off to the room so we all could get a nap.

Apparently, our traveling companions got bored while we were gone and decided to watch a little TV.
Day3047.jpg

And what do you watch at WDW? Why, Stacey, of course!
(Stacey…..so much better than Crissa, but not as good as Samantha Brown would be….Grr…) Down, boy!
Day3056.jpg

Coming Soon: Our Dream hour in MK!!

What a great report!! :cool1:

I got to the last entry and was ready to hear about the midnight party when you stopped!! Talk about teasing a person!!! ;)

Can't wait to ready the rest!!:yay:

Great report! I cried...not at the dream...but when I watched that video of you all going into WDW together in your car!!!

That was magical in itself :)

good report!! I like Chuck's take on things....

Hehe.... restraining order :rotfl2:

Great chapter... I never heard of anything like that with the wristbands... that's pretty cool!

I am so excited that your got Dreamed Teamed!!!! Another great installment and I am loving the humor! :rotfl: Looks like a great day at MK and can't wait to read about the extra hour!!!! What great luck that you met up with the Dream Team again so you all could go to the party together.

Thank you all for your kind comments! I'm sorry I'm not able to reply to you all, but Harry Potter is sucking my will to live!! I work in a bookstore and you would not believe the amount of preparation and security that go into the coming of this book! I'm also rereading Half Blood Prince in preparation for Deathly Hallows. I should be back into Disney mode by Tuesday. Thanks for your patience. I hope my writing can do the MK after hours party justice. It was Awesome!!!:cool1:

I'm really enjoying your TR so far! love the interaction! LOL

Sorry that your dealing with Harry Potter Mania! Deep down inside, you find it to be a little bit amusing, right? I'll be strolling out of my local bookstore, HP7 in hand, at midnight tomorrow (or shortly thereafter!)

Can't wait to read the rest of your trippie!
