I'm just back from a weekend at Universal. This was our (DW, DS9, and myself) first trip to Universal after 3 Disney trips. We went to MK the first night for MNSSHP. It's a lot of fun. After enjoying our day at mainly Universal and Marvel Superheroland at IOA, we went to Royal Pacific for the luau. This was a great break from the rides and park stuff. The food was very good. The price included drinks (beer, wine, etc.). I wasn't overly impressed with the pig, but the ribs and mahi mahi were excellent. They also had spicy pork dish. They had a green salad with all the trimmings and various of salads to eat. They also offered the best coconut rice and a chicken dish with peppers. They also had a beef dish, but the name escapes me. They had a dessert table with 4 desserts. The best was a chocloate banana cake. They also offered a tropical cake, a mango cheesecake and a chocolate nut pie. I had at least a taste of all 4. The show was funny and entertaining. A band played, island girls danced, flame thrower eat fire, and members of the audience were embarassed by their spouses attempts to do the dances. But hey, they aren't going to see those people ever again, so it was a lot of fun. I can say that because thankfully I wasn't picked and I am not a dancer.
Overall, good to very good food, entertaining show, and a needed break from the let's ride the rides till we drop attitude.
If you want to know anything else, ask away.:teeth:

Sounds like great fun!
How much did it cost and what time did it start? How often do they have one?
Can you drink as much as you like?

(We may be staying at the RPH next time - if I can afford it!)

Thanks bkline, for your Luau info! I really want to try this one and now will next trip! How did your son like it? I have 2 boys 6 and 10 and wonder if it will be something for them to appreciate and enjoy.
The desserts sound yummy!

xavier: It is a little pricey: 49 for adults and 25 I believe for kids. That does include tip and taxes. Yes, you just tell the waiter to bring you another as much as you like.
JessicaR: My DS enjoyed it. When the show started, I told him to tell me when he wanted to leave and he never asked. He liked the dancing and especially the fire thrower. He did seem a little concerned that one of the ladies may bring him up on stage to dance. He kept asking me, I'm too young to get pciked right? You never know. They did take 2 little girls up. I think the boys will like it.

Thank you for sharing. I want to try this too. Is it still only on weekends? The food sounds wonderful!!!!

I believe it is only offered on Saturday. There are a limited number of tables which makes it nice for viewing the show.

Thanks for the report we are intending to do this on our trip in march and its nice to hear from someone whos actually been
:D
