Luau questions

I was thinking of doing the Christmas Luau around the second week of December. I noticed the show times are at 5:30 pm and 8:15 pm, but the park closes at 7:00 pm. How do they handle guests for the 8:15 pm Luau if the park closes before the Luau show? Are guests corralled in special areas?

For those who have been, how is the Luau overall?

I do know that the evening Shamu show usually runs past the official park closing hour. And the Waterfront shopping/dining area is usually open for at least an hour after park closing.
We've been to the luau twice, and enjoyed it very much.
