My husband, my sister and I are taking my twin girls to WDW September 18-25.
They will be almost 3 (by only days).

For breakfast should be do:
Chef Mickeys or Ohanas

For dinner should we do
Luau
Hoop Dee Doo
or Mickeys Backyard Barbeque

I am also going to try to get into Cindy's.

I am least concerned with cost and most concerned with my girls having the time of their lives!

Thanks!

Of your 2 breakfast choices, I've only done Chef Mickey's. My kids (11 & 8) really enjoyed themselves. There was a large selection of food, great character interaction, and for us well worth the money.

As for dinner, we've only done HDDR. My 11yo got ALL the jokes, while most went over my 8yos head. HDDR is very active, with lots going on, singing, clapping, laughing, but it can also be a little noisy. MY kids enjoyed it.

I've taken my kids to HDD and they loved it! Their ages ranged from 7 - 13.

When my DS was just about 3, we did both the luau and the Hoop Dee Doo. Both he and my DD 6 at the time loved the Hoop Dee Doo. They enjoyed themselves at the luau but not as much. When we went back last year I gave them a choice and they both picked the Hoop Dee Doo to do again.

Hi... we have been to Cindy's twice. My dd's love it. The oldest was 4 the first time we took her. Then the second time she was six and the youngest was four. They had a magical time!!

We have also done the HDDR. They enjoyed themselves there too.

This time we are doing MBYBBQ. Our ressie is June 1. It is only offered for a limited time and two or three times a week.

I'll let you know how it was!!!

For dinner I say HDDR. I would say Luau if it was the old one, which was GREAT!

The Hoop-Dee-Doo is great but, my family and I prefer the Luau.

:sunny:

We loved HDDR.

Try for Cindy's! it's very special. My DD11 still wants to go. It's just the two of us. We are also doing the Storybook breakfast as well. If you follow the tips you should snag Cindy's for one of the days that you are there.

ok, im totally partial to the Hoop Dee Doo Revue. its on our list of must do's.

but given that Sept is mating season for mosquitos, I would opt for the HDDR because its inside.

Absolutely skip the luau, especially with little ones. The show is long and shows dances from different islands. After awhile, honestly, the dances started looking the same with different costumes. The fire guy was good, but he's at the very end. It didn't hold my 4 year olds attention for long, although she did like joining the group of kids on stage for a few minutes to learn a dance. Hoop-de-do was a more lively show, but most of the jokes are way over a 3 year old's head. The food was much better than the fare at the luau. I've never done the barbeque, but it sounds more interactive.

Breakfast at Ohanas is fun. We go there every year whether we stay at the Poly or not. The food is good and the character interaction fun. There is also a conga line dance around the restaurant for the kids that is great. Have you considered breakfast with the Princesses in Norway at EPCOT? It was really nice. The Princesses were very attentive. Sleeping Beauty even taught my daughter how to curtsie and twirled her around in a little dance. Then you could have lunch at the MK castle instead. That's what we do and have seen Cinderella there in the lobby on her throne every time, although the restaurant doesn't guarrantee it. The lunch menu is very nice.

Our best character experience was at the GF 1900 Park Faire buffet. Prince Charming actually sat down on the booth next to our daughter and had a conversation with her! Our worst character interaction was lunch at Crystal Palace. They quickly signed her book and were off to another table.

Whatever you choose, have fun. The twins might not remember this trip, but you will always will.

is the for the "Hoop"!

We have done the luau with our 3 year old and 4 year old. They loved it. They also like Elvis in "Blue Hawaii". The songs and mood are similar.

Personally, I thought the food wasn't very good. Service was just ok.

But, we'll probably go back. The girls had a great time.

Cindarella's breakfast is just fantastic if you have little girls. My wife seemed pretty happy too. I thought the food was pretty good.

Chef Mickeys is a must. We've always done dinner there, never breakfast. We've been three times. I think the food is really good, especially the ham and mashed potatatoes, and the characters and atmosphere are a lot of fun. We're planning to go again in September.

We are planning to do the HDDR this fall. I've heard great things about it.

The Hoop De Doo is great. Do that for sure. Mickey Backyard Barbeque is horrible!!Don't waste your time.

Why do you think Mickey's BBQ is so bad?? I have it booked for June 1. Help me.........I don't want to go somewhere that everyone thinks is bad.

We have done both Chef Mickey's and Ohana's quite a few times. My kids on our last trip were 6, 4 and 13months. We went to Chef Mickey's for dinner that trip and really enjoyed ourselves. We have been to C.M for breakfast before and love the food and of course the characters. (My dd LOVES Minnie and we see her here.) But breakfast can be as crazy as dinner.
And, I have to say that my dh and I really love the relaxed feeling of Ohana's for breakfasat.. It is not a buffet but an all you can eat. But, you never need to leave the table, and we actually ate at the same time, (as opposed to a buffet, one of us stays with the kids the other goes to the buffet line). My kids LOVE the conga line and my baby dd loves the great character interaction and watching the conga line.
Can't give an opionion on the Hoop de doo or Mickey's BBQ, we have never tried either. But, we are planning on trying Mickey's Barbecue this summer. I understand the kids can try line dancing with the characters and think they would love that.

HOOP DEE DOO

this is THE BEST meal i have everytime i go to WDW

Its worth every penny when I see my DS (6) turn beat red and fall out of his chair laughing
DD (6) laughed her little heart out
and my dd12 (11 at the time) enjoyed the whole show, but especially liked the ending (when the waiters....oh nevermind, its a secret)

DH and i just adore the show as well

the food is excellent- its all you can eat chicken, ribs, corn, salad and for dessert strawberry shortcake

as i said before....

HOOP DEE DOO
