I was just checking out allears and noticed that the child's lunch menu at LTT appears to have changed. Here is what is listed:

"Just Dip It" - Assorted fruits, vegetables, chicken salad, hummus, and light strawberry yogurt served with baked whole wheat pita chips. $6.99

Beef and Macaroni - Whole wheat macaroni, ground beef, marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese served with green beans, baby carrots, and fruit salad. $6.99

Tasty Tofu - Seasoned tofu with whole grain pilaf, broccoli, baby carrots served with fruit salad and milk. $6.99

Deconstructed Vegetarian Quesadilla Refried beans, corn, cheese dip and baked whole wheat tortilla chips served with lettuce, salsa, sour cream and cinnamon sugar apples. $6.99

Pita Pizza Whole wheat pita topped with diced chicken and mozzarella cheese served with Cinnamon Sugar Apples and Shredded Vegetable Salad. $6.99

Grilled Mahi Mahi - Mahi mahi, pineapple salsa, brown sugar sweet potato sticks, and green beans served with yogurt parfait. $6.99

I'm all for healthy choices for kids, but are you kidding me? Tofu, hamburger mac, refried beans and hummus? I'm lucky to get my kids to eat chicken fingers or a hot dog. I made ADRs here so that we could eat at a different restaurant and try a different kind of meal (for the adults) but this is just too different for my kids. Can anyone confirm this new menu? Are you still able to order the chicken strips and hot dog standards? My kids might like the turkey and dressing offering, but I don't want to pay an adult price for them and one meal won't be enough for them to share.

Please no flames about how I feed my children. When we are on vacation, they eat what they want and what they want is mainly chicken strips and hot dogs.

Please tell me this isn't so??!?!?!?!? :scared1:

I don't know if it is so or not but I agree. While I feel that there should be healthy options, I don't think my kids would eat anything on that list either.

It does seem that they could still offer some "old standbys" like chicken fingers, etc- BUT, if you translate a few of the menu selections, they can be very child-friendly:

Beef and Macaroni= baked spaghetti with meat sauce

Deconstructed vegetarian quesadillas= tortilla chips and cheese dip (with some extras)

Just dip It= finger foods and dips (lots of kids like to do the "dipping" thing)

Pita Pizza= California Pizza Kitchen-style "gourmet" pizza

As for the Tofu and grilled Mahi Mahi, I totally agree with the OP_ I don't know of many kids who would willingly eat these things.

Get the platter for the whole family at dinner - plus characters

PATRIOT'S PLATTER - A generous serving of roasted turkey breast, carved beef, and boneless ham, accompanied with Tavern-made mashed potatoes, market vegetables, herb bread stuffing, and Stouffer's Macaroni and Cheese.

My kids eat the Mac & Cheese and some turkey (it's plain), plus some mashed potaotes.

The kids menu now sounds a bit like it's for a vegetarian adult ...
Tasty Tofu - Seasoned tofu with whole grain pilaf, broccoli, baby carrots served with fruit salad and milk. $6.99

Deconstructed Vegetarian Quesadilla Refried beans, corn, cheese dip and baked whole wheat tortilla chips served with lettuce, salsa, sour cream and cinnamon sugar apples. $6.99

Grilled Mahi Mahi - Mahi mahi, pineapple salsa, brown sugar sweet potato sticks, and green beans served with yogurt parfait. $6.99

I'd posted earlier about the meager children's choices at most MK counter service places...not hot dogs, not chicken strips---my son's standbys. Then, I,too, looked at LTT's menu. This will be the first year we won't be going there because there's just nothing on the menu my son would eat.

I'm all for healthy choices, but now they've gone the opposite direction--all I'm sure very good for you, but none that my kids would eat! Definately skip lunch here and take them to the charater dinner! Funny how you can rarely strike up a happy medium--just give me a 1/2 pizza at Pizza planet with a very small salad and goldfish crackers for kids same at Pizzafari. Give me a burger with apple slices and or grapes in leiu of fries, give me chicken tenders with celery and carrot sticks, but give me options that my children will eat, not beans and weenies, not cold chicken chunks!

Thanks for the heads up. I've been there for the character dinner but next trip in August I was going to try LTT for lunch. I liked there selection last time I looked. My kids would have ate there but now they wouldn't eat anything on that list. Seems like they have changed a lot of the kids menus.

They could always do what my son does when we eat lunch at LTT. He gets the fried cheese for his lunch. Both mozzerella and cheddar fried cheese on the plate.

I saw the fried cheese. Is that like mozzarella sticks. Are they breaded then fried. My kids love mozzarella sticks but I didnt know if it was the same thing?

I agree! My 5 and 2 year old children are very picky and there is nothing on that kids menu that they will eat. Plus, they don't like turkey and the fixings either. :confused3 I was really looking forward to trying LTT on our next trip, but we're going to have to skip it because there is nothing that they will eat there. :sad2:

Thanks for the update. I will now cancel. I'm not sure I would enjoy it much less the kids.

Check with the restaurant before you cancel. Enough complaints and I suspect chicken fingers will become available even if it's not officially added back to the menu.

Remember the menus posted on the internet aren't official.

They are battered and fried. Very good, too. They give you a marinara sauce to dip in, but my son used ketchup.

That is odd. The food sounds great to me, but I don't think it would appeal to most kids. My guess is that they want the kids to order the cheeseburger off the regular menu, thus paying more, and boosting sales.

They have cheeseburgers on the regular menu.

Don't worry folks.. I just talked to my mother who works at the LTT. It was just a two week trial, and she said it went down in flames. The normal kid menus are back.

Cheers: :cool1:

The funny thing is--my kid WILL eat all this stuff and won't touch chicken fingers or hot dogs! She'd rather have strawberries than french fries! DH and I arent sure where she came from--we have never said no to anything fried!

My kids would eat everything on that menu except the tofu. We usually just share the adult meal (at dinner) with them, it's never been questioned. I don't know about the portions at lunch though.
