I am in the process of booking a cat. 10 (deluxe inside stateroom) for the 1/11/03 Magic cruise. I know there are some cat. 10 located on deck 5 and higher. I do know though that most of the cat. 10's are on deck 1 & 2. I would be happy with a cat. 11, but they are sold out for this cruise.

For those of you who have stayed on a cat. 10 on deck 1 or 2, what was it like? Were the night clubs too loud? I will be traveling with a 7 & 5 year old.

Did you feel the boat rocking?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks a bunch.

We were in 2581 on deck 2 on the Magic. It is right in the middle of the ship. We have a 6 year old and a 4 year old. The room was the best, we had no noise near our room.

Honestly, I think I slept the best I ever did in that room. I did feel the boat rocking - just a little, but I think that is what made me sleep better.

I didn't have a category 10, but I did have a forward cat 12. It was great. It was so convenient to everything. I never heard noise from the clubs until I got close to the stairways.

A long, long time ago - Dec 31st to be exact - when I was first able to book our Disney Magic cruise which departs in 6wks - I was also wondering which Cat 10 room was best to book.
When I got on the phone I had Dave's list of noisy cat 10, deck 2 rooms with me. At first I tried to Deck 5, then deck 7. I ended up being assigned a room on deck 2.
However, a few months later a cat 10 on deck 5 opened up. I was able to change our room to a secret porthole.
So when you 1st book have Dave's list of noisy rooms with you. If you cant get on deck 5 keep trying. Good luck

we were on the magic- deck 2 midship outside.
we had no trouble at all with noise from the clubs or elevators.
it was very quiet and convenient to the rest. and clubs.
it was a little walk to the top but we weren`t in much of a hurry.

have fun

We were once below the Rockin' Bar D and heard the bass line till late into the night. But the worst was stateroom 2626, which was above a loading/unloading door...and they start EARLY!!! Out of 26 Disney cruises, that is the one stateroom that still makes me shudder every time I think of it...a Cat. 11 would have been much better.

We sailed in 2103, a CAT 10 on the Wonder. Port side aft, just forward of the aft elevators. No hallway, club, or restaurant noise at all. However, there was a constant low humming noise like a generator or some electrical apparatus. Funny thing was you could only hear it if you were standing at the rear of the cabin. Must have been vibration through the wall. It was present at all times whether in port or at sea. Didn't bother us at all but it was there.
